Whats the best situation to use ignite? ATM im using it to stop enemies getting into melee range thanks to the fear component but i want to be able to use the huge damage too. Do i have to wait until the higher levels to get more status effect powers or this the best method of ignite for a ranged style blaster?
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on your secondary. If you got a immobilize (fire, elec, ice, dev, psi) you can use it to keep the mob locked. Same for any hold power (AR iceray, secondairy). I got icepatch so its even more fun using ignite.
Added, few mobs are immume to fear, such as drones. -

The status of a 'squishy' is very easily avertable for short durations, also. Force of Nature, two tier-2 purples, Drain Psyche etc. And, being a Blaster, a short duration is most likely more time than you need to do your thing.
Edit: And, of course, breakfrees.

But that would be once u reach the final pool at 41. Only with a mez active i go melee, rikti, freak or lost bosses can do devastating melee hits. Melee is a choice, but in the time i can do a TF i can do more damage just trashing out some ranged powers.
And breakfree, tier1/2 nonstop firing often clears the job
(AR actualy wins on range, tier 1 is 90ft, tier 2 is 100ft, while all others are 80ft base). -
I dont they are that strong, several powers can whipe tier 1 in seconds, such as a few nice +4/+5 longbow flametrowers (burn and the cone) or a nice AV AoE (any can do) can whipe em out in seconds.
Cut down to 6 and add 2 sonic, forst or thermal corrupters, now we're talking. (i say cap resist everything?)

Wouldn't a Psi blaster be better suited to a pure range build?
Most of the attacks have a higher base range compaired to the rest of the sets.

Spitting out pointy things out of your forehead or trash out a load of bullets along with some lovely flames from a costumizable gun?
Naaah, AR is nicer
Added that tier 1 and 2 are perfect for 2 great IO's. The KB recharge and achilles heal will proc at any time (tier 1/2 can fire through mez). -
It has been done before that already, the GvE pack (pocket D teleport and that jetpack/jumpthing), but also the sprint powers.
Even the veteran powers can be seen like this (sand of mu, axe, nemesis staff etc).
The cooldown of these powers hardly give a true advantage over normal players, its a nice addition but nothing more then a kheldian has a travel from start or a kin basicly dont need a travel power.
I'm pretty sure they are very carefull on new packs, or at least make sure they have little to no impact. -

Using text rather than pre-made images is going to be easier to administrate plus will generally work better for people who use non-standard browsers. (Screen readers for example.)
Personally I was amazed that it is a <table> free design and seems fairly standards compliant.
[/ QUOTE ]
GDlib anyone?
Added that screenreaders pick the caption part of <img tags, or easier, make it overlapping the normal text.
The bigtext on the original site were nicer, combined with the the new flash thingies on the right with nice smooth text it just looks cheap.
And sigh, [censored] forums... -

It doesn't render properly in Opera, the sidebar text is mangled. Works in Konquerer thoughAnd in IE6 under WINE, oddly, since the US boards reported it hanging their IE6.
Tis a nice site though, personally I don't like fullscreen background images, but the side links and sub-menu systems are very nice. As is the look-and-feel of the whole site
[/ QUOTE ]
IE6 here working properly.
But it looks a bit ... errm.. cheap. nofi offcourse. But taking rendered font-images rather then normal (bigsize) font would been better. (specialy on the left menu). -

While we're here ... if you have any feedback (constructive!) about the new website design, please don't hesitate to post and let us know. We'll forward on to the US web team and our own EU team.

I would, if the forum stop getting borked -

Build up + Flamethrower + Full Auto = Mini Nuke that is back up every 40 seconds or so, half that with hasten.
Inf is AR/Nrg, and all though i use him as a blapper and not ranged as mentioned here, he is my favourite toon ever and makes it hard for me to play others, as he was so much fun from 1 - 50.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, specialy with defiance 2.0 it can bring up some great damage. But if you need to be mobile (pvp perhaps), the rooting is your biggest enemy. (those 2 root you for like 6 seconds?)
I can also combine the corner icepatch/ignite, lovely damage while you can continue on other mobs. -
Partly because they lack the 2nd boost, Aim. Add up some rooting, redraw (with /secondairy) and mainly SL damage (ignite and flametrower arent really 'spammers'), lets say they are not top of the blaster-chain

It won't affect the Afraid Fear effect of Ignite because its technically a pet casting it (the ignited patch) rather than you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yet BU and sortlike buffs do buff the pet (as long u cast buff before ignite).
I got a AR/ice, pretty much my most enjoyable blaster. Ok the /ice part is weak (but u get a stacked hold and icepatch), but AR is really fun to play with. -
[ QUOTE ]
I believe the funds should go to all three equally divided. Why play favourites?

With ^^. Although DTWT is worldwide and as far i can see the other 2 UK only. And i'm not from UK -

Just to confirm, I was referring to needing to prepare a site for each language.
I don't yet know when we'll have the new site design for Europe, I'm afraid. I will keep you as informed as I can, however.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can we first get the new forum... this one is.. errr.. pretty borked. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sounds intresting. It will be good to see Hero 1 but he will be OWNED by me
[/ QUOTE ]
You should have done that already by now
He's the Honoree in RWZ TF -

Honestly anything MM with secondary dark is a winner.
So if you like your concept of playing Mercenary sure it isn't the most powerfull , but it sure doesn't fail .
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, the set itself has flaws. Like the LRM missile, hardly ever fired, the stealth of the seals is basicly useless and the medic has a interuptable heal (even powers such as sonic grenade or quicksand. Like the teargass grenade, it has a huge AoE, but why not lower the recahrge and give it a smaller radius, making it more often usable. Not sure if Commando has beanbag though, would have been nice. -
So last night, (4am or so), i was checking Discovery Science. They had this program called 'Scifi saved my life' or something, all about The Matrix and the 'link' to reallife (could it be possible).
And so, halfway, they were talking about Enter the Matrix, where you can be such superhuman person. Then it happened, i saw this man flying through a city, i was like OMGBBQ!11!!
THAT WAS CITY OF HEROES!
And it was true, they even were talking about the game, being a true superhero, jumping flying powers etc. I will be terrible ashamed now, since i forgot the guy's nameThe baldy guy from Brighton (sorry i'm about to leave on holiday, so i rush type it). They mentioned Paragon Dance Party, do /dance and stuff
See, we can get 'free' advertisement, but really.. at 4am in the night not many people are watching.
Anyway, CoH was on TV!!!
So, i'm off on holiday, good luck and be happy! -

I think the main bonus of necro is their stupidly good survivability. When you get to 50 and realise your henchmen dont actually need you around any more its a harsh rejection. I know the mercs will always need me cause without me they're nothing NOTHING!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the whole issue, basicly all other sets are great in survivability. Thugs; keep up your def bubbles and they trash out huge ammount of damage, bots; 2 healing pets, great damage, stuns etc, ninja; also for def and the tier 3 one does nice stuff (rain of fire is plain is annoying but the fear is great) and the smokebomb (perma) is double dmg nonstop on 1 pet.
Mercs, ya well, they need imho way too much help to be 'elite soldiers', they wont go further then a bunch of mobs that carry a gun and think they look cool. -
Active Defense, that power will be meeeh untill you got it fully slotted at lvl12, or worse.
Not untill 70% recharge (200/1.7=117.6sec) it becomes perma, untill then i just dont wanna run around with it.
So either you have it 6slotted at lvl12, or wait untill you can reach some SO's at 20-22. Before that, only hasten can pull it down a bit. So either you have a friendly empath (i believe all others get their mez-prot later on) or you are pretty fooked (bf is your only friend) in the pre-20 TF's.
Assumable the Scrapper version lingers around 30-35% all, maybe i just prefer going scrapper. -
So on paper they are best tank with a thermal. Trashload extra on resist, forge (another dmg boost) and a heal, pretty much everything they need. Sonic being a great second.
Since def is already skyrocket, FF/Frost is no good.
Primairy i would say SS, Rage perma to bump up the dmg output even greater. Dont believe tanker getting broadsword, sadly though. -
I wonder if its really that overpowered.
Dispite Ice has lower defence, it has -slow, it has hibernate, endurance drainer and a HP boost. (both have the -dmg aura right?).
So its kinda like SR for tankers, no gimmicks, no heal/bonus/nothing, just lots of def and a once in a while tier9 power.
But i though the dmg aura was first mob 15% and rest lower? -
I remember the days where Blizzard was unaffected by damage boosts, unlike all other nukes. That was really really bad.
Nowaydays is great, it cant beat elec/nrg or fire nukes, but it does lovely damage, synergy great with snow storm. Although my feeling that my AR/ice does overall more damage with FullAuto. (slotted for range also).
Note, EMP is not that great though. The recharge is really long, it does do a great AoE stun but way too short (or u need monsterslotting). My ice/nrg can increase the duration with powerboost, makes it a bit more usefull. -
True, it rely alot on /secondairy also, but like necro even works pretty wonderful with /TA. I made a necro/TA on the US just to see if my weak mercs are related to /TA. But my /TA necro's actualy work very lovely, both single target and (minor)AoE. Ok my /trap is more fun, but they still are great to play.
And /dark pretty much suits every MM petset -
lvl9, is not really representative isit?
