Stef made me roleplay them getting together.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Been there, done that Stase and Weasel only got together about a fortnight ago.
  2. Weasel's power comes from the Earth, so what do I do? Put him in the Air, Space or Underwater whenever possible. Give him a girlfriend who makes his powers go wappy. Create an evil doppleganger out to kill him. Ask him to rescue one of his oldest nemesis. Make his powers alter his very physiology if they're overused then force him to overuse them.

All makes for a good story
  3. Roleplay in Villain Land is often very difficult due to the sheer problem of Villains working together.

There's been a number of tries to build a coherent RP SG but I'm not sure how many have been succesful.

My best advice is to put Roleplayer in your search function and try to find people in areas like this that share your likes; and then try to build a coherent reason for sticking together before you start any RP.
  4. Lord Recluse stared over the top of his steepled fingers at the figure in front of him. Deep within him, he could feel mind powers fingering the edges of his mental shields. Rarely had a Destined One been this strong, and Recluse pondered over whether this man would be better added to his organisation; or whether it would be preferrable to have him killed now.

The goatee beareded man spoke. "Well, Lord...", the word was tainted with sarcasm but still overwhelmingly charming, "I was wondering why you sent me this?", and he dropped a small fish like shape to the floor.

Lord Recluse brought his hands up to his mouth and in a slow deliberate fashion gathered his thoughts.

"To test you.", he finally said.

"I'm assuming I have passed that test.", the figure replied, dusting himself down, "If you have any more then I'm certain I could oblige in another demonstration."

"That will not be necessary.", Recluse said, still unsure on how this Mastermind was so telepathically strong. "I have no need to waste resources if what you say is true."

"Oh, it is true. If you do not believe me, I'm sure your Swordsman will confirm what I have said."

Scirocco growled under his breath and muttered something in Farsi.

Recluse reached an arm across to Scirocco, and the Swordsman was silent, but nodded agreement.

"Then it's settled. I will provide you with all I know about the creatures killing your Destined; and in turn you will help me kill Statesman's latest Ally. My machine can get you right into the heart of Paragon."

Recluse nodded, stroking the side of his chin.

"For now, your offer seems fair, but I have many plans to see to before I can attack in such force."

The Mastermind nodded and pulled an antique watch from the side of his smoking jacket."Let us say an hour then. I do have some loose ends to tie up myself."

"An hour.", Recluse repeated, as he turned and left.

Scirocco walked over and picked up the twisted, shrunken body of Gideon Ray from the floor whilst the well-dressed Mastermind pocketed his strange device and returned to his TARDIS.

    The Experiment

Well, it's Wam's baby, but myself, Stase and Fire_Guardian are helping.

Basically the only restraints are characters must have Science Origin and be Fire based in Primary/Secondary or Both.

Average level is about 10 atm.

Meet is every Wednesday night around 8 (GMT) and is almost fully IC.

BTW : Smoking Jacket is a Lecherous Lounge Lizard, so don't be offended by his ...mmm....Innuendo.

Hehe, my Malkavian destroyed a third of Nottingham via Ebola and was about to napalm Sherwood Forest due to the same dementia.
  7. Personally, I usually cripple my character with flaws first and then add the skills.

(Look at Luke at the start of A New Hope...)

Then I meet with the group and usually annoy someone. Over time though, (Like RL), they often come to understand that the flaws are part of his/her/it's charm; and the extra skill points come in VERY handy.

(Though saying this, I've just got back from a game where I'm playing a Ex-policeman turned binman whose had a psychotic episode and is trying to escape from his ex whilst being helped by five fragments of his psyche. )

There is the Sleeper in EQ, but it's a relatively specialised case.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, AFAIK wasn't that meant to be unkillable but players found a way around it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not unkillable (AFAICR), it just takes AFAIK 90+ people to take it down and it's a once in a server event. If you imagine Hami with Phantom Army Mitos and I7 Regen rate, you've about got it.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
No, it just points out the world is static. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can't think of any MMORPG that would keep its mobs defeated/slain. Gameplay > Roleplay with a lot of today's market.

    /Smoking_Jacket

Well, with our new found...mmmm..companions we ventured forth to look at this terrible little oik called Frostfire. His house was SUCH a mess; one would think he hadn't had the cleaners in for months. Unfortunately he wasn't able to create some ice sculptures for my up and coming dinner party as he'll be spending the rest of the time in the Ziggurat. And I learned something new today as well, supposdely the working class don't smell of cabbage. Another day, another revelation with the Experiment.

(*Pokes Wamdue for posting the backstory as well* )

[censored], I rushed back from London for this
  15. Welcome TBH I'm always a bit jealous as I see a non-RP'er take their first steps as you can see the fun they have in their face. Some of the old guard tend to still be a bit stuffy at times.

Look me & Stase up sometime if you need to throw something off someone
  16. Well, given as rationalisation is being ignored. White Wolf's Samuel Haight? The Entire Blood/Feed Mechanic being now part of conversation? The MET using deliberate justification to drop the fourth wall; as well as clumsy inexplicable rules to force Vampire Sleep, Wraith Regeneration, Changeling Cantrip keeping; Habeus Corpus in the Wraith Arcanos (Disciplines/Arcanos etc.), Generations from Caine, Humanity Checks...

And please don't go on the 'I expected better of you' kick. We can all see you're upset, it's just some of us can ignore disparities, or even better, make something useful out of them.

You're entire reaction to this is OOC; perhaps Stormcrow could find out why he said that?
  17. OR

    The Hellion might be self-referencing
Or The Hellion might have might a 'typo'
    Or he might be high
Or he might have overheard it from a Hero and not know what it means
Or virtually every other game in the world breaks the IC/OOC barrier (WoW shreds it)

OR that games that want to rationale everything (See the elimination of the Assassin Class in 2nd ed D&D,) do it with such clumsiness.(Waterdeep)

Or...it might just be humour....I'm sure there's a few Clown Superheroes running around.

Even Captain Carnage (Watchmen) wasn't really serious...

Given you've already accepted Teleportation Fields (Breaks at least 3 Physical Laws, 2 Biological, 1 Chemical, a few Quantum Physics), Empathy Powerset, Falls from buildings, Temporal Travel etc. I hardly think that one person saying something that doesn't make sense in a direct OOC comment really hurts that much; and if it does, why?

I challenge you to find ONE RPG of any sort that doesn't break the fourth wall at times.
  18. Meanwhile In Siren's Call...

Dark Stabbity slid through the streets hunting his prey. All of his senses were alert for the smell of heroes. He had been hit earlier, but he knew that his regeneration would save him from any blow. The Heroes were already dead now he just had to show them the way.

Rounding the corner of one of the buildings, he ducked back as a Longbow Guardian strode out, scanning the area. He frowned for a moment, then carried on looking. Peering round the corner, Dark saw a Cape floating just above the ground. The figure was all dressed in white and had a strange aura surrounding him.

Dark narrowed his senses and realised this was a easy kill; and better yet, someone high in the Statesman's guard. He stifled a giggle and stepped up, creeping closer to his target. Two figures with swords were fighting up in front and this white Cape must be watching....that would be his last mistake.

Quietly drawing his beloved katana, he crouched and lined up a stab that would pierce the Hero's heart. The Hero wasn't even moving at this point and Dark felt the adrenalin rush through his system as he would claim another victim.

The blade slashed out, straight into the defenceless Hero, and ...nothing happened.
"Oh Puhllease!", said the White figure and his newly glowing fist slammed Dark back against the wall. The Aura had disappeared from the Cape and a bolt of blue energy slammed into Dark's chest. Dark tried to leap to his feet, but his feet had decided not to listen to him. His vision blurred as he called upon all of his powers but it was too late. The Hero brought both of his glowing hands down on Dark's head with a sickening crunch and the Teleport Field kicked in.

Dark awoke in a hospital bed and heard voices. Instantly, his body disappeared under the sheets and then disappeared from view. Sliding his bedclothes to one side, he snuck out and looked around, senses trying to determine friend or foe.

It was then that he saw the Arachnos Drone, de-powered, lying on one side with scorch marks on it.

"They've got in. The damn spandex have got into the Hospital!", he roared in his mind. Careful not to make a sound, he snuck along the wall to the central aisle. The sparking lights everywhere were making it a little hard to see, but he could make out a shadow standing over in the next cubicle. His senses once again became hyper aware and he stole across the cold tiles into range. He may have missed the Blaster; but this Tank was going to pay.

His sword lashed out from the shadows and slammed into the metallic side of the Tank. It then snapped.

Dark was taken aback by this. Really taken aback. His Katana was forged in the Terra Volta Reactor from Adamintium. It COULDN'T SNAP! As he turned to run though, weaponless, four images slowly swam into view. Four more pepperpots destealthing. Dark screamed that he was a Villain too and he really needed a Robot Mastermind, although with far more expletives.

That was when they cried out "EXTERMINATE!" and shot him. He had chosen this as his Moment of Glory though and his body was already working on repairing the damage when they shot him again. This time he fell dead, and this time, there was no Teleportation Field.
  19. The dull wheezing sound didn't make Miss Liberty turn, neither did the appearance of two gaudy coloured figures; though she wondered if the Trickster was still active when she turned and saw the strange blue box that had appeared from nowhere.

She was just picking up the communicator to see if Bridger would take a look in the Atlas Park for some of the Teen-Heroes mucking about when the first figure spoke to her.

"Good Morning.", he said, "And who might you be?"

Inwardly, a burning resentment ran through her body. Since the jetpacks SHE had personally gone out of her way to collect had run out, she had faded back into the mist of heroes. No matter that HER Longbow were patrolling both the Rogue Islands and Paragon, it was always Gramps that people knew.

Being a professional though, it didn't show on her face.

"Welcome to Paragon City, Citizen. I'm Miss Liberty, your guide to some of the weird things that go on round here.".
Looking at his clothes, she felt rather gaudy herself and wondered if ICON were doing a sale where she could get her costume updated.

"Splendid, we'll take the whole tour please. I'm the Doctor.", the young man said, shaking her hand vigorously.
"Yeh, and I'm Rose", the young woman said, hands on her hips. Miss Liberty listened as they spoke and came to the conclusion they were English. She had already pencilled them in as Natural's, and asked to see their ID cards.

The young man pulled out his ID card and he was a Normal Level 1 Natural, so she pointed over to Atlas City Hall. He hadn't come through OutBreak, so he probably knew what he was doing. When she asked the girl though, she looked nervous.

"Will this do?", said the Doctor, flashing the card in front of her again.
Miss Liberty frowned. "No Citizen, that's your ID card, I'm looking for Rose's."

Nearby there was a fluttering and a ragged looking Starling landed in a tree.

Through the eyes of the Starling, Dr. Vahzilok stared at the two new arrivals.
"Your level of miniaturisation astounds me. With this technology alone I could make my creations able to take on the SupaTrolls and win. Who are these two capes?"

A voice from the darkness said

"SupaTrolls? With my GENIUS, you could take on Statesman and Recluse at the same time. You have always aimed too low Vahzilok. Those two 'capes' will cause the most problems to your plans; so I would suggest that your Eidolons kill them as soon as possible.

The hand that the dark voice belonged to flicked a switch and a low buzz filled the air. From the Starling's eyes, Dr. Vahzilok saw the Police Drones spark and die out, the light fading in their eyes.

"Remarkable, I shall send my Eidiolon's to Atlas City Hall.", Dr. Vahzliok murmured. "Isn't it strange that you are after a Doctor, but you need a Doctor to kill him?"

The figure moved out of the Darkness slowly as if on wheels. "There is nothing that I need any DOK-TOR for now that I have your Eidiolons.", and a purple beam leapt out into Dr Vahzilok's back. Dr. Vahzilok shook for a moment and then slumped against his controls before the Teleportation Field settled over him.

"We were entombed, but we live on. This is only the beginning. We will prepare, we will grow stronger. When the time is right we will emerge and take our rightful place as the supreme power of the univerzszszsse!"
