I'm on a Mac laptop and I download the .dmg file that is linked in the forums, drag it to the Applications folder and then double click to go to the launcher. However, it doesn't go to the launcher, it just doesn't do anything and says the application isn't responding.

I had tried getting the test server to work a few weeks back and it got through the launcher, but the download was something absurd like 168 hours so I didn't let it run (that was also AFTER I had left it patch throughout the night while I was asleep).

Is there any other way to get test server on a Mac?

Issue 19 will feature 9 new levels?

lol no, Ana's chest slider isn't that high up. A little higher than average (average being the lowest possible) but not unrealistically large. And she wears clothes! She looks like call girl, but she's wearing clothes.

So I have this character on City of Villains, Ana Cruz, who is a Venezuelan model who privately operates a drug and weapons smuggling cartel.

Anyways, I checked the news today and found this article:

Okay, perhaps its just me being amused by it.

But anyone else have any incidents where a real life version of one of their characters arises?

I'm LOVING Dual Pistols. What it lacks in damage, it makes up for in animation.

Is the damage the best? No.
Is the animation great? Yes.
Do I feel strong playing the set? Yes.
Am I strong playing the set? Debatable.
Is it the greatest set ever? Probably not.
Is it the most fun set I've played in a while? Yes.
And in the long run, which counts more? My enjoyment.

I really want to test this out but I can't figure out how to get the test server running on my Mac. I tried and it said it would take 165 hours to patch and install, so it didn't seem remotely worth it.

There's no such thing as a truly original idea anymore, sadly.

I use DreamHost as my hosting service for my site and MediaWiki comes as a free application that I just had to install and it created the subdomain. I'm sure other hosting services have it too.

But if anyone has a website and is willing to lend it out for a Championverse like project and can get MediaWiki up and running, I could use what little I've been figuring out with the coding to help get things started?

I'm not very good at coding at all, and I'm probably formatting very incorrectly, but its functioning well.

As you may or may not know, I like to write. And I like to write about my City of Heroes/Villains characters. A lot. So I've been working on something and I can't give an exact date to when this will be, but just curious to see what you all think.

I'm working on three things:
a] stories of my characters, chronicling both their personal lives and their lives as heroes or villains; these stories will be released in chapters/issues on the forums here
b] a wiki database of all of my characters, complete with full background summaries, images, and plot information; the wiki will be updated as chapters/issues are posted, updated with the information given in the story
c] missions to correspond with the chapters in some fashion to be played out in the mission architect; missions will go inactive as slots fill

Does this interest any of you at all? I'm having fun doing it, just testing the waters before really getting things out.

When Going Rogue comes out, will you be making Praetorian versions of any of your current characters?
Since Praetoria is not a mirror-universe, just a universe with an alternate timeline, not all Praetorians will need to be opposite-faction. From my understanding of the information given so far, most of the timeline changes occur because of Marcus Cole/Statesman/Tyrant's actions, which happen during the 20th century.

For me, all/most of my characters who are bicentennial or older or time travelers or of another planet or are supernatural entities, will have a Praetorian version. My other characters may or may not be included, since with the alternate timeline, it is possible they were never born at all.

Characters of mine who may have Praetorian counterparts include:
Edwin Schmidt: As a time-traveling madman inventor from the 1800s, he could exist in a Praetorian version. He'll probably align with the Resistance, building technologies for them. Or maybe something evil, with the Clockwork.
Extrasensory: Unsure. In Primal Earth, she doesn't remember anything before 2002, but in Praetorian Earth, she may have her full memory. So I'm not sure how she would be. With knowledge of her past memories, she may be evil, or she may be good.
Phantoma Storm: Phantoma Storm will have an alternate version. She's a Hero now, but the Primal Earth version of her will start to go Vigilante or Rogue once GR drops. Since she will return to life each time she dies, and has faced numerous counts of persecution, she's somewhat bitter towards mortal humanity. The Praetorian version may experience the same hardships and seek vengeance and align as a Villain, or she may be bitter towards Emperor Cole instead and seek to take him down by aligning with the Resistance.
Dr. Amy Byrd: Amy isn't even from this planet, so her Praetorian Earth version may not be different at all from her Primal Earth version. Amy arrived to Primal Earth during the first Rikti War, so she may not even make it to Earth at all if the Rikti don't exist in Praetoria. But if she arrives, she'll likely align with the Praetorian Police Department.
Amethystar: Amethystar is a former hero in Primal Earth, but is now dead. Her Praetorian version may still be alive (but she'd be hella old).
Officer Hart: Nick Hart is a cop for the PPD in Primal Earth, so will probably be a cop for Praetorian Police Department in Praetorian Earth. So he'll be a villain.

What characters are YOU going to make Praetorian versions of? And what side will they take?

Is there going to be any type of official announcement about Going Rogue now that HeroCon is over? For us forumites we have a lot of information, but for the non-forum-going players, I don't think there's any source of information/announcement thats publicly available. Besides, it'd be nice to see the official announcement version of the features. >_>

I've been working on this since Going Rogue was first announced, and I've separated it as such:

Heroes
Silent Spy, Edwin Schmidt, Sara Thunderbird, Amethystar, Extrasensory, Officer Hart, Dr. Amy Byrd, Rainbow Girl are all heroes and will stay that way. They all have the best intentions in mind and work together sharing common values, but different approaches.
Vigilante
Cold Feet is a vigilante. She's a runaway bride with ice powers who accidentally froze her fiance at the altar and has been on the run since. Since being on the run, she's done whatever it takes to save herself, but tends to walk towards the side of being a hero mostly.
Phantoma Storm is a hero, but will become vigilante or rogue. She's never really been good or evil. She's hundreds of years old, has died numerous times but always returns, and by seeing all the wars humans cause, she looks down upon the entire world and does whatever is in her best interest.
Ultraviolet Ray will go vigilante and will stop at nothing to avenge his sister's death. Of course, the most he can do is give you a really bad sunburn, or skin cancer. So as long as you wear sunblock, he ain't got nothing on you.
Rogue
Destiny Weaver, my Fortunata, will become a Rogue, and possibly escalate up to a Hero as well. I'll see where the story goes with her.
I may be recreating my Dark/Dark Defender, Sandtomb, as a Dark/Dark Corruptor and have him go Rogue and move up to Hero status, since that is his backstory and it would be a fun one to play out. Just would have to kick the laziness bug to reroll him.
I might also do the same for Angela Star, my Sonic/Sonic Defender. Originally a double-agent/sidekick for my villain, Ana Cruz, she starts to redeem herself.
Villains
Ana Cruz, Tinkerhell, Thorn Dragon, Radevil, Father Luz, and Glasgow are and will always be villains.
ManShark starts as a hero, but ultimately becomes a villain, because he is quickly corrupted (and he has to sacrifice innocent people in order to keep his powers). He may later go back up to become a rogue to redeem himself.
Silver Splinter also starts as a hero, but becomes a villain in rivalry of his sister (Silent Spy) and to get intimately closer to Ana Cruz (who is also intimate with Nick Hart, who is intimate with Silent Spy. lolrelationships.)

And I think that's all of my characters, or at least the ones I choose to write about and are involved in the extremely longwinded plots I have.

I'm 'meh' towards the new Martial Arts animations. I always loved the set because its so flashy and the animations are so awesome. The new set of animations don't mean those standards but they're not horrible looking either or worth complaining about (its not forcing anyone to use the new animations).

The only thing I -MUST HAVE- is information. ASAP.

I'm a little disappointed in Energy Melee. I tried making each power a different two colors (two opposite colors so they stand out and don't blend; red/green, yellow/purple, blue/orange, etc.) so that when I use a chain of attacks, the glowy fists keep changing colors. But it didn't work that way, the fists stay the same color - the color is decided by which power you use to start the attack chain.

Maybe Super Strength or something will be different.

Blue poison looks just like water.

I don't know about you, but I like making the powers look like something else. For example, I've been playing with Dark sets (Dark Blast, Dark Armor, Dark Melee, etc., all work).

You can make it in a light or greyish blue to make it look somewhat water-like, or at least mist-like.

I've been trying to get Energy Blast to look like water but nothing actually looks quite right - if anyone finds something, please let me know!

Also with the Dark sets, you can make them light yellow/orange/tan and get a somewhat sand-like look from them.

Also, bright red and bright neon green electric sets look pretty neat.

The new difficulty setting is nice - yay more customization!

But its really confusing for me. I've tried at least a dozen different settings and almost everything is too difficult unless I keep it at the default. I'm sure I'll learn over time but I had to give up the other night cause I couldn't find a balance and grew frustrated with it.


edit: It might be nice if it gave some option where you could ask the difficulty slider NPCs for 'recommendations' or something that would meet the criteria of the old settings, so you can use the old settings if someone wishes.

I'm 19 and I was feeling /old/ last week when I realized I was almost 20 and OH GOD THATS A QUARTER OF THE WAY TO EIGHTY.

Man, it is /still/ not up. I'm starting to get really aggravated now, I really want to make this character (I had the character, deleted them to reroll them and then the store was down so I lost the slot availability and can't remake them). Hopefully its back up before everyone takes off for the weekend.

Does anyone have any idea when the online store will be back up? I really want to make a character and am kind of tired of waiting.

Has anyone else been having a problem where the online store is down? It says the store is down and for some reason that seems to be preventing me from using my unused character slots that I have. What's going on?
