This is by far the best description I've heard for DM yet.
Really you can't go wrong with any secondaries. It all comes down to what you want to accomplish with the character. Personally I'm a big fan of DM/WP. Have been since the i11 beta. Has Siphon Life to help cover burst damage, -tohit to play off your defense, decent resists and amazing regen. Not to mention plenty of endurance via Quick Recovery, Dark Consumption and Stamina (if you so choose). I've got a scrapper version though, so a brute may vary, but I doubt there's much difference aside from a fury addiction. -
Quote:I don't mean to threadjack... But a Virtue Civil War would be all kinds of awesome. At least in a giant on-going RP event way. Though finding a reason for the heroes to be at each other's throats would be difficult. There's no need to divide the heroic community. We don't want a marvel Civil War event cropping up on our hands. Gods of the Golden Age forbid. *shivers at the thought*
Anyway, back on topic. Sorry I had to miss this event. I was able to make the one last year (or was it the year before?) with my scrapper and it was a lot of fun. Even won a costume contest. -
The only thing that could be axed from the Posi TF without me missing are the patrol mish and all the ones where you have to run to other zones and talk to people. It's filler and if they wanted to use them for story purposes they could let us call them, or at least have us talk to people only in Steel Canyon. Though there's no denying there are complaints about the current Posi TF and times can greatly vary. I've been on PuGs that have taken 4 hours to complete and ones that did it under 1.5 hours.

Put me down for hoping they keep the old Posi. I hate to see it changed and shortened just so they can fit this mysterious new enemy in. Would have been happy with the map change in the last mission to the new dam. Plus the TF change means the merits for completing will probably change.

An MMO is out of beta when they pull the plug. In other words, there are always going to be bugs no matter how much testing is done.

My current brutes:
SS/FA 50 - Not the first brute I've rolled, but definately one of my favorites. Might not be as durable as others but he can smash with the best.
Claws/SR 44 - Love this combo. Tried it on a scrapper awhile ago and it never really clicked. Fury made all the difference.
Stone/Inv 14 - Fun so far. Stone Melee is probably the smashiest set I've played yet. Really want to take this guy blueside once GR hits.
Deleted brutes:
WM/WP - Not a bad combo by any means, but I like to avoid repeating sets.
Dark/Dark - My first brute. Got him to 35 but had no clue how to build him at the time. I regret deleting him now.
Elec/Stone - Started out fine, but the higher level I got, the more it seemed like a chore to play him. Granite just killed the brute feeling for me. -
-
Oh no, whatever will the bridgers and doorsitters do now. Those poor Fire/Kins will be lonely and teamless. Won't somebody please think of the farmers?!
-
You build fury by attacking and being attacked. It doesn't matter if you get hit or not.

That game should have went to the Vikes. So many bad calls. Unfortunately now I have to cheer on the Colts in the Superbowl.
-
Still playing through. My soldier's 25. Unfortunately my online play depends on whether or not my router decides to work.
-
I'm not holding my breathe the for the Vikes. We'll get close and blow it at the last second as usual.

I don't mind the random banter in VU, and have been known to chime in a fair bit. You can usually find answers to whatever question you may have on VU. I've also never been let down by the people in VU when I'm looking to form a TF.
I can't comment too much on the other channels since I'm not a member of them, but you could always switch chat channel tabs and go about more direct routes when looking to team. Utilizing broadcast, search comments, sending tells, etc. -
I hear you on the being sick part. Before this morning I had no idea you could get hungover from NyQuil...

Depends what you what to do with your Rad/Rads. Do you want a leveling build, team, PvP, perma-AM, soft-capped range def, etc?
I could throw all kinds of builds together (and I have over the years), but unless we know what you're going for and where you're at with your build we can't really make accurate suggestions. -
I've had luck with Sharks in the past. Got many teams together for Jack/Eochai and the Winter Lord.
The only problem I see with forming teams for the Winter Lord this year is when you exit Lord Winter's realm you come out in Atlas/Mercy, making getting back to the original zone you were in a little more time consuming. -
I'm half tempted to roll one up now. If I didn't have two other brutes I was working on. How bad could it be?
-
Seems like it would be the mother of all endurance hogs. Though with IOs managing end is ridiculously easy.
On the other hand you can get a permable, AoE, mag 4 stun (stacked, of course) with Oppressive Gloom + Fault. -
Was actually pondering this earlier. Came up with a Stone/Force Field controller. Use the crystal skin for the stone powers and color it green to make it look like constructs and color your bubbles green as well.

Minnesota got 10-20" of snow over Christmas. You guys can have some of ours if you really want.

Jean Grey is the Pheonix, resurrecting is kind of her thing.
Bucky's the new Captain America. -
Quote:Optimus Prime.Haha, sure thing. Idk many robotic jews? But, if you ever decide to make a bluesider that would fit into the SG I would love it for you to join us
I've got a robot brute that will be going blueside once Going Rogue hits.
