They are meant to stack, multiple times.

Quote:Power Boost doesn't affect recovery buffs/debuffs. It will affect +/-end powers, but not +/-recovery powers. On the other hand, power boost will increase the heal from radiant aura, the runspeed and recovery buffs in accelerate metabolism (and *possibly* the mez resistance buffs, not sure), the endurance recovery buff for the target in mutation, the hold duration of any choking cloud pulses that occur while power boost is active, the -tohit and -defense of fallout, and the hold duration of EM pulse.

What Frosticus is really trying to say, is that he's better than you all.

Elec/Shield seems to be the most favored build for its flashyness, but Fire/Shield (IMO) outperforms it simply because while the AoE damage is very comparable, Fire blows Elec right out of the water in ST

To use your own DBZ lingo, these levels you described would more accurately be refered to as "Ascended Permadom" and "Ultimate Permadom", which are the levels Trunks and Vegeta developed in their fight against Cell after training in the Room of Time and Spirit. Great muscle power, but being so big and bulky affects their speed and defense in a fatal way.
With that much budget and some more out-of-the-box thinking, one could make a Dominator build that would turn your so called "SP3" into bad comedy. -
Also, perma PA and softcapped defenses is not gonna happen
-
These so called "Super Permadom 2" and "Super Permadom 3" levels are far from practical and usually result in a waste of recharge and loss of other potential advantages, just a FYI.

Quote:This, tooIn a game about super heroes and super villains I find myself unsatisfied with being classified as lower than the named characters in the game. Much lower as it is.
In the quest to be truly super I find defeating the likes of other well recognized supers like Requiem, Infernal, Statesman, Positron, et al to be a pretty major step in achieving that goal.
Was I pretty stoked strolling in to IP the other day and seeing a creature towering over the freighter it was next to and deciding to kill it on my own? Yes. The fight is often boring as sin, but the thought of taking out the biggest and the baddest/toughest in the game means my super powered character is at least as powerful as they are. -
As others have said, it's all about the challenge and the bragging rights. It's also somewhat of a status symbol; people will respect you and be eager to include you in their teams if they've heard that your toons can solo Giant Monsters.
I also have to admit I get a kick out of people's reactions when they see, of all the ATs, a Blaster doing it, a class that is widely known for its epic squishyness
(see I just bragged about it) -

That is only marginally better than Cremate>FireSword>Incinerate, which is what I use on mine. It needs alot less recharge than the one with GFS and is superior in terms of EPS

Soloed the entire Phalanx at +3 (one by one of course) in a duo RSF (Mind/Elec Dom + Bots/Traps MM). Had to use inspirations against Positron, Synapse and Statesman

Refer to the actual BABs quote on my sig

EBs and AVs can be soloed by anyone who knows what they're doing, even if you have to use temporary powers such as Shivans and the arsenal recently introduced in i17 (Med Pack, Recovery Serum, Envenomed Dagger, Kinetic Dampener and Backup Radio are especially useful).
That being said, (dare I say?) most people are casual players who just play for the fun and don't waste their time in useless things such as number crunching, game mechanics and researching resources, so an EB/AV warning label in Ouro arcs only seems fair. -
-
Fire and Mind should be the best, as they have the fastest animation holds.
But to throw my 2 cents in, stacking holds on an AV is too much of a hassle. I prefer to DPS them to death (chain consisting of Char>Ring of Fire>Mental Blast + Fire Imps) and just let my defenses keep me alive (same way I do it on my Fire/Ment Blaster) -
DP on AV fights is more of a debuff and should be used offensively. The +regen you get is just a nice added bonus. Recomended tactic is to DP-joust the AV
-
-
Yeah I can solo most AVs on a Fire/Psi/Mu. Before the nerf to BotZ I could manage to keep permadom (barely) while having high defenses, not now with the set nerf I can only have the defense and no longer be a permadom. To be honest, the only thing from domination I miss in an AV fight is the mez protection, but that's what BFs are for (and mezzes don't land as often with high defenses anyways)

Farming in a team isn't farming, it's teaming (unless the "team" consists of 7 doorsitting lowbies)

Combat Jumping is a movement power, Maneuvers is a team buff
