Quote:Anyone else see the coded message there? Let me put on my Beck-tacles and help you see too:I love Paragon Studios!!!!!!
And I'm quite happy.
Happy Monday.
Within the week, she'll be heading for the hills as well. Doom is imminent. -

Quote:We already have had it confirmed by Noble Savage back when the wolf/fox tail was pulled from a future anthropomorphic booster and dropped into the mutant pack that a4 legged characters/Fat characters/Huge Women/4 arms are all things that have been brought up since release many times and replied to by devs. They are unlikely to happen due to the Sheer amount of work involved both to implement and for future expansions. It would require reworking every single costume part (which is a crazy number) and for 4 legged every attack/reaction to damage/movement type. One of these is probably enough work for 2 expansions and would slow down anything after that.
Unless they come up with a completely new to make the costume designer work (so they Sexy Jay doesn't spend half his time tailoring each new costume piece for each character skeleton and size) I don't see things like this happening. Of course they have worked out things they thought were impossible before so what do I know? I just don't expect it.
More monster parts is definitely a good idea though. Personally I would like to be able to combine monter feet and other parts like pants too (for that poorly incognito look). My first 50 was a bug eyed alien and some nice arms and legs would have been fun.
Still not sure what a "Strike Pack" would be...
furry/anthro/animal parts pack has been in the works. I think reference to animal parts in this thread is referring to that rather than new skeletons.
Additionally, ever since [ninja run] was released with the martial arts pack, many people have been asking for some sort of beastly sprint that included bounding on all fours. Considering how relatively seamlessly the severe posture of [ninja run] blends with existing animations, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that a four footed beastly run power could happen without needing new skeletons for animation.
Lastly, the strike pack is most likely the last two tiers for the alpha slot. All of which are already outlined on the Going Rogue page. Perhaps it was held back either to pace the more voracious players or to work out some final kinks with the "level shift" that the highest tiers offer amongst their bonuses. -
I fear my tastes might be a bit out of sync with most forumites. But here goes:
Best TV: Treme, especially the two long shots of the funeral procession in the last half hour of the season. Some of the best cinematic acting I've seen in years. Period.
Best Comic: Night Business
Best Play: Buddy Cop 2 by TDS
Best Album: Out of the Crypt and Into your Heart, Zombina and the Skeletones (wins almost by default because the older I get the rarer it becomes that I will actually buy an album the year it is released)
Best Album I BOUGHT This Year: tie between Mclusky Do Dallas Mclusky, 2002 (hey, I did buy the EP back in 2002 dammit!) and Hearts and Unicorns Giant Drag, 2004
Edit:
Best Indie Game: ********* (can't say it here due to forum rules, but based on awards and nominations already announced, for once I'm not the only one calling something I like "best") -
Fare thee well, Ocho.
I've enjoyed your posts and your occasional presence on Triumph Watch over the years. Good luck with the move too! -
While out for the holidays, missed this departure.
A belated farewell and thanks Castle, if you are still reading from your civilian account. -
Good sale.
Hope this brings some curious newcomers as well as folks returning. It's a good deal to jump back in for 30 days, try out the new GR content, i19 AND get a few booster pack perks to boot! -
I lost a single Ragnorak recipe along with a piece of Lockdown I was transferring between characters overnight. My email was rolled back to an older date, duping another purple--a confuse recipe worth much less compared to the Ragnorak.
Kinda disappointing. -

The Carnival of Light has been on Primal Earth for a number of years. I've been teaming with them on and off since '06. Festival is quite a peach.

Really like the aesthetics of these new skins. Not yet done any abandoned warehouse missions, but I agree that the old skins would likely be better there. In fact, wouldn't mind seeing the old warehouse skins still show up from time to time. Also have not yet encountered the frame rate killing rooms. Hopefully fixes for both these oversights are in the patch pipeline already.

First a question to make sure I'm not missing some ini file or some such that can be altered:
Is there any way for an individual player to reorganize the tabs within the salvage window? If so, please enlighten me.
If not, may I please request that reworking the salvage window be bumped to the top of the QoL improvement list? Please?
Now with incarnate salvage, currently, the two most USEFUL salvage tabs, invention and special (for checking how many merits of various types you have, etc) have been bumped off the chat window requiring using those pesky tiny arrow buttons.
A simple reordering, moving some of the vestigial tabs, such as "base" and "component" salvage to the far right would be acceptable. Or a drop menu like the badge interface now uses. Ideally, I would love to be able to reset my default tab to inventions rather than all. Would also love to have some sorting options on salvage by rarity or see them not as icons but small icons and in list format.
Anyways, this is probably my one lasting annoyance with any of the changes introduced with i19. So far, everything else has been great. -
Quote:Different TFs here, but similar story. Had an uncommon slotted by the end of a half day after doing three TFs. Have yet to do the Incarnate TFs though.I got the Recharge/Heal Uncommon Boost, here's what I did:
1. Ramiel's arc. Got 1 Shard.
2. Bought G'rai Matter with Vanguard Merits. That's 1 Component.
3. Ran ITF. Got Ancient Nictus Component (2nd Component) and 6 Shards.
4. Crafted third Component from 4 Shards. (2 Shards left over)
5. From the 3 Components, I crafted and slotted my Common Alpha Boost.
6. Did a LGTF. Got a component and 5 Shards. (Now up to 7 Shards)
7. Did a Dr. Kahn TF. Got a component and 6 Shards. (Now up to 13 Shards)
8. Spent a Component and 8 Shards for an Uncommon Component. (5 Shards left)
9. Spent 4 Shards to create a Component. (1 Shard left)
10. Spent my Common Boost, 2 Common Components, and the one Uncommon Component for the Uncommon Boost and slotted it.
Then I did the two new Incarnate TFs.
One day. -
New findings indicate that despite prior postulations, there is no life on Earth.

Quote:The market certainly is buggered currently. Many uncommon salvage bits are coming close to outpricing rare bits.I personally like the idea of level 50s running around in the game that are so clueless that:
1. I can be sure that they will overpay me for items in the market.
One thing I've wondered about those monkey farms, do they not award tickets? Or does this new round of AE babies not even know how to use the ticket reward interface and simply buy or random roll some of the other salvage bits?
I've begun to presume these new farms also are short on influence/infamy due to the number of level 40+ beggars I've recently encountered at the marketplace using both local and broadcast asking for donations. Meanwhile, I'm on my level 15-25 xp off to do every arc characters, each with well over 40 million to their name. And that's WITHOUT aggressive daily marketeering, much of it just from recipe rolls and lucky drops in the regular content.
BTW, Cap redside on Virtue has been pretty bad the past week and a half, similar to accounts above of Atlas on Freedom.
*shrug* C'est la vie. I have pumpkin pie in front of me currently, so I'm not going to let it bring me down. -
An article about this appeared in today's Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/24/theater/24spider.html
Not sure what to think. Not much of a musical fan myself, preferring some of the rather excellent experimental theater currently happening in the outer boroughs myself, but recently say Promises, Promises which was based on the old film The Apartment. This highly cinematic musical was surprisingly excellent but at times it felt like the set and sculptural elements upstaged the actors.
This may very well happen with Spider Man. But as I read that article, I also couldn't help thinking about the classic episode of This American Life on the topic of "farce" where the narrator describes the most farcical community theater production of Peter Pan. It really does feel to me like Bono and company are on the precipice of amazing failure here. But the best art often proves one wrong! Either way, I'll be watching the reviews for sure. -
Too bad google doesn't handle dying languages like Osage. I've had to pick up bits of that the hard way for playing one of my characters. But at least that's sparked an interest to pick up more of the language before the last of the last of the 200 or so living fluent speakers of the language are gone.
Thankfully, some of the Wazhazhe** youth through 40 somethings are now trying to learn more of the tongue to help keep it alive.
(** that's phonetic Osage for the French named and spelled Osage. Think about it and try this at home: pronounce Osage as if it were a French word. Sounds a lot like Waz-ha-zhe!) -
As has been pointed out upthread, WW's reasoning doesn't jibe with what is coming in issue 19 in the first mission of the incarnate arc. Weather effects ARE there and do a great deal to create an impressive and exciting ambiance.
Dynamic zone weather it may not be, but it does demonstrate how effective purely aesthetic environmental effects can be. And to echo even more posters thus far, we've already had significant resources spent on purely aesthetic environmental effects including UM's reflections and water effects as well as the introduction of physX particles to the game allowing us to blow mail, leaves, trash and debris about. NONE of these major features have any bearing on how your character performs. But they are indeed cool to look at. -
I've got a couple with dual travel powers that actually predate city traveler.
There was one that I may eventually reroll who in retrospect I'm a bit fond of--Mister Meteor--an Earth/Fire tank with both super jump and super speed.
Truth of it is though I think super speed has become rather useless compared to the much more maneuverable and free ninja run. The power could stand for a bit of a revamp in its functionality IMO. To this day, it's too easy to get hung up on small objects that stop you outright if not fully stuck where you hover in space mid jump wedged between something.
Anyways, back to the OP:
Yes. Several. -
Some Lost-style soapbox prophesizing:
A "serverless" environment comes. One with a more advanced global/local naming scheme, permitting duplicate names but not bogging down chat aesthetics. This new paradigm will be upon us within the next two years.
Really I've no idea what this means. But I have this unfounded feeling in my gut that long term, within the next two years, we're going to see some sort of significant change to how servers and the division between them works in game. -
Slightly off topic:
Does the OP remind anyone of issues 0 and 1, when for a brief period, enemies did not check for collision with each other? And when one could agro an entire zone map? The dumpster diving and the proximity mines... so glad I was only level 20 at the time and only read about it and watched it on youtube!
Man I forgot about those times. How far we have come!
