People should do their homework first, before coming to the boards and moan their woes out.
But then again, these forums would be a ghost town if they did. -

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and chip in on this one.
First of all, out of all these replies only one person was somewhat on the right'ish tracks, almost. Since you want to solo AVs on a Fire/Fire Blaster, and since that is such an unusual build on an unusual archetype, there isn't really much valid advice that you're gonna find out there, since not many people have done it before (yes, kranik pulled it off but I seem to remember he used temp powers).
My advice is to come up with a build of your own and dive head-first into battle. See what your deficienies are, then make a build to patch those deficiencies, then dive back into battle, etc -

The power [Force of Nature] from the Force Mastery ancilliary pool for Blasters no longers accepts damage resistance IO sets. Bug or WAI?

Quote:I find Paragon City to be significantly more difficult at lower levels than Praetoria (and the Rogue Isles for that matter). Hello end-draining Clockwork in the pre-stamina levels? chain-mezzing CoT mages before *anyone* has any mez protection? Spectral Daemon Lords that floor your tohit with one power (as if there weren't enough accuracy issues at those levels)? Vahzilok, who do a lot more -rech and hit harder than any Praetorian mob?. Yeah, Praetorian mobs are wimps compared to these guys.4: Enemies do more varied, and harder to deal with effects.
-Regen, -Recharge, -Def, are some of the main pains I've noticed. -Regen means it takes even longer to recover, and that mid combat natural regen is even slower. -Recharge increases the time it takes to defeat enemies, meaning you take more damage. -Def means you take more hits, leading to more damage. -
It's also worth noting that rad debuff toggles don't cause redraw (because they're... you know, toggles)

PPD Enforcers, Malta Titans and Assault Bots have always had shoulder mounted cannons. Blood Widows and KoA's get a wrist mounted dart thrower, so this isn't new.
-
If you're a Bane however, you'll be able to use Mace Mastery powers with no redraw

I have a few:
1.- Only have 1 character of each AT active at all times. If I want to roll a new character of a given AT, the previous one must be deleted or moved out of the server.
2.- All my characters must be able to do at least one of these:
a.- Solo Giant Monsters
b.- Solo Archvillains
c.- Solo +4/x8 spawns of most enemy groups (barring wierd stuff like Rularuu or custom OP'd critters in the AE)
...while still being useful contributions on a TF/Raid team.
3.- All my characters have "Silver" on their names (Silverius, Silverster, Silverette, Silveratrix, etc)
4.- All my characters must be distributed equally in gender: 6 male toons, 6 female toons -
North of the University in Cap Au Diable, easiest spot, plenty of hordelings

Quote:Yeah, it can get pretty annoying pretty quick.I implore you, for the sanity of your teammates, please have two buttons...one with the yell and one without.
I have a friend who chants the spell words when he uses Blizzard on his Magic Ice Blaster, but he only does it once per mission. Works for him and his teammates -

Enough defenses to hit the softcap on S/L/N/E, +recharge, +regen.
+Hp will usually present itself in the way through working towards those bonuses.
Edit: The hp cap for Tankers is currently 3.2k, but in a couple days it will be raised to 3.5k -

Quote:Yeah, that's just not true.Sure, I can proably soak up 5% more damage due to my resistance stacked with my softcapped (or near softcapped) defense and I have taunt so i'm still going to be tanking for a team, but your a blaster, you absorb nearly as much as I do
I'd like to see a Blaster tanking the 4 Patrons in the STF simultanouesly, or the 5 AVs in the Khan TF. -
Quote:First, I'd like to see a pure resistance based set that can get 70% resistance across the board. The 30% typed defense *might* be doable but the toon will suffer in other areas. On top of that, the 30% defense will get stripped away pretty fast by any two-bit hobo with a sword or a gun; mid levels of defense without DDR are pretty much useless where it matters. So you're saying that resistance armor with...let's just say 70% resistance across the board AND 30% positional defense to all is NOT better than a defense-based armor with 45% defense to all? We already know that resistance can go way above70% and you usually only need defense toward melee and range anyhow, so there's really no reason for having aoe defense as well.
Quote:Also, no one's really proved me "wrong," besides maybe Grey Pilgrim since he does provide some pretty good explanations. I don't read posts saying that I'm wrong to be proving me as being wrong.
