storm i can understand, but necro? i dont get it, your soul extraction wont work in normal pvp, meaning your a power down, and your zombies are all melee based meaning you get a flyer and your screwed. Only thing i can think of is the accuracy debuffs of dark powers combined with hurricane to give an effective defence, but if your going to aim for defence then FF would be better anyway.

Also fear and immobilize from tier 3 pet, the best combo of melee and ranged powers for both zombie as graveknight and the (minor) ability to self heal.
From all pets, they are the only that have both ranged as melee effective powers. -

Not being so familiar with MMO's I must say NCSoft does an amazing job keeping players up to speed. At least compared to AOC (which is the only other MMO I played) where we were mostly left in the dark for about 6 months from release. I am fully satisfied with feedback from the team. Thanks from one happy camper for being a responsive company.

But NCsoft got its flaws though, advertising for one they serious lack skills -
In groups a defender or a controller is interesting too. You can change from attacker to defender (buff or heal), as troller you also get a pet and they gain a great variety of powers.
A blaster and scrapper are quite straight forward. U target, you spam powers, next mob. For most quite enjoyable sets to play.
The blaster, wich set was it?
As for your question, mostly in groups you go quite faster. Only later some classes get quite strong they can solo faster, provided you play on a tougher lvl then the group is.
And like Neko say, make a connection with your character. The reason you pick the sets, the reason you look like that. -
I think you get more bored of the repeatingness. 1 power per 2 lvls aint that much to look out for (specialy if are pool powers, or needed ones), and from there they only get stronger and better.
If you happen to have villains also, try a MM. From 1 upto 32 they get a nice variaty of pets, extra powers and more powers to their pet, numbers of pets increase, its like you have to keep going.
Other then that perhaps a illusion troller, or maybe a dual blade scrapper (due the increasing combos).
But, do you solo alot? (or forced to), that also can slow you down really alot. -

So you give the aswner yourself. It there wasnt a MA, or MA was majorly anti-farm (lets say no rewards at all), PI broadcast would still exist. Basicly, the entire 'method' to farming would still exist.
So then whats the problem? Community. Devs give the system, players abuse it.
If devs really want to nerf down farming, they only have to snap their fingers.
But you're definiatly right on the mission listing, at first i was hoping they would have heavy moderation on this and categories to put missions in (specialy 1 for 'farming' - but that would incline devs agree with farmers, then again they do so now). -

The 'i sensing' has been said since i started my granite, over 2 years ago. First it was 'too ubah', now its because they are [censored]. -
Its quite easy:
Time changes, things changes.. everything will change some day or another. It is more the player who cannot accept these changes. Accept, adept and move on.
The basics that MA does, it not different from Oroboros. The thing newspaper can do, is the same as MA, but within a zone.
And i heard many people already, OMGORZ CO IS TEH BOXORROXOR! Yes, so was AoC, so was TR, so even was LK (but yet so dead easy and too many bored yet again).
Its not the content that makes the game, it is what you do with it. If you feel bored with 'doing', dont blame the developers to push more more content. The more they bring, often bigger, the faster you get bored with it, as its only an extention to what you already do.
Yes, i have critics on stuf they have released, or yet leaving behind after release, but i create my own fun within the game. Oroborus? I prob did a handfull of missions, that new roman zone? I only visited it.
If i dont feel wacking mobs or farming, i go into the sewers buffing people. Its so fun to see everyone go thx and thankyou and woo yeey and stuff. For what? Buffing a bunch of lowbies that cant even wack a lvl9 boss. I dont care for ubah IO's, i dont care for badges, just like i dont care for 226/229 items in LK, or all those ubah achievements. I care for my own fun only. -
And limit something that perhaps is the biggest thing CoH devs ever made?
Limitations, nerfs, removal, for what? A bunch of farmers and powerlvl'ers? What about the trashtalkers, the noobs, the afk'ers, the 'im uber and u not' idiots, that i have to team with?
Ironic enough, i have 10 times more social interaction within a farming team then i have with any pickup party. Hench, i even enjoy playing more by doing so, min-maxing my controller abilities and see other strong builds passing by.
So what is exactly the problem with MA farming and PL? The annoying spam? /ignore. The reduced players available to party? /EUissue. The unfairness that u had to work the 'hard' way while others do it 'quick 'n dirty'? /care. -

Well, sure, people aren't that stupid. But the start of a new game can be overwhelming enough as it is, and if the first 10 teaming offers are all farmfills for the MA, how are they to know what else is on offer?
And if their first 50 is pretty boring, their build unfulfilling because they haven't played around with the powers, what incentive is there to stick around for another one? I suspect attrition rate is probably high among those pl'd.

True true, but i asume you base this from EU experience?
This game is US, their servers decide what, when how and why. Being in atlas there is 10 times different then here, normal parties are done in the dozen, even villian side. True, MA got a big chunk, but already quite some got fed up with MA and the lack of mission bonus and you can team with them on normal missions again.
The fail (imho) devs made, making you travel alot for each mission (PI excluded). MA and oro are alot easier to do so, specialy on the early lvls where not everyone has a travel (or did not do bank mission).
And if your first 50 is boring, you make another oneOveral (with pl) you do it way faster then doing it the 'hard' way, thus giving those people a wider range of knowledge on sets. I see more people quiting characters because their fun only starts after 30-40s, then 50s who made a wrong choice of taking that set. And there are very little few that get such high lvl with just MA fillers, it aint going that fast.

Removal of exploitable issues ingame are never mentioned in patchnotes. Apart from the obvious ones
And as for Wilfred, people are not _that_ stupid. They just learn the 'easy' way first, its a common thing in every game. Eventualy they still do stuff the normal way, but who are you to tell them 'how' they should get to 50? Because you did it the 'normal' way, they should do to?
Normal is relative, if a new player ones does sewer, newspaper, Orobo and MA, he is 'differnt' then a story-arc playing person? At the end you do the exact same, wack a mob, finish a mission, next one. Its says nothing about possible player skills. And even if they get pl'ed to 50, it was their choice, their toon, within the rules of this game. -
The trainer before lvl up is very bad, specialy in the lower lvls you gain 1-2 lvls even within 1 mission, you are forced to leave and lvl up (no travelpower) to go back and loose a trashload of exp.
You will hurt normal players more then it will 'hit' powerlvling.
Besides that, does it actualy hurt you? The powerlvling? Ok you might think its unfair, they lvl 10 times faster etc etc. But farmers provide recipes, provide drops, powerlvlers become famers and more recipes.
So MA is good for farming, so what? Devs knew this from the very first alpha build they made of it, unless you cut the exp entirely, it will remain a farm thing.
And you cant really say that end-content is that hard, that newbies on their 50 would totaly fook up. Learning your toon at 1 aint much different then 50, just with extra powers.
(btw, with the first release of MA you could do 1-48 in a half day work btw - all now and future patches will be 'exploit' removers) -

If i would start the list today, i would hopefully be done by end of the year, listing all reasons why i wont use 'whine'. -
Make it simple, for now and the upcomming patches.. it will all be 'farmable' mobs and items in MA that are being removed.

That is only recently. Old days only force had the ubah power along with PFF being permanent. The stupid knockback power also been lame, lousy and still is, only fun to use once in a while.
The post you reply is from august last year, back then there was no surge of power yet. Nowadays, elec is very very nice to take. -
see, thats the problem with digital stuff.
Stupid example: Candybar machine.
You trown in a euro (click the conformation button), you get a candy bar. So when u trow in the euro, machine makes some noice and it says: Error - please try again.
You gonna trow another euro in? Fine. You do again. Please try again.. you just trown in 3 euros without even knowning what it does.
lets say its a blank machine, where you have to put your hand in some bucket to grab your candybar. But you havent checked there yet right? (account -> apply code). Maybe the slot-part was broken (frontend payment) or maybe just the happy tune it plays when the candybar drops in the bucket, but the candybar did drop in the bucket.
When people put a euro in it and it give the error, they check the bucket or go ask personal. When they do sortlike online, they just keep clicking. -

True, specialy the 100% stun power is great on that.
But later on, in party with a ice blaster or any troller, less and less to worry about. Added, only few ranged powers have stun abilities, unlike hold. KO blow is slightly better on those cases since it does hold.
But, pompom's just look great -
1 thing still very very very annoying with EM, the stun bug. Specialy with whirling hands it often occur a mob get stunned and suddenly walks 10-20yrd away from me. Total focus is imho too long, perhaps equaly to KO blow but it feels longer. The new ET animation is nice, works good and does great damage.
I love the knockdown in SS, footstomp is plain godlike (and just looks awsome)
I have em both, i like em both. PvP wise i think EM will be better, due 2 high ST damage powers but also due stacking of stun (like the tsoo... annooooooying).
Inv/SS is a very commmon 'superman' set, and if you played /ss already, EM is a very nice alternative -

Only on powers that have -defence debuff.
But, afaik, all sword attacks of the jounin have -defence, based on katana scrapper that is, but that would be the same.
You can see the debuff as little orange triangles hovering around the mob. Like you pop a resist insperation (the orange one), but only the triangles go downwards. -
Sewer hunts, well on the US servers that is. I mostly do 1-10 in a few mins, popping to king's row to join up newspapers and 20 is within very fast

So you see an error, and you just go try again? So if there already was a notice the payment system was having issues, people still keep trying? If the account login already giving timeouts, why do people still persist and try to continue? Just because they 'want' it.
2 of my payments got a timeout, i just waited and see what email i get. A paypal confirmation, a NCsoft confirmation, all done. -
Achille's heel is defence debuff, so i say grave knights. Once they go into melee, afaik all their attacks have -def.
