Actually, Positron is arachnophobic, or afraid of spiders

I think it does kinda qualify as a "well built mastermind that had the appropriate secondary and or primary"

    AV soloing

3 mins average is what it takes me on my MM

    GMs are about 8-10mins, yes.
  5. I really hope the set includes alternative 'plain' animations that don't look so "we-tried-way-too-hard-to-make-it-flashy"

Sometimes a gunslinger is just a guy who pulls the trigger, not an enthusiastic ballerina

    Dark/Traps

Dark/Traps is a build that I'll always like but never roll it myself. Theoretically it has enough survivability to *SAFELY* solo multiple AVs simultaneously. Maybe not as fast as a Fire/Traps but definitely safer

It's not to say I'm looking for a class I'll NEVER see again. That's impossible. I just enjoy playing what isn't played often. Archetype/powerset.

New question, if the wonderful CoH community feels inclined to answer:

With Doms/Stalkers being somewhat of a rarity in PvE, but apparently very common in PvP. What then, would be uncommon powersets?

I've also considered simply running Corr, in hopes of not showing up too often in PvE or PvP.

    My brain has aches.
    Roll a Mastermind
  8. Dominator and Stalker sounds about right

    Farming Brute

    For a farming brute I'd recomend Elec/Shield or SS/Elec.

Super Strength may be all smashing damage, but it's still one of the most effective primaries for brutes, for for ST AND AoE. Lightning Field is an excelent damage aura and Lightning Reflexes will help Foot Stomp (and your patron AoE) recharge faster, not to mention you'll have infinite endurance with Power Sink and Energize
  10. Any primary with /Traps, /Therm and /Dark is good for soloing AVs. Just be sure to take Hover if you go with melee henchmen

Robotics primary with Storm, Poison or TA secondary can range from barely ok to decent

    Everything else is bleh (IMO)
  11. Update: I moved the site to http://sites.google.com/site/silveratus/ since apparently geololcities it shutting down.

    Enjoy!
  12. Big models also cause increased server lag iirc

Correction: many people do that, just not as their first baseline challenge
  14. Branching does come in kinda late in a VEATs career, and building the second (dual) build to 23 then starting over is indeed kind of annoying. Neither of these are game breaking and both of them I can live with, the latter (dual build issue) might be either engine limitation or dev oversight that might be fixed in the future as a QoL change
  15. DM/Nin, usually run at x8 (even con) but capable of doing +4/x8

Edit: DM/Nin? I meant DM/SD, darn DM being so good and my stalker being so similar to my scrapper
  16. +1/x8 on Fire/Traps, could go higher but I'm comfortable with that setting

I have always activated Rage manually, and recommend that you try doing the same.
    This.

As well as +regen procs in RttC
  19. Best ST chain post 41 (with elec mastery) is Shriek - Scream - Shriek - Electric Fence

    AoE Scrapping...

What I like about electric armor is that since you have an endless supply, you can go all out slotting obliterations (for both +rech and +melee_def) and just shrug as the miniscule end redux bonus the set gives
  21. Silverado

    Black Swan

Good thing about Black Swan is you can actually use her minions to fuel SD/AAO, since they are resistant to neg and will likely last through the whole fight
  22. Also in Point X-Ray, the last island before reaching the Cascade Archipielago entrance
  23. New players likely played other games before, so there's that.

Playstyle in other games usually translates into this game one way or another. People who enjoy DD classes will always enjoy DD classes, people who like support will always like support etc
  24. Kin/Rad defender sounds like a pretty good AoE combo. Not Archery good, but good nonetheless

    2. Blasters

    5. Tankers
I agree with the first part of the post, but you seem to contradict yourself on the list.

Based on the principles you stated, I'd put Controllers and Defenders on the first 2 spots (Controller first, as they have both good AoE damage and buff/debuff). Then I'd put Tanker and Blasters on the 3th and 4th spot (which would be up to debate, since Tankers fill both the role of aggro control/management and are also able to put out some respectable AoE damage, but not as much as Blasters)
