    Its not only what u think to be as a tanker, but great aspect is what the team expect you to be as tanker. If they expect a fire tanker without any hold/mez power to run in a 2 group malta without any backup on the sappers, i wish him alot of luck. Sure there are alot solutions to this, but the baseline is imho already wrong.

    You play as a team, you should think as a team. Weaknesses, strength, possible mistakes or dangerous mobs. Too many times i got told by a blaster to herd a 5 group room so he can nuke it, not only his lack of agro-knowledge or his cap on nukes, he 99% of the time fired of all his powers before i even got halfway the room.

    But the whole agro stuff, a blaster never died against a even minion, why in a team he suddenly would? I pick the mobs that are a high thread to the team, those who i miss are either out of range and i grap straight after or i know the team can handle them without any problem.

    There are many players, particularily invul types, who picked the set, not so much because they want to Tank the CoH way, but because they want to emulate Superman or another suchlike hero.

    Isnt that what this game also is? Be a hero?
    I want to be the toughest, strongest, meanest and backbone tanker of them all! But i dont wanna look like a pile of rocks or being nonstop on fire or look stupid in ice.

    I'm pretty good every weekday, although i'm in GMT+1 so might have to call it a night somewhat earlier then the others

    I'm currently testing possibility of 2 other sets, FF/sonic and sonic/elec. Although Archery is nice, i dont feel that comfortable with it (downside with both, doing tier-9 looses all my bubbles). If i decide to swap, i will catch up with a burst of solo

    Ok for the buff bind, very straight forward, replace the power name if u are kin or sortlike. Safe the stuff into a txt file to your (example) local C drive, ingame do a /bindloadfile c:\binds.txt (if u saved to binds.txt) and you're all set (no need to retype that line everytime you login, its once only).

    You can also at a ctrl+numpad for a 3rd buff, sonic can be the Clarify power at higher lvl.

    Basicly, pres numpad1 once to select teammate, 2nd time to buff him. then followed by a shift+numpad1 and he's fully buffed, continue with 2-8

    We can always replace leaving people by AT's that give the setup a stronger effect (tanker, troller).

    Sonic gives +56% (slotted) resist(ex.psi)
    And the mez-protection
    Debuff has ST -30% and teamtoggle -30%. And Liquify says it does -def/-acc/knockdown, however Nofuture says its hold.

    Now to think up my name and find out my build, i'm stuck on the toggles and my end-usage (with leadership i have 4 toggles, 1 being really end-heavy).

    Thats a good alternative for having no FF, but i gues quite a few might be stuck with powerchoices. I still have to plan my build fully, but i gonna go for stamina anyway (to have a solo-escape).
  14. afaik it should be target-aoe, as it does hit more then 1 mob (if close).

    yesterday i reached 38 with my traps, detonator is lovely

    My main home is Defiant, we do have our own SG at union but i'm good with anything Lets not be too optimistic yet, many of the 'all AT' things die not much later.

    I'm going sonic/archery
    So on top of the massive acc/resist debuff, i bring the massive resist buff-bubble(and hold/imm/stun protection) with a empathstyle CM (although its lvl26 iirc)..
  17. We can discuss this very long, but clearly you never played a elec/fire/elec. It totaly rely on playstyle, a safe ranger can even pick ice for best AoE, best does not always mean damage-wise.

    They all have great AoE abilities, but at the end its playstyle that makes the best of it.

    I pick sonic. Mostly for aoe mez resist (hold/imm/stun) and pretty high reist 15% base bubble and 20% bubble, so everyone gets (32+24) 56% resist next to dark (neg)nrg/psi resist we should hit cap on (neg)nrg. And if we can get a melee tank/scrapper can do a -60% also on top of dark.

    Emp i have already (28def), rad also (21troller), FF just isnt my think.

    Interesting, my granite is quite maxed on defence (no pool though) but can ditch out tremendous damage due 60% bonus recharge. In team i mostly use taunt, footstomp and fireball, here and there a melee power to keep most things wacking me.

    I see scrankers more like having less powers of the shields. A inv with only TI, unyielding and invincibility, no taunt and all attacks. They do not focus on gathering the group, but random (like scrappers) pick mobs one-on-one.

    Namecalling is done too easy Blaster with 3 melee (/nrg or /elec) is already a blapper and TA/arch is basicly always a offender.

    But namecalling doesnt change your playstyle

    I already gave TA on my MM (wich is a nightmare, but still) and i try to vary my character as much as possible Got dark also on MM, /rad on my troller, already have a emp defender, Kin isnt really my style (thats redraw time) as sonic only has 1 debuff and 1 aoe, rest is buff or toggle. Ok final one is FF, but i'm not that fan of it :P But if no one is going TA, i still can consider it, perhaps it work better on Defenders then on MM .

    Nice idea, on defiant i have a lvl18 sonic/psi defender, probably can free up 1 more slot if if needed/i like to try another set.

    Sets i would take are TA/arch, storm/elec, sonic/psi, kin/elec and dark/sonic.

    I more got the feeling he's talking about weapon-attack -> idle -> attack (thus redraw). As he says: weapon draw animation time + plus attack animation time.

    So going weapon -> 2ndairy attack -> weapon has a significant delay compared to non-weapon attackchain. Specialy powers like the 2ndairy immobilize or even webnade/stun should be done while holding the weapon, like the inherent power of your archtype.

    This is quite noticable if u use ignite alot combined with a 2ndairy immobilize and compare it when u use freezeray/ignite.
