    How does the slotting work then? Does that increase the strength of the KB or such?

    Great example of knockdown = knockback below 1 is buckshot from AR.
    It has s 1.246 mag knockback, any mob that has a bit of protection will get a knockdown (its below 1)*, any mob with no protection gets a knockback (above 1).

    (*excluded the lvl modifier on mag)
  4. If a fire troller can 'partly' command 3 fire imps, or a dark dead 'thing', a stone/ice midget of even a concentration of kinetic energy, why would a MM not work?

    They could be in the same style, ice imps, ice midget, ice warrior. Same for fire. Aka, elemental MM/wizard. Robot is the same story, would fit a hero side also.

    (do a bindsavefile to check them in a txt editor).

    Only question remains, how does it look like in combat. For me, thats where i decide to pick the set or not (DB i never took).
  7. Serious, go check the gameplay movies on youtube of CO, it's nowhere near CoX alone.

    (and just like GW2, nobody knows what they are doing with CoX atm. Maybe they are building a CoX2 engine, you dont know).

    Since they bought the IP, they got freedom in the engine. They make things that cryptic never wanted, never did.

    How can you tell your team, they need to be toe-to-toe with you to benefit from 10ish% defence, while if they stay 30ft away they are pretty sure hardly getting agro at all?

    I already having a hardtime telling PuG's they should NOT sure knockback powers when i'm on my inv, or slap the blaster another time to stop pulling mobs (aka agro the entire group).

    Imho, these powers are too situational, totaly uncommon to happen during the 50 lvls thus making this set still not viable for tankers. Added, like kheldian, i hate 'team-dependant' powers.
  9. But be honest, why worry?

    Sure, we as 'community' can make a change, but 'we' couldnt stop the closure of Brighton, we couldnt stop rednames to leave, we cannot control the future of CoH. Is our call being heard by the NC staff oversea? I doubt it. Yes, something is wrong on the EU side, but no it wont die, neither i forsee NC will do anything about this.

    Just accept and enjoy the ride. Specialy as we are the 'vocal minority' in this game, (nofi) just as long NC keep having a healthy US server they care little about the EU server.

    But you cant blame them, they got 2 major titles comming, they had a few flaws and cant risk anyother one.

    The more i'm worried about the team you get in. Like Inv/WP need mobs around them to be stronger, an knockback/repel needs to be banned from the team.
  12. The most logical reason is the fact they now fully control the game. If Cryptic is sceptic versus certain additional features or sortlike, now NC can do whatever they please, including 'toying around' to make new features.

    There might be some arguments, mostly if Cryptic already said making a new hero MMO, it would be stupid as competitor to keep getting your engine from your future 'enemy'.

    But, as we al seen already, how great a game looks, how nice the features may be.. it will release, some panic and live continue as it was.

    LotrO, DDO, mostly AoC, perfect examples of 'the killers' that game, showed off abit and drowned in the 'world of MMO' pool. There are (said) 1,5 billion gamers in the world, they swap a game faster then they swap their car.

    Wait and see, thats all to be done. Let NC do their thinking, i'm sure they now know what they doing (note: now).
  13. Dark is like fire, when they didnt fix the heal yet. You can hit great numbers on SL, decent on the other side, but you fail at any issue that can kill a tank.

    End drain, -recharge, -slow, -tohit, -stack stun (inv, stone and ice can counter this each their own way), but mostly.. a HP buff. (WP by default, rest has HP boost).

    Imho 500mil aint worth it to make a set viable, inv stone and ice out of the box (after def vs res chance) can work out very well, fire need a minor tweak (alot tohit to keep consume hitting).

    With an avarage mission, or team, its close to impossible to stick shoulder to shoulder, some AV or sortlike you dont even wanna be that close by the simple thing, once it bypass the defence you're dead.

    simple one, the wolfie melee wack, its a cone.. a +3 boss version can nearly 1 shot any squishy. Superteams are an illusion, a first week experience (VEAT) that fades as time goes by leaving you with a below avarage set that wont contribute as other sets can. People will jump back to their initial role and it remains to be seen if a shielder can be a true tanker.

    Nah, i already setting up another char on my other account, just to counter anything shield set might encounter, logic set would be thermal.

    But a AS started on a SS-moving character, thus 400-500ft down the road already, still hitting.. is not quite realistic

    Well, lets say i play 4 hours a day, 1 hour each character in with avarage i can work off 4 bars.

    So i need 4 days to gain 4 bars on all chars, but i need 9 days to work off the 4 bars

    So by the time i'm done, i already gained 5 more bars.

    I just started to read it, i got to the on patrol part. 10 bars max double exp, thus being logged of for 10 days.

    THIS IS HEAVEN I TELL YOU! The call of every altoholic has been heard, has been granted! 36 characters now, this will go up to 50

    (actualy WoW and Cabal i actualy lvl by the offline exp rewards :P)

    Aaah thats a bummer.

    I wonder, if a tanker gets too much -slow on his butty, there is a chance Active defence wont be up when it need to be up. In that line (as end-drainers are the only power that can currently drop mez-protection - specialy with the new non-toggle dropping), isnt that 'wrong' on a tanker?

    CoT has those mages and those frosti guys, Council got those snipershot things, Crey got cryo gun, afaik even Shadow shards have those yellow flying things where some of them dont even have a tohit check (CoT for example).

    Afaik the set has no -slow resist, you need 80% to get it perma (thus give or take 3 recharge SO).

    Added, brawler and kuji-something both have redraw.

    Bright side, i saw numbers hitting 40% defence positional, making it very strong versus basicly any element. (number is with Weave, CJ, manouvers and 2x steadfast). Downside, once it hits, it hits very hard without OwtS, you only have 15/5% base resist. So with tough you can nearly cap SL with OwtS, kinda the same WP does but WP can counter massively because of the huge regen they gain.

    Overal, i dont know, i probably wont make a tanker with shields. If i would pick a defence set, i prefer having several panic buttons (such as ice has) incase things really go wrong. Solo wise a scrapper imho would be off better (along with brute), teamwise it is a lovely base set for any thermal or sonic buffer in the team (they can give upto 50% resist).

    120sec duration, 360 cooldown, 200% and you're there. 70% hasten, 100% IO, 30% global?

    its like 40ish% resist all nonstop? Tough/wave added and its nearly softcap along 70% SL (rest 50ish%) all the time?

    (partly from WoW, where you can select a few)
    -Taskforce
    --Manticore
    --Statemen
    --respec 1/2/3
    --etc etc
    -Missions
    --Any
    --Co-op zone (RWZ for example)
    --exemp/sk yes-no
    -Hunting
    --GM hunt for abrosio (or whatever its called)
    --badge hunt (specify mob/badge?)
    --Mob hunt (sewers, PI, RWZ merits)

    As said above, team leader and teamsize.

    People being in a TF should be tagged, no need to ask for invite or join.

    Gamewise, redesign newspaper missions, traveling at low lvl is a plain nightmare, specialy if you have no travelpower along with high lvl mobs. Give leader all mission-entries on their map, so they dont have to tag each to see wich is closest.

    Regarding AV's, how did Ice for example handle versus Recluse or any high hitting mob? Other sets have rather high (if not capped) SL resist, would help big time on incomming damage while tanking 1-2 AV's.

    Such line, i never seen a katana or broadsword give the whielder a super damage boost, neither a gun spray unlimited bullets.

    Then, along your line of view, several powers of this set have NOTHING to do with a shield: Phalanx, active, AaO (except the deflect, but inv/wp/ice does the same) and offcourse One with the shield, wich is basicly the WP/Inv combo tier9.

    Even, remove the shield and you got a VEAT/Inv/SR set that can gain the deflection by its armor.

    As i said on DB, if i want to play a proper set, i play another game.
