They're filming a movie across the street ATM and I honestly thought it was some more tractor trailers and heavy equipment moving down the road at first. But it swayed from side to side more than that sort of shaking usually does.

Anyone else just feel the quake that hit the east coast? Epicenter was in VA, something around 5.8. Felt it up here in NYC.
I know this is standard fare for you West Coast folks, but very unusual here.
BTW, hope everyone is okay nearer to the epicenter down south. -
Lately (past year or so?) I've been (ab)using the goggles from the science pack for retro costumes.
- Retro goggles
- Modern goggles
Often on full masks without hair.
Why?
- Because they actually provide some interesting details to the back of the head if no hairstyle is present
- Because the lenses take colors just as well as the mask and is great for approximating full faced theatrical old school silver age identities
- Because when mixed with mask patterns, I can if I want have up to 4 colors on any given character's head
BUT this technique is starting to get a little old for me, so I'm hoping some new costume items that work similarly well but provide a wider range of shapes and feels is forthcoming with Freedom, either free4VIP, for purchase or as part of P-Rewards. -
Edit: I see now that Stonehead already posted links. Consider these embedded for your convenience and pleasure.

Gauntlet as in the arcade game. The pioneer of all pioneers into the realm of microtransactions. Feed the meter and watch your health go down regardless of how well you play! 25 cent after 25 cent after 25 cent till you spend all your paper route money for the week. Then emerge red eyed from the cavern of a Putt Putt arcade hall only to realize that it's still day outside, you've no money and the rest of the weekend to burn.

Considering that whip domination and whip assault are the sixth and seventh Paragon Store pay-in powersets, the notion of petless MM's is rapidly approaching obsolescence.

I was under the impression from the 8/10 dev chat notes that Street Justice is not going live with i211 but shortly thereafter? Was that Synapse and Zwill just joshing us?
-
Sadly, finding time to actually play regularly has been the biggest challenge I've encountered as of late.

Looking forward to copious amounts of screenshots of all the new goodies. The next two weeks are hellish for me so best I'll have is 10 minutes here and there to check the forums. But very excited to see all the new shinnies!

The one "longstanding issue" I'd like to see addressed is a means at level 50 of doing mayhem or safeguard missions from other outleveled brackets. Require me to first complete a level 46-50 mission, but at a certain point, please give me a selection menu to say do the Atlas or Kings Row missions, etc.
And level cap me as well for those lowbie missions. Fine. But make them more available to players than they are currently. -

Ever since the five starter origin powers were introduced, I pretty much use those as visual flavor to determine my characters origin.

Quote:Can't speak for the rest of them, but I was grooving more on the "in civilian identity" thing that is a staple theme in many comics. They may or may not have superpowers, their civilian identity may or may not be secret, they may or may not be retired from street level crime fighting, but...People may be taking this 'unpowered' NPC thing to seriously or just not thinking thing through enough. <snip for brevity>
They are in an official role with a bureaucratic organization where it is more appropriate to be dressed in something other than their costume identity. At the very least, it is a neat exercise. It is one they fully employed when they revisioned and expanded Praetoria for all the various signature characters there, especially Cole with his two different costumes and identities. Nothing wrong with keeping with the same idea here for key character contacts. -
Quote:When you save a costume in the costume creator (or a powerset customization scheme), the file saved is a text file. That's where everyone is pulling theirs from. How do you generate the costume codes, or whatever they are called, and how would one use them?
You can cut and paste those posted in this thread into a new text file with a new name in the costumes folder of your CoH directory. When you go to load costumes from the CC, you will now see this new file as an option.
This is very useful when creating uniform looks for supergroups as well as creating twin/clone/duplicate concept characters. -

Not sure if I like the entire Azuria, but this is the first one I've seen with the scarf. I like that bit. If we could do more of a chiffon I think I'd be even more sold on a scarf for her!

Quote:Very much been of this mind. Aside from Deadpool, very few characters in superhero comics breach the "fourth wall." Once one has identified the fourth wall in a game world, i.e. necessary gameplay mechanics that don't blend easily into the genre of fiction being referenced, making ubiquitous and conspicuous explanations for said mechanics only draws undue attention to them. Best to let most reasonable players ignore these hinky issues. And leave it to the humorists like Steelclaw to occasionally parody them.Just more reasons they should of kept game mechanics and CoH storyline seperate.
For example, there are no arcs or in game mythos that explain why at any given moment in Paragon there are approximately 400 purse snatchings occurring in broad daylight. The whole mediporter thing would have been better served to be similarly backgrounded. (As would have AE and power proliferation IMO.)
That being said, I tend to mostly ignore these things anyways even when playing arcs that explicitly focus on the mediporter.
