    Archery Blaster

    Indeed, Archery itself is a wonderfull set.

    My most enjoyable toon is AR, being said the lower damage dealer compared to others. Yet with new defiance, some juicy Procs it makes a wonderfull set. Same goes for Archery, by far the most enjoyable mini-nuke of all sets.

    Now just to wait for Devs to put TA secondairy to blasters, then i got myself a new blaster

    Main reason i think you hardly see 50 Archeries, its mostly SL damage. Something often avoided due it being rather common resisted. However there are quite a few archery 50s, they just lvling other toons now
  3. I gave it a run on the test server, it doesnt seem to be affected there. Although dmg% isnt displayed in the enhancement window.

    It might be a live-server only issue, yet my pets now are mostly set/proc IO slotted wich i do not wanna waste.
  4. Resist based is already worse then def based on a stalker (WP however got +HP and selfheal with elemental defence).

    Melee is ok, i dont really like the elec melee as its too much of a copy of SS/EM with some elec effects. (and jacobs ladder looks stupid )

    With the upcomming buffs to stalkers, afaik Elec hardly will benefit in their AoE. As the tier9 melee power is a pet (summon location with TP) afaik it doesnt benefit crits.
  5. Come to think of it, i do remember my necro attack (the single shot dark beam thing) was doing nearly the same damage as my graveknight version (36 me, 39 grave). While my grave should have 90ish% dmg buff and my attack only slotted with 16% dmg.
  6. The normal IO's ones or the 'rare' ones?

    i havent seen any decrease in damage on my pets, specialy my graveknight is still doing lovely dmg. Its slotted with normal IO's and 2 crafted ones (achilles heel proc and acc/dmg/end pet IO).

    I'll give it a go tonight, i asume normal SO's would work so i can compare.

    True, the 'elite' stalkers will increase their strength, but imho more important, the 'avarage' will get boosted to a more acceptable lvl

    As for defiance 2.0, it made way better balance among all sets, greater benefit for the 'mass player'.

    Quick and dirty build, but all the needed powers are there.

    I put Superspeed late, as you probably get the 2 travel powers from bank missions earlier. Rest is basicly pick em when you get them, calltrops is optional wich you can swap with a attack if you prefer. Same with the triangle, i never took it but it has a decent regen.

    I went for Scorpion shield for the def.stacking. Protector bubbles, FFG and the shield, lovely defence

    health/stamina is mainly if you spam heavy, if you can live without you can condider aid other/self for extra survivability.

    Wich i left out: 2 attacks (let the pets do, so u focus on debuffs), photon grenade (i never saw used for it,specialy with 4 seeker drones going), Detonator (it is lovely on necro, but damage isnt really that awsome and long recharge).

    Bane, i clearly say a defender with limited MM abilities. It can summon some pets, can debuff some, immobilise some, do bitty dmg, team support (leadership). Aka, the weak bitty-of-all.

    The dull pain, i say health-panic button. Health button if perma, panic button in moments needed. Yet, i say: dull pain is not a heal. It is NOT a heal. People say spider got a heal, it isnt.

    And yes, only part where you might be right: i might mixed up the names. However, it still aply to both sets (spider and widow)

    If you prefer picking selective words out of my post, fine. Yet dont try to make into 'you are wrong, i am right' story.

    Night Widows are nothing like doms. They have no real mez, and few ranged atatcks. Fortunatas are potentially more dom-like, depending on how you build them, there are a lot of options.

    Night Widow powers are geared more towards single target burst damage, with a sideline in team buffing. The same goes for banes really. Banes get more ranged attacks, but they are reletively weak compared to thier melee attacks.

    Banes are nothing like an MM, it is crab spiders that get lots of pets.

    If you only use a Dull Pain power as a panic button you are woefully underutilising the power on whatever AT you have it on.

  12. Did devs ever stated or explained what the 'role' of a Bane will be? Kheldians were pretty straight forward (jack of all trades), widows tend to go domi style.

    Bane more sounds like a defender with limited MM abilities.

    edit: btw, i dont see a dullpain power as heal. Just a health-panic button, so i dont see it as 'valid' defense point.
  13. So far i'm pretty dissapointed on the damage output. Note that i only got to 12, but based on other AT's their gun attacks are pretty lousy (heavy burst my butty).

    As i may believe redtomax, it wont get much better later on. (most powers go around 1-1,5 dmg index).

    Only difference, you get some pets that can help out.
  14. There is no cap on recharge, its just that the formula makes it 'infinitive', this case impossible. (if duration/recharge ratio is larger then 1:6 - consider impossible - we're talking 500% recharge buff then).
  15. Ok, maybe i'm reading wrong, but imho every AT can reach crazy high defensive numbers with the top of the bill IO's. (on blaster topic i beleive someone made a softcap defence blaster build).

    They should be looked at 'out of the box', specialy when i see lines such as 'perma hasten'. 90% of players will never reach this, let alone all the IO's needed.

    Added, if i may asume redtomax got their numbers correctly, widows do considerable more base dmg.

    My 12 MM kept getting invites of 5-9 SoA's. They these 3 SoA's with Capital names kept following me wacking everything i wacked.

    As for new sets, elec set didnt make elec-only parties either. Was fun to do a /sea and see all SoA in party while all other AT were solo
  17. With a dom soloing an EB is rather easy, domination with a trashload of stacked holds and its simply waiting.

    Ice just isnt bouyaka dmg, dispite they added dmg to that frozen aura power. As long you pop a bunch of reds you can ditch out enough dmg to take the EB with ease. You can crank it up with a bunch of +dmg bonus of IO's and take assault, but just remind tankers are (next to defender) the lowest damage dealers. (EM and SS minor exclusion)
  18. Good point on khelds, thats probably why Bane will be the WotM (worst), simply because the 'pro' said they suck.

    There are many gimped sets, AT or sortlike in this game, never they have done anything to put them in line with the other possible sets. Even less experienced players can get along, at least in Heroes. Villians is way more 'set specific' team picking.. sadly.

    The (imho) mistake devs made on bane.. weapons. You are nearly forced to go pure mace or pure gun (bad choice imho), basicly forcing you to be 'job specific', rather being such versatile as widow or spider can be.

    Whatever happens to banes, or every VEAT, there will be lots of lvl50's. The ammount of PL'ed VEAT's will go higher then the lvl50 fire/kin's on heroes.

    But how do Soldiers show up in search after their 2nd tree? Teams wont know if they pick a spider or a bane, chances to get kicked of the team?
  19. I only slotted calltrops once with the nrg damage PROC (believe from the slow set) wich afaik only triggers when you 'cast' it. (not as i expected every 'tick').

    I was thinking the same, going for the psi damage proc. Perhaps you can ask also in Corrupter section, they might have it already slotted.

    My missions often last longer then 2 minutes, mine is slotted in Lich and hardly has to resummon it (he's only ranged fighter). However even at the end, the orange triangles still hover around all my pets, way over the 2 minutes.

    Bugged or WAI.. dont know
    (the combat numbers also keep showing the 10%).
  21. Thats the part i just cant accept. If a widow is 'designed' to be able to do psi/claw attacks without redraw, yet a claw scrapper doing a heal or epic attack gets the redraw. (side funny one: brawl and kick dont redraw, yet punch from fighting pool does...)

    Why give them a gun and a mace in the first place?

    Do spiders actualy suffer from redraw while doing gun and backpack attacks?

    Anyway, too much OT'ish going me thinks
  22. Ice/dark is quite fun to play, i have one running around on testserver.

    The -acc really works lovely with a defset, combined with the selfheal, the double end-drainer and hibernate you become a rather solid tanker.

    Isnt that being designed to flaw then?

    Widow has the ability to use psi attacks while their claws remain, a pretty unique thing. Reason for that, it apears to be designed this way. Could a Spider use their backpack while still having the gun drawn? Ok, Bane would be a problem, true

    But if redraw cost 0,5sec each time, asume you redraw roughly 40 times a mission (my AR/Ice or Kat/Regen easily reaches this), its already 20seconds of attacktime you miss out. Specialy on the already underperforming Bane, this is quite alot

  25. Bosses and EB's should never be the problem melee side, but more your defensive side. They dont have super regen (outside those dark mages of CoT with their stupid healing) so just keep pondering them and they will go down eventualy.

    Its more how long you can last against them, thats where i see dark lacking abit. The heal (afaik) is a tohit one, without tough your SL resist isnt much more then fire.
