Quote:This could easily be solved by a private global channel for the members. At least to make communication easier. The other amenities provided by a base really aren't needed. Granted I know a lot of RP goes on in SG bases, but I don't think it would be that detrimental to this group. What better way to show your support of the Emperor and his city than to be in public and take part in it?I think the biggest obstacle to this idea is that Praetorians cannot join Supergroups or access Bases until they choose either Hero or Villain at the end of their arcs.
It's a shame there isn't an AE building in Praetoria, because that would be the perfect tool to continue story and character development. Otherwise you could probably get to level 24-25 just by re-running other people's missions and various street hunting/Underground clearing.
I forgot, do we unlock a second costume slot in Praetoria or is that not available until the characters more to Paragon/Rogue Isles? I'm fairly certain there isn't a place to turn in Halloween costume salvage, so that's out.
Enhancements won't be a problem since we can e-mail whatever our Praetorians may need from other characters. Plus we've got access the the market. I'm not sure if there's a store that sells SOs though.
Anyway, I'm really interested in this group. Been dying to get into some good RP lately since my current SG is nearly a ghost-town. Though I can't guarantee I'd be able to participate every week if you choose to do a weekly static team. But I'd certainly try. I'll keep watching the thread for updates. Otherwise you can reach me @Silver Tooth in-game. -
Quote:They have? Unless I missed all the "Make Fury Less Awesome" threads.yeah, cause it's not like people haven't been wanting changes to Fury for several years or anything.
I'll admit I'm not happy with the changes, but as I said it could have been worse. It's not the end of the world. Brutes are still awesome. I just want to know, why the nerf now?
They claimed it was to balance brutes against scrappers and tankers. Shouldn't that have come sooner? We've had hero/villain co-op since the V-Day event in 2006. Issue 10 gave us the Rikti War Zone and co-op teaming was commonplace. Issue 12 reinforced co-op teaming with Cimerora. Fury was just fine then.
I'm pretty sure it all boiled down to the doomsaying that "archetype X is going to replace archetype Y come Going Rogue". People claimed corruptors were going to replace defenders. Vigilance was buffed recently. They claimed brutes were going to replace tankers. Tankers got a HP buff and the Bruising effect. Brutes got a Fury nerf. -
I'm not thrilled with the Fury changes, but it could have been worse.
Not too worried about building/maintaining Fury on teams. I don't usually have much of a problem in the co-op zones. Can't imagine post GR to be much different. Just have to beat the tank to the spawn. Scrappers do it all the time. -
*floats in as a bit*
Yes. Yes.
edit:
Here's my attempt at a Tron-esque costume for my mastermind.

I think you're confusing the fitness and fighting pools. The fitness pool is very nice for brutes in general purely for Stamina, which keeps the SMASH going longer. The fighting pool gives you Tough and Weave which stack nicely ontop of other powers in Invul. I believe Tough caps your smashing/lethal resist which is handy considering those are the most prevalent types of damage in the game. Weave gives you more defense, thus making you harder to hit, and stacks nicely with Invincibility.
Soft-cap just means you're at or above 45% defense. -
When solo I usually open with RI, then use LR on the group to slow their recharge and delay the second volley, and finally use EF.

Quote:Very valid point. If I were you, I'd wait a few weeks until after GR comes out to do this event. I doubt it will be as simple as flipping a switch to change your alignment to vigilante. It might involve something as elaborate as a Task Force or rare recipes/salvage. It might take a while for people to change their alignments.
Quote:Q4 How many times can we change alignments? How long does it take?
GF: There are no limits to the amount of times that a player's character switches alignments. Regarding how long it takes to change an alignment, we are currently monitoring feedback and alignment switching progression in our Going Rogue Closed Beta. Our current goal is that a "casual" gamer should be able to switch their alignment in a week or so. A "hardcore" gamer should be able to switch their alignment significantly faster. -
Marauder. Definitely Marauder. His only ranged attack is Hurl.
Edit: Whoops. Didn't read you had already solo-ed him.
There's an AV version of a Greater Devoured in an arc. Forget her name though. She's only got the toxic spit I think.
Nemesis could work as well. I'm not sure if he has much more than Force Bolt for ranged attacks. -
Think Empathy is bad for button mashing? You should try a Kin.

This had to be one of my favorites as well. A group of us were on as soon as the servers would let us when i10 went live. Was business as usual in Atlas Park until the sky turned that ominous dark green and every zone was invaded at once. We split up our team and formed a few more to rally the heroes in the zone. We'd get things decently organized and move onto the next zone. I think we inadvertently made the hill in Talos the rally point, since at the time people were content to fight in front of the train and let many Rikti get zapped by the drones.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Seriously though, best server ever. And that goes for any other server on any other game. -
With the ability to have minions zone with us, I generally keep them out at all times. However I usually 'Go to' them if I'm in a high traffic area, to someplace they won't get in the way.

Fours years makes me veteran enough, right?
Anyway...
- Been here since May of 2006 after a friend of mine made me sit down and give the free trial a shot. Been hooked ever since.
- I like to think of myself as a Jack of all Trades when it comes to this game. I'm not known for any one thing, but take part in a lot of things. Whether it be RP, PvP, TFs, etc.
- Hopeless altoholic. I have 26 characters on Virtue so far and haven't finished a build for any of them yet.
- Global is @Silver Tooth, or I can usually be found in the VirtueUnited global channel, or when I get the chance hanging out during any of the Cape's shows. -
I've seen a great Sonic/Dark in action. Frankenslotted to get the most tohit debuff, dam and acc into his attacks. Made a good combination since whatever managed to hit us was resisted by the sonic shields.
Sonic/Ice was pretty good as well. The one I used to team with always dropped Liquefy then Blizzard whenever they could, so as to keep things from running out of it. -
Currently leveling a Fire/Elec and it's been good so far. Not sure if I want to go the defense set bonus route or aim for +hp and regen though.

What we didn't get to see is the kid dressed as Statesman running in and punching him afterwards.

Keep your distance and keep attacking? Normally a Dark/Dark brute is not someone to worry about in PvP, at least in my experience. Most likely it'll boil down to a test of endurance. You'll have it, and he'll eventually run out of it. On top of that I believe energy resist for DA is pitifully low, and that's the majority of your damage type.

Quote:I can only echo what Kioshi posted about SS pre-Footstomp. It's all single-target. Don't get me wrong though it's pretty good single target especially fueled by Rage./WP it is, then. What do you think of SS pre-32, on an inexpensive build?
