  1. No, but adding in Home Rules is what GM'ing is all about

Most of the basic information is there and with another Eden book it should be childsplay.
  2. Yes, but the basic rule set IS out if you know where to LOOK

I find it slightly worrying that Swan is a teenager though...

    Actually, VERY worrying.
  3. Thirded. Or employ someone completely non-biased to troll the forums and give out prizes. 15k a year should do

Hiring a magic hero to stop a satalite being hacked? Nuh uh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, Weasel was once put in a space-suit to save the MIR satellite in another world. Magic blasts have no kinetic KB on the user so can be used safely in Zero G

Next is the 'Sunnydale' effect, where more Superheroes than could possibly exist gather in one place; so "SUPER-STORIES" become like a dull version of Eastenders.

[/ QUOTE ] "My best man, Turboman.... and my darling wife to be Mrs. Magic in bed together on the eve of our wedding! They're under mind control from the eeevilll Divorce Lawyer of hell!"

"Really? Well, we did all that and had the Bridesmaid turn out to be his long lost cousin we thought died in a car crash, who was possessed by the spirit of my ex-husband's cat"

Except when it gets in your socks and clothes. -SPD, -ACC (How're you supposed to concentrate with it in there?).

Uhh.... with my Sand-Repellent Weasel Spray?
  6. There's the whole 'novel' problem here.

From the viewpoint of writing, most books will take a specific turning point in a characters life and expand on that; throwing in references to 'hidden secrets' etc.

Hence why a Harry Potter MMORPG couldn't work; how long are you gonna sit studying to learn your next spell?

So, reality has to be liberally chucked out the window and a new reality put down; one of 'recurring consequences'; same as Batman etc. (Duh...Bats...Make sure Joker's cell in Arkham is majorly locked down, has no visitors, is bright white and don't lock all the people who want to kill you in one place); so 'basic hero stupidity' has to be added to the world.

Next is the 'Sunnydale' effect, where more Superheroes than could possibly exist gather in one place; so "SUPER-STORIES" become like a dull version of Eastenders.

Hence the world we're playing in isn't really an RP world to start with; add in Zortel's 'Static World' theoreum and it's far more an FPS than an RPG.

    However

A little bit of enthusiasm can short-circuit these world breakers.

"What? Then the Doctor Vahzilok we fought must be a clone! How many other clones does he have around? We must find out!"

It's a sandpit for ideas, and playing with sand is fun even if the ideas tend to crumble when the big kids kick it in your face.

First off, I'd like to apologise for the delay in announcing the first winner of the Creative Genius competition. It's been very hard to pick winners from the many superb submissions over the last six weeks, but below you'll find the details of the Creative Geniuses for May and June, which brings us up to date.

UPDATE: Winners for July, August and September announced. October's winner will be announced shortly after the release of City of Villains.

    October, now November, December next?
  8. ((reminiscent ))

Saphire's hand dipped to her belt as Grav concentrated, pouring gravity into the vaccum; thereby exponentially creating the crushing effect.

A small leatherman tool touched Saphire's hand and she grinned; working quickly she moved across each wire in turn , snipping and sealing as fast as she could, the water inching closer by the second.

Saphire felt strange though and it took her a moment to realise the water was heating up. One of the things Grav hadn't realised was the build up of energy was releasing itself into the water; that or there was a heating circuit in it as well.

She worked quicker as the thought of the room filling with electrified steam drove her on.
  9. So, you'd like all AT's to be equal. That's a good idea, let's give Stalkers ranged attacks as well then.

Really badly thought out argument. You were overwhelmed.
  10. Well done Grav, now try and get out of the Water Cell
  11. I'm still convinced you can make a viable long range PvP'er; but he'll only be really good in large scale maps. We'll see at 50
  12. He's saying Silver? "PvE"'er morelike

Suggesting my knowledge is only PvE intentioned.

Meh, I've still got a cold but I can still whoop on you in PvP. I'll stand by what I said. Min/Max builds are no fun.
  13. Given that physics starts at Secondary school; I'm sure either gender could have been taken as cute, no matter what the gender bias.
  14. Ok, as an Mrg/Nrg, I can see a few problems

Hasten will cripple your End use unless you have some End Regen and is not really useful that early.

As you're using Energy Secondary, I don't think two Acc's are necessary, I can keep up a 85% hit rate with one. (This is especially if you're using Aim and Build up in serial)

Only take Aim or Build up early, as either will tend to max your Acc.

Whirlwind is not really that good unless you have the defences to hold off all the aggro it will gain.

Bonesmasher is ok but no better; Energy punch is dire (imho).

Two travel powers? I always thought that was a little wasteful, but if you're taking Hasten anyway *shrugs*

    Only 2 epics?

TF works very well with a Disorient slotted, in fact, I'd try to secondary slot most of your powers whilst you dump that 2nd Acc.

3 Slotted Run? That's...interesting...not sure how it'll cope, especially without Sprint.

Missing Ice Storm and Blizzard? Shum mistake shurely.
  15. Little addition to Grav's history there, hope you don't mind
  16. It's not easy to form a vaccum. Grav's physics lessons started to rush back to her. Newton had said something about opposite forces; but she remembered there had been a cute boy in the back row; so Newton took second place.

She was managing it though; trapped between the water and the hermetic seal; a vaccum started to form; but the water was approaching the electrics with greater speed now.

Could Saphire do anything to hold it off for long enough?
  17. Water rushed in against the shield, whilst Grav tried to cope. It was like holding wet jelly in her hands; little slivers kept getting through, spraying her and Saphire with shards of water; but there seemed to be something happening.

With an airtight cell, there was nowhere for the air to go...or was there?
  18. Hey, if she can keep me alive for long enough to reach 49, Stase MUST be Uber
  19. Weasel would love to be there, but Xmas Late Opening's gonna keep me grounded in RL
  20. No problem DT, I was more thinking of including your part as an interlude. One post would be sufficient
  21. Just seeing what Doc T will do; he may call on you
  22. As the water is pushed aside, it rises significantly. A splash of water flicks against the side of the electrical generators and a shiver of power is felt through the shield.

Suddenly, the rooms seems a lot smaller, and a hell of a lot scarier.
