Go with 45% defense, it's definitely worth it. Things won't always be within range of your debuffs nor will they last forever, not to mention than reapplying debuffs interrupts your attack chain and consumes more end.
You'll also get around 38% defense to E/N as a 'bonus' -
I wish VEATs could slot that into their inherent

Ok, I have a level 48 faery brute with Super-Strengh/Willpower. She's good and all, but not good for bigger groups like coalitions, TFs, ect. How can I make her, Shikratia, better? BTW, how do I change my forum name, I accidently misspelled her name. LOL!

If your secondary was more click-intensive I'd go with Katana, since the faster animations won't get you killed before you can click that crucial self heal to survive (ahem, regin). But since you're set on invuln I'd go with Broadsword, you'll be one-shotting minions left and right.

The best heroside combo for hard target soloing is probably Ill/Rad controller, there was one awhile back who soloed Lusca, who is essentially 9 Giant Monsters in one. It took them 6 hours or so, but I doubt theres another heroside AT who can do that. You already mentioned having a MM, which is the best villianside AT for hard targets.

But for what it's worth, the most OP'd combinations for every AT in PvE are (IMO)
Fire/Ment or Arch/Ment Blaster
Fire/Rad, Fire/Kin or Illusion/Rad Controller
Rad/Sonic or Kin/Arch/(Psi) Defenders
Dark/Shield/(Blaze) or Spine/Elec Scrapper
WP/SS or Shield/Dark Tanker
SS/WP or Dark/Shield Brute
Fire/Rad Corruptor
Fire/Psi Dominator
Dark/Nin Stalker
Robotics/Traps Mastermind -

Fire/Kins are not a class. It's fair to say there are specific primary/secondary builds that outperform their peers. I'd be careful to not make it sound like the entire ATs you listed universally outperform all other builds of all other ATs.

I'm not talking about Fire/Kins as farmers, I'm talking about them as powerful toons who are able to destroy a full spawn of foes in seconds in most given scenarios; asuming these mobs are close together (like most spawns tend to be) and are not resistant to mezzes (very few mobs ingame are), be it in radio missions, arc missions or higher level TFs. Sure there are other ATs who can do this such as Scrappers (Spine/Dark) and Brutes (SS/Fire) but Controllers remain the pioneers and defacto build for AoE destruction. This isn't WoW. There are no "classes" with specific distinct advantages which make them blatantly superior to other "classes" when it comes to performance.

As a 'rule of thumb' (but not really), if a pet shows up on your pet window then it won't inherit the owner's buff. Pseudopets (that don't show on the owner's window) such as sleet, freezing rain, tar patch and caltrops WILL inherit the owner's buffs
Since most of Traps' effects are 'pets' (that show up on your window), PBU won't be very useful

Hovering off range while taunting might work, just make sure that your pets are getting the buff from Supremacy.
It looks like you can do just fine against AVs, your priority should be having +recharge to cut the downtime on Howling Twilight as much as you can, while grabing the attention of the AV and keeping your pets safe. You might also want to invest a few more slots into Provoke, it's a very important power for this task. -

I changed the look of the radiation on my Fire/Rad to more closely match the original fire color from the primary. It looks like 'thermal' radiation

Been running paper missions in PI on +4/x8 (Malta, Council, Carnies don't pose much of a threat, Arachnos and CoT can get tricky though) on my DM/SD Scrapper

Necro wouldn't make a good GM killer because most of them GMs like to spam PBAoE attacks, many of which will send your pets flying
