Indeed, sounds like the VEAT full teams, having softcap defence due 1 power alone. But it has no active damage aura, so you need to wack stuff -

Why not? Captain America, Mr Shield himself also have an increased health regen. Wonder Woman i can recall having a shield once in a while has powers close to Hercules himself, not some stupid defense.
Added, if you prefer more realistic, whielding a shield in such maner requires great training (as seen for example on 300), thus increased natural strength would be logical.
Gamewise, take a look at Paladin (WoW), Paragon (GW), Guardian (AoC), and sortlike.

Wow? 25% bonus dmg per mob? We're talking 250% raw bonus damage to every single attack with 10 mobs. Add buildup and enchancements and we're going 450%ish?
Added, i dont see the -dmg part in it. Oh well
I agree, aid self really wont fit the theme if you go medival, only dark would suffice as 'heal' (well..). -

True.
But with the current set, i really dont see much survival in a tanker without big support of a team. Even ice as defence based has several powers that lower their damage drastic (-30% aura, hibernate, HP boost, end recovery).
With no panic (numbers i gave prob be higher for tankers) smashing through defence will hurt, alot. -

My gues, like previous added sets, PI will be flooded with lowbies and main streets remain empty -
OK so it looks like the numbers are "roughly" (for brutes/scrap/etc.):
deflection: 11.25% melee, 3.75% s/l res, 11.25% psi res, +x/x with active defense
battle agility: 11.25% range/aoe toggle, +x/x from deflection
phalanx fighting: .75% def all per ally, 7 max
active defense: mez prot 3m20s rech, 2m duration
against all odds: taunt, +dmg per melee target
grant cover: 8.4% def all
shield charge: 60 cone
true grit: 3.75% f/c/e/n/t res, 112.44 hp @ 50 brute
one with the shield: 2x% res, 6m20s rech, 2m duration
What I didn't see in the screenshots was how much of a boost deflection & BA get from the synergies...hopefully at least 4% def unslotted.
All in all, I think it looks interesting at the least, and worthy of a few super teams.
I don't really think Shield Charge belongs in a defensive set but hey, like others have said, it will make elec/shield VERY amusing.
Soloers have 2 options for powers to skip - it's always good to have options!

I dont know, no heal, no regen, very very little resist, mainly defence but no 'extra' migation (such as ice slow), while tier9 is a resist (so SR beats that). -
afaik repel and KB are different.
Active Shield, wrong tooltip? (short duration, long recharge, for a mez prot skill)
Also, tankers getting location based defence? Afaik no other set has this (apart from global, like inv), but no specific ranged/melee/aoe.
And against all odds, bonus damage! That i sooooo love.

There are few that can take me down (clockwork was tricky but thats just initial, GW is lame, the other psi lady is annoying yet doable - or that stupid FF lady who goes intangle nonstop), there is none i can take down

Playing GW for over 2 years, i must say i'm pretty dissapointed about the shields. Only the Talsorian looks very nice, the rest is so 'plain'. I mean, a tower, eagis, tormented or even the 300-style round shield.

Nice summery. Although, that they finaly discovered programmed things from cryptic devs might give a peek what they got in mind on their new MMO. Interesting.
Overall nice stuff, barrage i not sure about but combined with the rech resist (yeey another power to pick in my already way too tight build), it might be ok.
Kheldian i like most, since i still want to hit 50 with one (HEAT i dont like). I see khelds as backup-tank, they got footstomp (great migation) and self heal.
But, i rather would have seen the continuing of weapon-redraw, power synergy and QoL features. Mace balancing is nice, but there is more then just mace(only 2 AT use this?)

Sinester being the evil counterside of Sinergy, same looks but a rotten face. (story wise, he is a failed clone experiment of Nurisha). Name suited very well when CoV came out.
Soaring 9 Phoenix - kudo's for the one who knows from wich game this isBased on a bow/flame set, any AT.
Most of my toons have a evil counterside, i have no real favorite name, as long they sound good, suit the set and match in my entire CoH story. -

Well, i would like to see the blur effect while traveling at super high speed.
Just like many racegames when u pres the nitro button (or just drive fast), the whole screen goes blurry. It would enhance the feeling that you actualy fly superfast, combined it matches the 'flies faster then a bullet' theme.
(afaik its just a 'layer' gimmick, some games you can even just turn it on and off).
Add TP should be faster, like a blink power -

Yes, my mistake. i meant to say they basicly got 3 servers in 1 (english/german/french). But afaik, parts of the language of zudunkf and viligance are coded serverside, so might give problems to do the same. -
Reminds me of Chaos Arena in Cabal. It starts in a big arena, few mobs as breakfast. But as time goes by, more and stronger mobs will spawn, eventualy spawning so many you just hardly cant stay alive.
At the end, a boss spawns, you need to kill it to succesfully win the round, while 40+ mobs are wacking you -

Pop tier 9, you reach resist that most can dream off.
My random list:
-Hold weapon while casting 'non'attack weapon powers (traps, forcefield, sonic etc).
-Elec Static discharge, reduce casttime or increase damage.
-Make elec animation not always 'hit' the mob, even if it misses. (or just make it a projectile set).
-Make sonic buffs be casted with the hands or clearly from the mouth, it aint psi-powers as its casted from the forhead.
-Make granite in more flavors (aka different 'outfits').
-Remove the rooted animation 'woo i put my hands in my side, look at me'
-Let all secondairy or primairy be castable _WITH_ a weapon, redraw nightmare (AR/ARCH blaster/corr, scrapper/stalk/brute/tank DB, axe, etc etc - but also thorn assault, spines).
-Make passsive pets (traps FFG) follow their master more accurate (they are currently 'view' driven).
-remove the gayish walking with DB, Bow, spines.
-tone down the 'noise' on earth control.
Then my dreated merc's on MM.
-remove the redraw, completly.
-replace some DoT-powers with instant damage ones.
-FIX the animation normalisation, like AR blaster/corrupter
-remove stealth or make it usefull.
-make snipe usable in shorter range also (they only use it at 100ft or such).
-give turret to commando (it was once with him).
-make medic heal non-interuptable (even non-dmg debuffs interupt him).
-replace serum with a GOOD power, such as airstrike or napalm (its nowhere near the effects of other sets - ok except repair maybe).
Now a 'extreme one', make /TA usable for a gun. So that all the debuffs can be shot from the launch-barrel of the gun (like crabspider or the APP of heroes). redraw is a nightmare.
Even though they claim redraw has been fixed and its within their casting time, its not. I play 12 characters with 1 or more weapons, i loose stupid ammount of time redrawing while they can be easily synergised with their non-weapon seconairy/primairy (like your origen power, always castable).
So overal, make more synergy between primairy and secondairy in all ATs. -

Dual blades always sound cool to me, but i just cant stand the animations. My best i tried was lvl20, i gave up
(along with the new [censored] walk they added with any toon that dual whields or sortlike - bow, spines, db.. no not my style). -

Recall might work greatly tooOnce you know the range of exp and toggle buffs (sonic for example), TP friend is great to use

Basicly the highest download you would get with CoH is 2,5ish GB (if you start with a empty exe file). I just dont understand those ISP's of today anymore that still uses pathetic bandwidth thingies, highly outdated based on clean html browsing, but failing to keep their limits with today standards.
