  1. FF is still usable, if you go for the -acc debuff on the heroes, the defence of FF helps really alot (stacked prefered :P).

    And it has been discussed many times, RSF favors certain builds/sets, but also (if enough players) picks certain sets above others. This case Mercs are biting the dust. Why you shouldnt complain here? If your set is only usable with use of Shivans, leadership and a Nuke, whats the whole freaking use of your set then? (by far, Mercs damage is pants)
  2. Teambased, AR is a very nice set to play with, since you can risk the delays of the draw/root/animating times. I'm playing a AR/ice set currently at nearly 38, quite enjoyable but stil with some drawbacks.

    Main issue is the redraw whenever u use any other power outside the AR (Bu, medicine, any power of secondairy etc), this can be dangerous annoying. (imm/hold, burn, bu, burn, snipe). Solo i can play pretty safe, but its not one of the fast sets around (specialy compared to my ice/nrg). Next up is the animation times, Fullauto and flametrower are sometimes dangerous long if you miss a mob. (A rikti boss dont need 3 seconds to get near you, grab his surfboard and swoop you).

    But its a Gun, a lovely gun with lovely sound and lovely powers. If you can cope with the drawbacks, team alot and dont be yalours at the 'big blasters' (this doesnt include nrg primairy...), AR is very nice to play.
  3. 24 can be pretty tight for wanting all those powers in Specialy that Inv has the 'good' powers already at early lvl. I would suggest taking Stamina with highest priority, the toggles can be pretty painfull heavy, specialy if you attack alot.

  4. For solo i think its also based on secondairy. Although fire can heal alot, the ammount of toggles they basicly need to run is pretty insane compared to others. once you get a bunch of -recharge on you, your final panic buttons wont help you anymore, unlike Inv or Ice who have the panic button (hibernate/unstoppable). Together with burn being badly nerfed (fear), solo you need a immobilize/hold power or (highly used) ice patch from the Ice secondairy.

    From all my tankers (got inv, fire and granite), i always liked to solo my granite, nothing to worry about and having rage running the -damage is overcome very easy. Fire is very fast and fun to play, there are several mobs where it becomes a bit too annoying to solo against, drainers and -recharge in particulary.

    Ice is the only set i never played upto higher lvls, mainly because i dont like the 'luck' factor. The change little damage get blocked, but a high damage gets through still annoys me, specialy if you face AV's or Elite bosses.

  6. You can even play a water-based AT, as long you can spam your ice/fire or fire/ice fast enough that it melts the ice
  7. I think you forgetting 1 of the big points on starting with a Tanker.

    Know your tanker.
    Each tanker has its Pro’s and Con’s, most of them wont start to shine yet untill higher level, that is where quite some people push it on and boredom kicks in. Each armor set has strong points, but more important, his weak points. Lack of knockback/immobilise, lack of complete mezz-resist outside rooted, massive end-drain if you run too many toggles (fire, inv) and low to poor resist during the early levels. Most people seem to think that the shields ‘out of the box’ are good enough to hold back a 10-mob group, while they are not much better then a sonic shield or FF buff or even forget they don’t have single mez-resist or lack a certain resist. Learning the entire set of your chosen armor helps you a lot facing the different mobs through out your leveling. By knowning how each armor-set works, it helps a lot with chosing the set that suits you most.

    Also important, communicate with your team. You are the 1 most likely survive the longest, but if you are already in a weak sitatuation, it wont help much if your team continue’s rushing in. If you prefer a taunt&pull-hide style, tell them to wait back while you pick up your mobs.

    Specialy for starters this is very confusing, the 15 seconds is based on a full set of Single Origen, lvl22 onwards. Pre-SO it is a live safer, but at the same time it can drain your little remaining endurance to keep your toggles running.
  8. Meh, nrg has way too long execution of powers, 2 main powers have 2 seconds casting time and the other 1,76sec casting (as ice only has 1 2sec power, rest is around 1sec). You cant really spam those powers as other sets (outside TA perhaps, even AR can burst faster due higher damage).
  9. And on the other side.. the blaster set that blast worst of em all, i nominate nrg/ice (or any nrg/..).

    Once you are in Granite not much can actualy take you down, the huge range of attacks (ranged and melee) is to have a nonstop attackchain (and case of -recharge) to keep gauntlet going. Epic set is great for ranged AV tanking, start power (salt crystals) and 2nd aoe attack (stalgmites with footstomp). Fly set because i like fly and works pretty good with Teleport (travel when in Granite) and secondairy PA drop support on Hami-raids and Taxi-service. 3slotted swift to counter -speed from Granite, although Rooted still gives you a close to stop.

    Only Psionic is a nightmare (rooted helps), not really Solo friendly.

    Agree though, you ditch out a awsome ammount of damage.

    I would say, situation based and personal preference I prefer my AR blaster of team groupwhiping above a Fire blaster, i just love the sound of FullAuto

    14 and going, thus far very enjoying to play. The poison breath power works very nice together with calltrops of the 2nd tier ninja's. As known, their brains are insanely small so you have to 'help' them quite often.

  14. Basicly yeah, my bot/poison still has a somewhat chance against hero's, with mercs you better trow napkins instead.
  15. Even if i make it in time, TA has too many juicy powers to even fit Leadership powers in Add the fact its nearly only hero-bashing after 40 and Mercs aint the good cut for that.. little luck.
  16. Dont forget dark for -acc debuff, poison for -regen/-res and TA for the massive -res/slow

  18. After a good sleep and some slapping (literaly) some sence back into reality by a friend, i did made a big mistake of taking down the forum that fast. Blind anger makes you do weird things unfortunatly.

    But my choice was clear, it remains clear. Surely some dissagree and claim its just a game.. I clearly see this specific issue differently. The text was clear and multiple spammed in /b and even in ootcs channel, thus not anything near 'just a joke'. I refrain myself from flaming, i just dont wanna be near those people.

    Anyway, my friend is taking over Encore account for the time being, still has a few weeks active. I will revert the website tonight, although someone next to Plight need a mod-status for a bit of 'control' on the site. (to ruby, i never trow something away that has value to me, call it a anger-panic-button).

    I think you mean Inv/Fire Inv is a pretty alrounder in PvP, fire has lesser potential, even lesser resisted it has no 'big power' to use.
  21. For troller/defender its one of the best set, for MM's.. lets say a Top 10 best secondairies, it would be place 10

    But once most issues are fixed by devs, it would be a good killer.

  23. Its not really that traps (or any other) has lousy powers, its more that Dark has too strong powers

    And dispite all the massive issues with mercs and TA, that set remains my favo.

    Based on your posthistory (regged recently isit? amusing to read empty air), there is still too much too learn for you.

    You can PL as long and often as you want, but dont breg or show off with it, most of all, dont bother us with it.
