  1. *hugs Stase* Cats do have this strange behaviour where they can sense if you're paying something else more attention and want it back on them. Keep going honey
  2. [ QUOTE ]
If only - more along the lines of "use this system and pay us money. No it doesn't matter that MS Visio does all the same things and is far easier to use. Use ours. Pay us, pay us, pay us MORTAL..... (it gets scary around there)"

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you said you were stuck for a story?

    Best Henchmen?

Ok, Let's say I can web your MM and you fall to the ground. (minor damage).
Your henchmen surround you as I drop caltrops and my Jounin do the same.
You're now taking 3xcaltrop damage, but if Bodyguard is up, you're taking 3/2 caltrop damage, with the other 1/4's going out to the Henchmen; who are also taking 3xdamage for being in close; so they're dropping a lot faster than they would do normally; whilst everyone is suffering slows/interrupts; (preventing re-summoning/medicine Heals), Acid raining on you (splash debuff damage), Poision Cloud (Hold/Toxic) also affect all of you; and if you decide to use Travel to get away from the caltrops; bodyguard ceases as they're trapped within the deathtrap.

Given that disorients and confuses are raining in on you as well, your leadership won't help as they all pick differing targets to attack; unless you spam 'Attack this git', at which point your not attacking.

If you manage this, my Genin soak my damage; and if you can get free, I just Heal Self/SJ away before any more damage.

It's all in the location; in the open you can drop me easily; in a small area that I can set up with web, Thugs collapse against Ninja

Similar happens with most of the ranged; as long as I can fix melee.

Without bodyguard, your henchmen tend to stay free of the PBAOE's and can happily interrupt/fire on me, losing Supermacy doesn't mean quiet as much to them.
  4. I'm actually waking up at intolerable (read:Morning) hours to work on this now. Also looking gorward to the screenwriting one in July.

    Best Henchmen?

I'll take your Thugs and Pwn them with 3xCaltrops, Firecages, Disorients every 5 seconds, Placates every 20, Poison Cloud, Acid Mortar, FFG and Mister Servant webbed well out of harm's way.

Bodyguard actually works against you with Caltrops

Your story is encrypted, no one can read it - you're only judged on your word count - so no, you won't need permission

    [/ QUOTE ]
I meant if alot later on I decided ot send it to a publiser's or something like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then your on dodgy legal ground, specifically that you're making money from Cryptic's work. The only way you'd be able to get that published would be through with Cryptic's permission; and I'd say they get 5 stories a week asking for that.

Charity would also be a problem, as any negative view of any of Cryptic's artisitc property could be seen as slander/libellous.

My advice, if you think it could sell, is to chat with RJ/Bridger about it and try and have it made part of their own Charity effort, as they did in Brighton, with all the proceeds going to Charity. A very similar thing was done at Continuum with scripts for the LRP's.
I can't say if they'd accept, but it will get your writing name out there for possible publishers and some money to a very deserving charity.

It would be a very nice idea though, and if any of the Rednames agree, it might be something to look at after I8 is released and debugged, as I think they might be too busy until then.
  7. I've got a multiraced Devil called Guttenberg. Anything goes

Please, if I even think about using the phrase, "Oh, my darling!" and have anyone running anywhere near the vicinity of someone else's arms, shoot me. Then shoot me again. Then burn my PC.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was our second date wasn't it?
  9. I've long ago decided that I really should have more respect for cause/effect, so I went to the shops. Circling each Cause, I wrote a chapter then found the resultant effect. Words just coming are out typer than I can fast them.

    Words first, Edit later.

Ranged henchmen... that really leaves you with Robotics, Thugs or Mercs. Each have their respective benefits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Apart from, say Ninja?

Superior Soft Control (Disorient, Slow, Placate, Hold)
    Melee or Ranged Devastation.
    Ability to be hid amongst.

    Not to be discounted.
  11. There's also a number of roleplayers that don't look on the forums (grrrr!) (This guy had never heard of Galaxy Girl and had been on Union a year); but if you send @umbralwarrior a tell, he's got a RP SG as well.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Yipes!! Surely you can contact the shipping company, tell them what happened, and they claim on the insurance and send you replacement goodies?

[/ QUOTE ] I think that's what my friend is doing as I wasn't involved in the transaction yet, but he said to go ahead with my purchase and he'll sort it out, so thanks to Amazon, who I hope will deliver, Tuesday sees me upgraded back to non-lag
  13. New Post : The reason for which will become clear in a moment.

As some may know my computer had a collapsed drive just before Brighton, so I've been in dire straits with my weedy little back up system since. Just found out today that my drive and my upgrade disc, that I'd ordered from the friend who built the original, has been delivered and signed for. The problem being that the person signing for it has never lived near them; or in fact is ever known by them; so the delivery of £100 pounds worth of stuff has been made to the wrong person in the wrong house which the Post Office know nothing about and deny haveing ever received any phone calls about despite telling people that they may record any phone calls and have been asked to record these phone calls.

Leaving me on this underpowered kids toy and unable to play CoH properly.

I'm really writing the wrong story for NaNo...
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Is it wrong to feel slightly sorry for your main character, due to the fact you know what you're going to be putting them through in the next chapter?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not wrong, expected. Coz if you do, your audience will as well

Case in point: How do you think the writer of the Wretch arc felt after writing mission 3?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Decided not to try and up my word count today.(I'm already ahead) and just plan the plot whilst listening to Dark Ambience.

Just don't tap me on the shoulder or I'll hit the ceiling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As is typical, I've already changed my mind and started writing about the MC's journey into the deserted tunnels. It was round about the time that the two attack dogs crouched, ready to pounce that my cat decides to slam into the window after being chased by the Ginger Tom.

Heartbeat is finally down to 120 again.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Then I shall keeel him and grind his bones to make a paste...

    Or...I'll just say "okay" .

  18. And the pendulum swings the other way.

This morning I get up and I can't even focus on writing the chapter headings. Pah.

Now, as for what's going on...Clockwork are, to all intents and purposes, Golems.

Apart from self-awareness, runic marks of life, clay, the Chem, sure...
  20. Flip a 5 sided coin. Or better yet, mingle them all together in one uberplot!

Or jsut write the one you like the most

I managed to write 100 words on people waiting for an elevator and going down it. I don't like to call it 'padding' though, I prefer 'elaboration'.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I wonder who'll have quite possibly the best padding in their Novel ?
I.E Spending the most amount of words to describe something rather insignificant..
Perhaps like boiling an egg... who knows

    Chiefette

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be Stephen King - I mean nearly a chapter devoted to a drop of water running down the side of a glass.... sheeesh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or an entire story about an autopsy, but then the patient was conscious but paralysed at the time...
  22. Mine has no taste left after this installment, and the Doctor seems to have little as well. {New Excerpt up]
  23. No word count in yet from Gideon, Landlubber, Frozen Rogue, Miss Blue Wind or Overfiend. Doing ok?
