1. As an example, this was from a game I played in.

We were hired to kill off this accountant who was making his way through the sewers with an obscene amount of money.
I spotted the guy first, realised it wasn't who we thought it was and legged it. The other's opened up on him.
The 'accountant' turned out to be a hired killer who beat the stuffing out of the team, but through a combination of obscene dicerolls and firepower they took him out.

Licking their wounds they returned to the base, and I crawled back out to try and meet them. I opened the door to their house and found their bodies hung from the ceiling rafters. Obviously the person who hired the killer wasn't pleased and sent in a large body of thugs to decimate them.

I ran for my life and kept running.

Overall, team wipe, despite being 'successful', but you know, we still had fun and later learnt the hired killer was an 'unkillable', but we'd got very lucky. Didn't really change the scenario, (we knew it was a suicide mission when we started the game), but the feeling of freedom was still there.
2. Often it's like grinding, it's not grinding/railroading if it's fun.

Players want to kill Hitler? Fine, I can have him arise again as a Zombie, Goeballs take over, have history alter, have them assassinate a double. That's the sign of a good plot.

Players WILL run roughshod over any plot you have unless you sweeten it all the way with rewards. They don't have to mean much but freedom of choice is just a reward as well.

Railroading IS necessary at times, but just don't let the players catch on you're doing it.

If the players really want to blow up the world, let them, then present them with the bill

From your plot

First of all, the players are meta-gaming because they shouldn't know that much about Hitler (as the British forces really didn't) [Hence the Enigma machine being such a great find].
Secondly, given the problems spotted in 'The Great Excape' it would be easy to stop the players without being heavy handed.
Thirdly, where's the personality to the village? Why isn't there a girlfriend of one of the Soldiers who's told him she's pregnant? Maybe the mill contains Jewish Ex-Nasi Soldiers who have news on the Concentration camps? Maybe Rommel needs the village to stay open so the Frontline can be fed?

It's railroading, but it's effective and non-invasive. If you don't want the players to leave, don't just say no, say 'How much are you willing to lose?'.

[edit; Ooh thought of worse Players kill Hitler and he becomes a martyr to the German people, they launch an early strike against Great Britain; catch Churchill off guard and land in London with their newest P.O.W's, the players. Through some miracle of fate, they escape to the countryside and hold up in a small farm with a mill...repeat game ]
3. Slotting :Add 1 Acc to other Acc's for PVP

Web : Acc, Immob, Rechrg
Caltrops : Acc, Slowx2 (Damage is next to useless)
Triage : 3xHeal, Rechrg (Works well at low levels on hench, save it for yourself on higher)
Acid Mortar : Acc, Damage, ToHitDebuff, Range
FFG : 3xDef
Poison (weak) Acc, Rechrg
Seeker (weak) Acc, 3xDmg
Trip : Acc, 3xDmg,Rechrg
Detonator : (Not used) For a Rob MM, it might be a waste.
4. Traps is Fantastic.

Let's see... I can Speed-Supress/Fear and damage with Caltrops (great power), Fly/Speed Supress with Web, Taunt, Debuff and Damage with Acid Mortar, Hold and Damage with Poison; all the while whilst my boys are shlocking into them.

Fair enough, with Robotics it's not as useful as you'll be barraging most of the time, but with Zombie/Ninja and even Thugs it rocks.

For Robotics, you're best looking into Leadership (as you'll be at point blank), but a good pulling technique would be...

Mastermind runs up, drops Mortar (which aggros as it fires), Surround it with Caltrops, back off and set up a Triage around your robots that are gunning them down. Lob the odd web grenade at runners.

8 man mob up to +2 will go down easily with that combo, before you add FFG.
5. Next Question : As the Villain's Tank is a mixture of the Mastermind and the Brute, why can one not take it and the other not want to take it?

7. Without Google would be impossible; as I've got a head full of retail Will do mine later.
8. Remember that Aid Self is interruptible as well, so DoT him as often as poss.
9. I've been running so many projects atm both at home and at work, as well as levelling people and just plain forgetting, that I haven't been there
10. Hmmm...my french is a bit rusty so I babelfished it and there do seem to be a lot more emotional than rational responses there.

Perhaps it's just we English expect things to be broken, so we look on it in a more cynical way
11. One problem Pious, with getting Stamina, if you're a "hands on" MM; you'd have to pick two of Sprint, Hurdle and Health.

I don't see any real situation where Sprint and Hurdle would be preferable.
12. Similar thing SG, you're playing the OOC game at the same time as the IC game. The OP was using OOC tactics to win an IC game and then claiming he'd won the OOC game.
13. Ok, Meta-gaming is where you play two or three levels of 'game' in one.

An example of which would be to try and seduce your friend's girlfriend in order to get him to lose a CoH battle. or as simple as throwing the dice at people who score a natural 20.

Both are wrong in that the other player don't know who you are being at any specific time. This leads onto griefing, which is the verbal equivalent of bullying, where you are subjecting a person to abuse in order to 'win'.

Now if people understand that this is happening, they can make valid judgements on behalf of their characters over who to promote; but with what you're doing, you're influencing the players to make judgements that they or their characters might not feel comfortable with.

Let's put it this way, if I started (as a character) to spread vicious rumours about your character with the 'game' of getting you to cancel your account, what would you think afterwards when I told you it was all a game.

For Reference: Watch Trading Places (film) sometime, two gents decide to ruin two men's lives for a dollar bet.
14. Stasis - What If?

(And that's not just me being the romantic, I really liked it)
15. Stacking Cognito.

If 1 person in an 8 man team has it, then it's 8 times as powerful as each other person gets it.

If 8 people in the team have it, then it's another 8 times as powerful as you get the stacking effect. Notice the Perception Buffs when you're next to Drones.
16. One thing to look at is the secondary buffs.

Tactics : De-Stealth Buff
Assault : De-Taunt/Placate Buff : Nice
Maneuvers : De-Confusion/Fear Buff : Very nice for MM's.

Teh Partee?

Weasel will be there, but as usual I'll have a variety of disguises ready
19. Addition : QoL : Quality of Life : Any fix that doesn't actually change how things work, but makes it easier to see.
(Example : Turning off Aiming Drones perpetually annoying noise)
20. There's a number of very good books out there that go through the basic process (which I sell ) but fundamentally it works on:

For Figures, Go with Tilt's advice and learn the basic ovals and rules for figures. (I.E. Male bodies are 6 heads tall, Superheroes are 7 heads tall)
For Industrial Landscapes : Set your vanishing point and view point and draw with these lines set up; use the same lines for foreshadowing.

Or just Click here
21. Take it. Love it. Buy it fancy undies. It's worth it

But shuts down Teleport/Summons/Ground Based Offence/Defence powers.
24. Thing is that you're roleplaying the takeover, not the character; so what you're actually doing is roleplaying an OOC situation.

Now, if you all know this, fine. If you don't, you're treading very close to meta-gaming/griefing.

It doesn't really matter how well you did it if someone's getting hurt along the way. That's when RP turns into psychological bullying.
