  2. For pure offensive capabilities, I give a nod to SS/Fire/Mu Brute. I personally prefer SS/Elec/Mu for better survivability and the flexibility provided by the end drain/regain, which allows me to be useful at everything else outside the farm (such as tanking LRSFs old school style)

    Yes.
  4. Yeah, not sharing builds is simply ridiculous, and anyone who doesn't share them deserves to forever burn in the 9th circle of hell (Cocytos)

Fire/Rad Corr is significantly better than Rad/Sonic Def in ST damage too.

    Defense

25% sounds about right, it will statistically block 50% of incoming damage (on average). That's the number I aimed for on my resistance based toons (Brute and Tanker: Electric Armor)

  10. Yeah, in cases like that it's not a sin to pop a few reds to finish her off
  11. So play a VEAT

Heck, I'd even recomend you play a kheloldian if I didn't hate them so much.
  12. Watch out for all the scatter you're gonna be causing
  13. From what I've seen, pretty much any Stalker can be effective as long as you have AS + trow shrak. However, you said you wanted to avoid RV so no shraks 4 u.

For lower level zones I'd recommend Elec or EM primaries with either Nin or WP secondaries (+perception is always handy, especially in WB where you'll be going against other Stalkers)

PS. Regarding the drama: if you want to avoid it, may I suggest turning off broadcast? that should do the trick (and it's not like lower level zones don't talk their fair share of smack also)

This. The only bad thing is the redraw though
  15. I only hide from searches when I'm in a PvP zone with my Stalker to be more stalker-y
  16. On certain situations, such as the final missions of the STF and RSF when tanking multiple high level AVs simultaneously, I specifically instruct people to NOT target through me (being the Tanker/Brute), as I constantly switch targets to taunt and grab aggro, and I usually need one of the targets downed ASAP (Scirocco and Positron respectively). What I do in these situations is call the target and have the rest of the team focus all the firepower on said target

This is true, but I was refering to quantity, not quality.

It was the fact that you were, apparently unknowingly, exploiting the range discrepancy between players (7ft) and critters (5ft), which means you were out of his melee attack zone, but he was still in yours. In other words, enjoying the advantages being a melee has, with none of the disadvantages.

Now, I didn't mean to come crap on your achievement, we're all being calm and civil (except that Shane guy). My tone in the first post was more about being playful (notice the smilies and all) and informative (informing you that what you did was 'questionable'), and being a young Scrapper with a lot of potential, it'd give you something to look forward to.

Like I said, it's not that big of a deal and I'm pretty much the only one to point it out. What matters here is that you had a rush. I will not congratulate you on this one, but I encourage you to keep fighting more AVs and get stronger.

I love how you say I'm a newbie, when I signed up on the CoH forums over a year and a half before you. It's funny how you say I'm obnoxious, when you were the one who came into a thread where the mood was good, and made a comment which you knew would recieve a bad reaction from others.

Who gives a damn about the methods used to beat an AV. It's just a game, and there are tricks and corner cutting tactics in most games.

Edit: Oh, and I'm having a great day. You have a good day as well
Chill out kid, it's Garthalus' thread and he doesn't need you menstruating all over it.

Because I love seeing obnoxious newbies getting riled up over not congratulating someone else on a "feat" achieved through questionable methods.

    Have a nice day sir!

lolVirtue RV isn't too shabby either, and that zone too is infested with Psi/EM/Cold Blasters which are harder to kill than a non-regen Scrapper

Why do people keep exploiting the melee range discrepancy against AVs (particularly Infernal)?

I mean I guess it's not a big deal, but still, at least have the decency to wear your Scrapper pants like a man!
