    5 Best Blasters

    [ QUOTE ]
I will leave this open for now, but if it spawns a whole sequence of 'who's the best X' or turns nasty, I'm afraid I'll have to lock it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sigh bridger you still dont know?
Best X will always be Sinergy X

    Ice/Nrg build

    [ QUOTE ]
god dammit TG, thats close to the worst PpP build in the history of man.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And 90% of the powers are exactly the same as the 'best pvp build'.
  3. SinergyX_EU

    Ice/Nrg build

Freeze ray has faster casting, faster recharge, lower end. Overall very nice and alot better then BFR. With such ammount of recharge its quite easy to stack this twice (BP gives 100% extra hold).

The 160%, you refer to total recharge on a power? (aka 90% ED + 70% on setbonus?) I'm working on recharge on my granite and i'm getting stuck on 56% atm (and lack serious ammount of inf).

I have to pop the mid designer to see your exact build. Based on your chains, you likely to go alot melee, though you still be able to drop Energy Punch and replace by stun (100% mag3 stun iirc). (TF->Bonesmash->BIB->IB->stun->again)
  4. SinergyX_EU

    Ice/Nrg build

Bitter freeze ray has a very annoying casting time wich roots you for about 2-3seconds. (animation from TB of elec).

I cant see the set bonus you getting on +recharge (no mid builder here), but outside hasten BR needs 2 SO to get perma.

If you not intent to go use PFF alot (ok.. its pvp) you might look at the ice epic. They have the -50% move/recharge toggle power from Storm and 30 seconds hibernate
  5. [ QUOTE ]

Ive know tanks with 1 slot in taunt have managed to perma-aggro Lord Recluse (something I understand is impossible with gauntlet / aura alone).

I would be very interested to know if a Granite can do this (lets asume no +recharge buff) with -70% penalty and if he can, what slotting would be required on taunt.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Perma-Granite here, that has done several STF's now, some though not succesfull.

First of all a minor note on tanking LR, we often used the pull-him-to-a-corner while the rest of the team takes the towers down. At this point basicly nobody is even near, making Recluse basicly only attack you all the time. At that point i often only attack him, to make sure i hit him and gauntlet (and mudpots) stay active.

Without +recharge i can easy say, no freaking way. Specialy when that sharkguy goes elude, the chance of keeping him aggroéd drop to around 0. I already have 2x Doctored wounds, 1x LotG recharge, making AB and then Hasten a perma set. Getting SB from kin speeds up alot. Without it, i only see 3 recharge/2acc/1taunt as best setup, even then it might be a hard case.

I have Fire epic now, the set of ranged powers are great addition to keeping gauntlet active, as (many dont know) taunt has a to-hit check versus AV's. Taunt is slotted 1acc/2recharge, as far i remember i only lost 6-7 times agro from AV's in all my STF runs (hail to PA that overtake my agro).

My ultimate goal (wich mostly is inf gaining now) is to reach the 60% recharge on setbonus, already have extra lotg ready and build/slots are ready to go.

    As for Cuffzter post, do.it.today.
Although i wonder how you can work against AV's then, as they have to hit, and inherent you cannot slot at all. Outside that, will it be -recharge affectable, making it kinda less usefull for granite's.
  6. Man i hate you :P
U were lower then mika and still beat me to it

    But a big gratz anyway!
  7. [ QUOTE ]
If you're worried about end just get aid self (as most recommend for a blaster) and slot it with the +recov enhancements from the Miracle and Num's Con sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think he will be needing some RL recovery first after seeing the prices of those 2
  8. Agreed on taunt for STF, even then it can be a hard time keeping him 100% aggro'ed to the tanker.
  9. @Encore
    @SinergyX

    I agree

    ahum.. with what actualy?
  10. Kinda depends what your playstyle is. Dedicate taunting tank will not likely run out of endurance, someone active and spamming his powers somewhat more might run problems due toggles. And using your attacks contribute to the gauntlet, making agro management a bit more effecient.

Those i've seen, ice and fire tankers seem to be able to work without stamina, ice has a auto-hit end-drainer, fire has the tohit drain but will run in probs when facing -recharge.

    Advice Request

With AV's you can pick your pets carefully. As we look at all the sets, lack of KB-protection making KB-frenzy pets abit annoying.

Ninja first 3 pets will get a knockback with the 32 upgrade, Thugs have their bruiser with handclap (he loves it it seems), Bots have several attacks with it, Necro's lich have a cone knockback and Mercs have grenades/commando. Although i believe TA glue arrow provide knockback-protection, Grav only has KB-prot in the holds (not aoe imm or ST imm).

If you have 1 person on the team with a less computer, casting Call gangwar might be bad one but the fire-freak has a burn-patch power, ninja AI can be borked at certain moments, Bots are fully ranged with great AoE's (more burn!) and can do -regen, nerco have cones (zombie and lich - psn less resisted) and awsome melee dmg (knights with KU/KD). So for that mather, i would go for more theme based style of wich you prefer to take.
  12. 1 You can go around without stamina, just in heat of battle and insane spam-age you might hit low on endurance. However, going /elec fix this by having powersurge, or energy with conserve. Just slot end-reds in all powers (use a herobuilder to see wich takes most effect).

2 no, every /secondair has its uses, viability and fun. It just depends what you want want most. Going full blaster (aka ranged) nrg boostrange/powerboost help a lot and you still have BU. I’ve seen quit a lot arch/dev’s, prob pvp based or sortlike. Any set can do, although /fire might be the less good for u (most melee / aoe based). Just remember that every power you do from /secondair makes you redraw your bow when you do a arch attack again.

3 hasten would be nice for Rain of Arrows, medicine pool for self heal. But if you focus on ranged anyway, I asume you still could push in the fitness pool and having nothing to worry about.

4 Vary on the set, but that’s the most common slotting. Using IO’s you can play around abit more, able to put in more end-reds. Going /dev you get target drone, wich makes you able to drop 1 SO and go for a Endred or recharge.

5 First respec mission is lvl24 onwards. Secondairy you can get respec tokens from veteran rewards (12, 18 and 22 I believe).

Thermal is not a MM secondary.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I was refering to the corrupter he will be teaming with

The heat loss might be enough to keep regen at a low bay for AV's, as said with immobilize you can start ditching out tremendous damage (burn /trap mines, prob perma mezzed).

Then again, AV's are like 5% of the entire gameplay? Of with all the other mobs and missions are mainly (with such big group) focused on aoe control of wich /poison is the loosing one imho. (although the cone is very awsome - poison trap however is very very pants compared to the trap version).

As he has a grav/ on the team, wormhole (that tp/stun thing) on a tripmine does funny things. I keep my bets on /trap and /TA (last specialy with a fire brute).

    Advice Request

Thermal has heat loss, wich does a -500% (poison -1000% i believe) and is perma-able.
TA has EMP but thats only 15 sec on -1000% regen.
trap has Poison trap, 10 sec on -1000%

    Advice Request

/nrg might be tricky with knockback and melee pets (necro, ninja and thug bruiser).

Although TA is not that great solo and for MM as whole, it still works very very well in teams. Basicly everyone power has AoE abilities and having a fire brute i can say that oil slick arrow gonna be your biggest friend. (and TA glue arrow helps alot with /nrg knockback). Pets are a little problem, depending if you plan to pick some attacks. As you will have bow as TA, ninja suits best. Downside is that ninja is 99% melee thus can be dangerous.

If you also plan to face AV's and EB's, -regen powers are best to go with, such as poison's one is awsome. But since its single target based, i would pick /Traps instead, great control, great teambuff (aoe mezz bubble) and good overview.

Dark and FF i have little experience with, Dark is basicly good in any situation but might overkill on mob-mezz'ing.

    pets,
Bots are very good overall, nice aoe damage, they are pretty solid and the 2 protector bots can heal other bots. Might be annoying at little space missions, they are the biggest pets around.

Mercs, my personal dont-take pets. They currently have alot of AI issues, from suicidal medic, useless stealth power to a commander that only uses 20% of his attacks. They are fun, if positioned correctly they ditch out very nice aoe powers.

Necro, currently my favorite. Awsome damage, have a self heal, mezz-spamming Lich. Set has a self-heal, soul extract (get a soul from a dead pet) and they can do serious -acc. Mainly melee based (knights are broadsword scrappers - hello dmg) but at range they can do lotsa dmg too.

Ninja/Thug, little experience in team based, as solo they perform very very well, specialy thug is a Single target killer.

Lotsa talking, what i would suggest:
Necro/trap. Mezzed mobs dont attack, with the powers of trap you can even mezz them more, your pets do awsome damage and you can safely put down some tripmines and detonators (necro pets instant explode, using soul extraction and you got your pet back - your own MM blasternuke). Mez-resist for the team, debuffs mostly are passive, agro puller (seeker drones), regen buff (triage). From my experience of all my MM's in teams, the most enjoyable.
  16. I would join teh buckshot, 1 fun part is to place a few mines then rush to the other side. Buckshot hits em back, into the mines and (placed) acid mortar. Pop Full auto, enjoy
  17. Pretty new and already lvl40?
    Impressive
  18. On my list you can add yourself
(i know, i have some little topic hijack)
  19. Menu -> Personal info -> ArchType: Tanker.

    Eeeh, wrong
  20. All heroes in moderation have been added again
  21. Its not likely they will do anything about that, have to agree on the sonic rooting, energy (primairy) is likewise and additional very long animations. AR had this problem since it got released (Issue2?). But as seen how long /ice nrg/, sonic/ and AR/ been around already and never got any dev-loving.. i wont see it happen soon

Hoping for it though, having a nrg/ice in a team with all the other sets makes you feel abitty sad
  22. He was replying to Falcon_fire, tanker and scrapper should get new sets more then blasters need new ones.
  23. Relevant it that, all other elementals are quite common resisted by most toons, specialy the tankers. So even those little few having psi resist have to face the 30%, rest is just plain bait for psi blaster. (not to mention defiance maxed, going close to 1 shot everything).

But to end the discussion, i thought devs made it clear that there will be no copying of sets anymore, only new sets added. Outside the fact blaster got enough already.
  24. And blaster have unresistable damage
  25. [ QUOTE ]
It would be strong but as it doesnt have aim I dont think it would be too overpowered. There is quite a bit of psi resistance villain side too with elec armour, ninjitsu, dark armour. . . Ok I just want a psi blast toon and dont want to level a defender

    [/ QUOTE ]
Its too overpowered. Only granite has psi def (BU hits through it way to easy), all those armors stated only granite minor resist to this. Why would u need aim if u can pop just a extra red one, cause nobody has defence to psi anyway.

Go kin/psi, thats quite a blaster.
