Im sure it is when your charging players two or three times for one addon pack :P

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or blame yourself? Specialy those triggerhappy keepclicking people (friend of mine same story), i purchased the pack on 3 accounts and all done without issues. (with a timeout, just await the payment email, all set).

    stone/fire tank

In pvp stone wasnt always that great, mostly because your mezz protection (or dimish, wahts the name in pvp?) is either rooted or granite. Both come with penalties.

For PvE it has great AoE abilities, 2 from /fire and another one if you pick pyre epic pool.

If you trow a trashload inf at it, it can be worth a decent farmer. With only rock armor and ... the nrg armor, you have defence against the 2 most common attacks. With enough +recharge you can have perma EE and extra +regen for rooted.

  4. Why would you want a all flashy installer program, if just a copy/past and run the updater is enough to get playing?

If you are that desperate on a installer, make one yourself. Enough tools to be found for it.

They have chosen to keep it all on their side, no mirrors no iso's or such. Cheaper to distribute, easier to maintain.

Personaly i like that system, just like GW. Just a few MB download, run it, let it go and its all done ready to go.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
It's making more money than most of thier games. Afaik only GW and Linege II make more, and then its not that much more.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Last reports showed that CoH was behind all their other games (LA1/2, GW) but where GW is seeing a 'seasonal' trend decline of income (prob due GW2).

But, i think its saved to say for US/europe, CoH is still a big income.

But now i play on the US servers, things have changed in my view. Where EU seems quiet, 'dying', evenings in US is packed with people.

Sadly (or good if u never liked it), due MA, PI got way less crowded then before. Way less spamming for farms, but now its scattered all over the zones where a MA office is located.

End of the line, its good..

Ok the Magic Pack has definitely been attracting a lot of people.

We are in the process of assigning more resources to the store to help alleviate the current issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Alot is a understatement.

I was earlier in US servers, just playing around with the animations and costumes, within minutes i had a whole crowd around me asking for that tarot buff and looking at the animations.

However for my villain bright light morphing? Thats not evil!

But, Booster pack 2 is a succes The bigger the succes, the more we can expect

And for that male costume, whats that guy with the metal face in a huge cape? From spiderman or such? Really suits great, saw a guy earlier with such costume.
  7. [ QUOTE ]

    Saaweeeeet

And that new costume... damn looks awsome
  8. With some patiences, got them on my 3 accounts

Those change costume animations are COOL Ok ok, they are copies of exsisting powers (rod, CM, summon, WW) but really awsome done.

ok, downside, /cc command doesnt activate it
  9. If you have other IO sets that grant sortlike defence, it is favourable to take that set up. If you have no other defence IO bonus, the odd 1-2% give little to no difference in terms of survival.

And for a blaster, taking things down before you go down, i would go for a faster nukeout. (asume you are elec/elec, popping a blue and straight after that Powersink gets you back full end in no time - from the odds that survive the nuke).
  10. The annoying part, each time i visit the store, i always get to see the Europe version. How can i tell those .... that i'm trying to buy packs for my US account? (yes, mini link for US version). I want my US account be the default browing one for the store.

No pack yet to be seen though
  11. Just think of it simple: it will only get worse.

I think the majority of players do not know you dont have to publish a story in order to play it with a team. The rating will probably make it slightly worse, not everyone is a perfect rating-giver and its always based on personal flavor.

I play my own ones, i play the ones my team offers. That is just enough to keep you busy, unless you want to dig through thousands of missions, where someone has made a very very good arc but yet got blown over by the trashload of low-quality submissions.
  12. On the US they made some very nice farming maps, as the 'big farm' only consist clearn all mobs it was just picking the right mobs with the right powers to rush through it.

Downside, its not easy resetable. By the looks, i think the 'help me plx PL ME!' people will be moving to the MA centres.

I have yet to test run it under Statesman TF conditions (the biggest stress test) but I presume it would preform a lot better than the high psi resist build.

    [/ QUOTE ]
STF isnt really a benchmark, as it rely also heavy on the rest of the team. Having a sonic and thermal in the team can cap out nearly any AT on resist, likewise on FF and frost for defence. (or hoarfrost for fire tankers).
  14. [ QUOTE ]

Very true but it can change your own attitude towards it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Most cases, away from it. From the majority of MMO's i recently visited again that were 'behind' on CoH, went ahead and went beyond.

Gameplay wise they changed alot, but what did change gameplaywise here? PvP perhaps, but the initial mission in/out, travel, in/out has never ever been changed. No alternatives ever been created, while others continue to offer way more 'ways' to spend your time.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
How about, take a break. Go into the wide open world, maybe play a little TF2, maybe have a run through an old favourite that's not an MMO. Then come back and beat the snot out of someone in the arena.

    [/ QUOTE ]
A break will not chance the priority of the developers. What are their future goals, what was their goal with MA? (apart from making own farm maps). To give a group of players the chance to make their own, while it will fade away in the 'avalange' of MA missions available?

If i look at their other game, guildwars, each month (basicly) there are new skill balancing patches, new builds to test and rebalance of pvp. The ammount of skills alone can keep you busy for weeks if not months to find new effective builds.

I play mostly US side, since there is little worry about getting a team, in huge variety. Its only there where you actualy meet heroes on the street, unlike EU where 99% is lingering in their own 'little instance'.

By a hand full of 'exploiters', they 'fix' problems that will hurt more people then helping them. Where is the changes in QoL issues, scenery enhancement, 'room of doom' fixes, or even just a simple more variation in maps. All i see (apart from MA) are quick 'n dirty fixes, not taking the core, but filling a hole by diggin a new one.
  16. Sadly, already today, same story. MA is fun and stuff at start, but already is a 'yaa.. ok.. next?' issue.

No fixes, no loving to underpowered classes, more gimped time into stupid pvp, thats it?

The worst part, each party i've been in, everyone was offering to play their MA mission cause it 'was soooo freaking cool', and yet fighting another trap of mindless mobs with just another look.

With Fire aren't you just swapping one weakness (Cascading defense failure in Ice) for others (Malta Sappers & Recharge Debuffs)?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sappers are not that hard if the team (or you) locks him down the moment he tries to attack. Some mobs still require priority over other mobs.

-recharge remains an issue with fire, specialy with /dark you rely alot on surounding mobs. Afaik the ice one (def/end one) is auto-hit based.

But at the end i focus on looks. Ice i never liked, same for dark. Not my style, dispite they might be 'great' to play. I've been born and raised with a granite, dispite back then the 'great tankers' were ice, inv or fire.

There is no 'best' tank, nor 'worse'. It is based on your playstyle, what you think is important (looks, abilities, survivability) and how/when you want to use it. I now have em all, each have pro's and con's.
  18. Painbringer would be better on the graveknights. They are lovely hard hitters, eventualy all of them get a nice selfheal (also 1 for you).

World of pain works good too, since 5 of your 6 pets will be in melee. Supress pain is imho bitty lame, but since they have their own healing also its quite ok to have. Enforce moral same story, good to have. 2 fully upgraded graveknights can dish out lovely damage and you boost it even further (it stacks ).

    I say, unlucky

You did slot your attacks with accuracies? In DO times i always went for at least 2, when IO's kick in having 40-50% acc is always nice.

Was looking into other avenues for the Ultimate godmode tank, how does this look?

    compared to granite tank?

Not super high res, but I have 2x heals, 1 every 12s and 1 every 4s.

    And 2 x +Endurance, 2 every 55s and

2 x Damage and to hit boosts.

Pretty proud of the build so what you think ?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Fire still is a very nice set to have, i havent checked up with the recent temp.protection changes, but afaik fire dont have -drain protection.

I would add BA though, else you have nothing to rely on except taunt and your attacks for agro. In that line, inv/dark would be a nice one too (wich lacks the healing, but has alot more defence and a very nice oooooh [censored] button).

Would Invul with Impervium Armour IO's 6 slotted in 5 res powers not give a good overall res to all inc psi?

Dunno if i'd have the slots for that tho :/

    [/ QUOTE ]
I only have 2 res powers, depending on your powerchoice you can increase this by 2.

I have granite/stoneskin as res, optional are Tough and that embrace armor (fire resist one).

But what are the odds you face a huge ammount of psi damage without any (healing) backup? Cheaper just to pop a purple then.
  22. SinergyX_EU

    Survivability

Pretty much every build has a hole, if you take the -recharge, -slow and -jump/fly for granted you overcome the big hole on perma granite.

I think a full IO inv set would do also pretty good, SL cap, trashload of defence (if mobs in melee) and quite a decent resist on non-SL. But i believe they also have no psi resist/defence.

Both have the HP boost, very good in cases you do get low on health, wich WP kinda lacks. Even fire can be quite decent, but -recharge will affect healing flame imho too much.

    [ QUOTE ]
I'd stick with it. Granite's are highly survivable but boy was it a mind-numbing experiene to reduce yourself to basically a rock almost incapable of movement and giving yourself a -recharge penalty. I found ice a far more enjoyable and action packed tank than my granite, and generally highly survivable too.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Dispite that (it may very on play style), ice just cant reach the "IAMTEHUBER NUFINHURTSME" feeling.

I just cant understand why people keep saying 'unmovable', while that is only the case while rooted. Specialy with a kin you move just as fast as any other, nulifying that whole issue. In granite alone you have about normal running speed wich is often good enough.

There is no set, no power, no outfit more suitable to reach the "IAMTEHUBER NUFINHURTSME" feeling then the big pile of rocks. Its huge, its scary.. its close to immortal. And those 3 penalties will never take away that feeling.

    Always keepa blue spare

Against drainers, be sure to keep rooted on, as that gives drain resistance and works very well.

(my initial build was footstomp -> aid self, remarkable usefull).

    Perma granite, my style

My primairy goal was to get rid of as much of the penalties as possible. Thus 3slot swift to get granite 'walkable', teleport when rooted gets added.

Enough LotG's and set (doctored wounds?) recharge bonus to hit about 50-60% to counter the -recharge. Followed up by some extra defence/resist on the non-SL side, combined with increase HP regen and focus on cap HP (with EE).

In perma granite you have way more powerslots available to get 'filler' powers for IO's or solobility.

By now, very little can take me down. Psi, still being nasty, but pop a few purple and greens and you can overcome that, and i tanked about everything in the game by now.

I am SS however, there was no dark back then Even though, out of granite having perma hasten/EE/rage, is nice to have.
