My theory has always been that the devs are wrong, since the label "Monster" is very inconsistent throughout the game

The "Monsters" in door missions (Psychic Babbage, RSF Kronos, Jurassik in Numina's) have AV stats, they should just be labeled AV's. The outdoor DE Monsters have *almost* GM stats (a level 50 Lattice has 70k hp, while a lvl 50 Kronos Titan GM has 73k) and should IMO be the baseline for the "Monster" label

They're labeled the same as a DE "Monster" which are nothing like an "Arch Villain" or "Hero". So yeah, they're mislabeled

The Arachnos Flyer is labeled "Transport"

I love how morons say, Lrn2Ply

I've been playing game Off & On, since beta, I think I've learned.

-rolls eyes- Gotta love the Interwebs

Yes, because we all know that people who claim they've been playing since beta are automaticly good players *rolls eyes*

A scrapper (either Iggy_Kamikaze or Powerforge, I don't recall which) soloed the door mission version of Kronos, with video to prove it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And so has pretty much any AV soloer on the boards. The mission version of Kronos is *MUCH* weaker than the outdoor GM version (28k hp vs 73k hp, the mission version is basicly a mislabeled AV)

I think it does more like dark melee has lower than base accuracy and misses so much its broken.

    [/ QUOTE ]
i've always liked that myth myself. That's what really surprises me: people still believe some of these myths even though they can now view the actual numbers for powers in game and even monitor character stats as they play.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dark Melee does have lower accuracy than many other melee sets: Broadsword, Katana, Ninja Blade, MA, Warmace and Battle Axe. Since those sets have higher accuracy, they make DM seem like it has lower accuracy thus giving origin to this "myth"

...with Illusion/Rad being pretty much the only set proven to be able to solo every single GM in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I keep hearing this but never seen any actual proof. I've yet to see an ill/rad who can solo the Kronos Titan or a DE Monster (bonus points if no temps/insps are used)

Not saying it can't be done, just saying I want to see screenies or a video

    [/ QUOTE ]

I tried to solo DE monster (Quarry) on my ill/rad, gave up after 10 minutes. I couldn't produce enough DPS and -regen to even scratch him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's what I suspected, since I encounter the same problem on my Rad/Sonic defender. If I used a full tray of reds I might be able to get one to half health before running out, and If I used a Shivan then it wouldn't really mean a whole lot.

On the other hand, my Corruptor and Mastermind can both obliterate DE Monsters and every other GM redside (all 3 of them) with no temps/no insps and in a relatively short amount of time (10-15 mins). Can't wait for GR so I can bring them over to blueside and try both Lusca and the Kronos Titan

The regeneration figure of 350 hp/sec also isn't a set number. It greatly varies from GM to GM. While they all have the same regeneration rate, they don't all have the same amount of hitpoints (Kronos with his 73k hp would regenerate alot more health per tick than Paladin with his 11k hp)

GMs lack the incredible debuff resistance of Archvillains

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not quite. GMs have the same debuff resistances as an AV of the same level (all GMs have base levels)

Babbage is base level 17, Lusca is base level 25, Jurassik is base level 40 and Kronos Titan is base level 50, just to cite a few examples. They all have the same resistances as an AV of the same level (effectively making the Kronos Titan harder to kill than Lusca for a defender)

    Power Myths!

It does have an end crash
  13. Fire/SR can both farm and solo AVs

Its AoE sustained damage is higher than DM/SD, as Quickness helps FSC recharge faster for more pwnage

Its ST damage may be a little lower but it's FIRE and it goes mostly unresisted, capable of cutting through AVs with godmode and whatnot

I just had a nasty thought... is that exemp problem deactivating ALL purples?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    No.

They get scaled down in effectiveness pretty drastically if you exemp below level 32, just like any other enhancement

I don't know if this would apply here, but I remember when someone told me that Immo, stuns, and holds stack with each other. I.E. an Immo and Hold would make a mag 6 hold

    [/ QUOTE ]

This one actually (in my experience at least) has a sliver of truth to it. I played a controller before Overpower was introduced and when I hit a boss with Mezmerize and Dominate back to back they would be affected by whichever I used second (the sleep seemed more reliable this way)

I don't, however, know if that was supposed to happen, or if there was a bug that was causing any mez to stack with any other mez.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mesmerize is a 3.5 mag sleep that will get a boss in a single aplication. The damage from Dominate will break the sleep if used afterwards
  16. Phalanx Fighting gives you 3.75% defense to all 3 positions with no allies in range.

    fire/wp

I don't particularly find FM to have a synergy with WP. WP is a very strong set, but not that strong. It greatly benefits from a primary with some mitigation (like say, an AoE knockdown like MA or SS) to give RttC some room to do it's job.

Unless you're already level 50 with this toon, I'd recomend investing the IOs in a Fire/SR instead

    IS THIS A BUG?
I tried casting the Cold Domination's 2 defense shields on a teammate, when I was under the effects of Power Buildup. But, the defense values of those shields were no better than without Power Buildup.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, PB doesn't effect the Cold Shields because they have an enhanceable dam res component.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Fixed.

FF shields have a RES component, but since it's flagged to ignore buffs, PBU will work on them.

Cold shields' RES component accepts buffs so the entire power will ignore PBU.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be fair he DID specify a "dam res" component, which is what breaks the PB. FF shields have a debuff res component, no dam res

On the other hand, Scorpion Shield has an unenhanceable res component and PB still doesn't affect it, because it's dam res

Well, Fire Sword and Cremate do less DPA than Gfs

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cremate has higher DPA than GFS
  22. Both Incinerate and Cremate have higher DPS than GFS and also don't have that annoying lethal portion. Skipping GFS is very much viable
  23. Fury manages itself in a long AV fight simply by having the enemy constantly attacking you, so you can write that off as a non-issue
