Quote:Would love to see some various themed confetti style auras: hearts, flowers (not flower petals but say 70's hippie flowers in a rainbow of colors), rainbow confetti and streamers, etc.All that being said, Flower Petal and Playing Cards auras are interesting ideas that are entirely possible. We will keep these suggestions in mind.
Also some more varied themes for symbolic auras, similar to runes but a wider range of themes: mathematical (calculus and linear algebra symbols in a chalky font--similar to the vfx in /em calculate -- but less on a flat surface and more wrapping around the character), quizzical or puzzling symbols (stuff you can see in some of the older mind control vfx--like pound signs, question marks, swirling zagnuts, etc.), numbers (just numbers, maybe in a variety of fonts, 0-9), and inspired by the playing cards suggestion: the four western card suits (hearts, clubs, diamonds & spades).
Quote:Also, I'm not sure if the "fix" has been published to Live yet, but a combat version of the Bats aura was recently checked in, courtesy of the Honey Badger.
And great work fx team on the Autumn path aura! I've been hoping for an aura like this for some time now. *thumbs up* Would it be possible to get a version of this aura with butterflies? I'm serious. If not, could we get a plain butterfly aura then? -

The aura is live and costs 120 ppoints. It has some nice animation to it and takes a wide range of colors. The "splash animation" from when you land a jump is perhaps the best. Definitely the most lush. Looks great in green.

[Rocket Board] style wolf transformation travel power soon pls?
Edit: Zombie Man, is the hat for males and huge only? Is there some equivalent coming for female models? Pilgrim bonnet? -

Agreed. Though the aura is *very* concept specific, it's a very solid implementation of it.

Edit: Aura Just Went Live
Second Edit: The aura looks better in game than in the CC. Was ho-hum about the individual particles in the CC, but the growth patterns are quite nice when tooling about the world. Good effect. Ideally, the particles for this particular path aura would linger perhaps 50% longer than they do, but there may be some tech limitations regarding this?
Original post:
So the aura is not in the store yet but can be viewed under path auras in the CC:
Autumn Path Aura
Despite the name, it is more of a verdant growth aura. Bushy leaves that grow while standing and running along with leaf particles that bounce off while running. Can be fully recolored to take any color. Looks decent with green. My one Eve-like plant heroine will look great with this aura option. No more repurposing Seismic as green vines. -
What hour do these things go live? Working from home today and curious to see what that new mysterious, more-expensive-than-normal-but-looks-really-cool-to-ears-McZwillinger-pathaura looks like...
(btw, get well Zwill. Spent yesterday in the surgical family waiting room at the local hospital. Can make for a long and tiring day.) -

Agreed. This is excellent especially since I use these as "added flavor" for my various characters but would like to use them more regularly in combat. 100+ charges on that revolver? No worries about firing a round now and then!

Cool! Thanks marketing. I'm low on points and glad this isn't anything I want. If you had me spending every week I'd be poor as a church mouse by now!
Will check in next week to see what the new offering is. -

The Maple Avenger: A bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's come to life to fight crime?

There have been VERY VAGUE hints, from Zwill IIRC, that they have some really neat things in the works for dominators. But absolutely no indication of what these things are.
I presume they are powersets, or at least one powerset, and they are tech or animation heavy. My first guess would be something to do with whips since doms have a nice mix of melee, range and control in their powers that could accommodate that sort of powerset.
In my dream of dreams, they are also working on some sort of thrown weapons/signature weapons set (think playing cards, flaming skulls, bowling pins, hand fans, tomahawks, knives, etc etc.), especially since Beam Rifle demonstrates they now have the tech to customize both weapons in hand and the particle effects of said weapons simultaneously.
I am betting with the new schedule we see between 6 & 8 premium powersets per year. Probably closer to 8 for their financial model to really generate revenue. They need to outpace the vets 550 PP worth of goodies each month. -
[wolf pet]
just my guess. and really only because the cat--erm--wolf is already out of the bag. -
Quote:Because the mechanic is completely different than other armors or almost anything else in the game besides Kheldian shape shifts. It doesn't add anything to your character's avatar - it replaces it entirely with a new model. The model isn't designed to be color tinted (although some MA tech might be able to fix this), and the PowCust code doesn't support customizing that sort of tech. Any way you hack it, new tech and perhaps a newer GUI would be needed.Quote:Hey, while you're working on that, don't forget the good 'ole Kheldian forms.
Equally important to those that like Kheldians, or those that don't play them or the forms because of their current locked in look.
True customization of alternate body forms activated by power type, including the tech and CC interface design to manage these options. This could open up the door for either a more general shape shifting AT or shape shifting powersets nested within existing ATs, complete with things like customizable wolf forms, etc. Just sayin'... -
Quote:Sorry. Though these are the second and third most important questions in reference to canon characters... (And ones I fully support!)Will Battle Maiden and Valkyrie be retooled to use said powersets? Obviously Valkyrie should use Staff Melee, and Battle Maiden Titan Weapons.
..THE most important question still remains: when will players get functional underarm wings so Swan can get those rigid stand-ins replaced with the real thing? -
Quote:Pass along to the powers that be: animated textures for character models as base skins, especially ones that conveyed bodies made of energy, gooey stuff, molten materials, starfire, galactic clusters, etc. is something I would run out and spend more $$$ on paragon points to pick up day one. Especially if they incorporated glow tech and if I could then layer things like dimensional chest details and belts from other costume sets over them.As for getting those textures for characters, all I can say is that I’ve seen our character team do increasingly amazing things.
But from your response, I get the idea this is not something you would be working directly on... but seriously pass the word along. And then suggest that they draft Chris Greggory to do these animated textures. What I'm suggesting are basically the skins that would turn characters into less-than-corporeal forces of nature. So an environmental artist would be a natural fit for the task! -
Quote:Yeah. Was a bit of a "bwuh?" moment for me as well. Lots of cooks in the kitchen I suppose.I think it says something about how much faith I have left in the mission writers that I'm *still* not sure if Darrin Wade is playing the long con, or if the writer of this arc just didn't read Wade's arc through to the end and assumed stealing artifacts from the Midnighters for his own use was his entire shtick.
While I liked Part I, this mini arc felt like "say hello to my little deus ex machina!"
*shrug* At least the bad writing is worth an alignment merit.
Edit to add: Finding the cell phone was silly.
Also found the chained map, where you take chase, felt a bit hamfisted. Particularly because the legacy lab map didn't feel like the place for the Rulu-Shin to say "You have invaded our home." Really? You guys live in a clean room? Dressed like that?
I also wasn't sure if the Hamidon at the end was supposed to be a maw of Rularuu or it was just coincidence that I ended up in the Abyss. The map locations in the first arc made much more sense as scenery moving the plot along and capturing a unique feel for the arc. Where here it felt like someone trying to make the most of the library of pre-existing maps, not fully articulating what was repurposed and what was supposed to represent the original source material for the map. In other words, the conveyance of map choices felt like something one would expect of a more amateurish fanfic AE arc rather than a for sale Signature Story Arc.
But on the plus side: I did like seeing those Shadow Shard portals as a means of bouncing from map to map. Out of all the legacy features, always thought those were some of the best bits of environmental artwork in game!
And though I didn't really find the third chain of maps to be well executed, the first two maps worked fine from my perspective for the story. I liked the black sand version of the big caves map. -
Definitely not CoX. Too much fingers.
