Chapter I: A New Beginning

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy sat in her apartment, in the dark. She sat there in mourning and hasn’t left the house in days.

She opened up the old newspaper and looked at an article headlining, ‘Villain Kills Synapse and Others’ She read through the article and dropped the paper.

It was about Synapse’s death, her mother’s death and a friend’s death.

The phone rang. Silent Spy slowly picked it up.

“Hello?”, asked Silent Spy.
“Hello.”, said the man on the phone.
“Who is this?”, asked Silent Spy.
“Are you ready to come back to work?”, asked the man.
“No.”, she replied harshly. “Who is this?”
“This is Statesman. Me and Sister Psyche are on our way to talk with you.”, said the man on the phone.

Silent Spy hung up the phone and sat down on her bed, hysterically crying.

There was a knock on the door.

Silent Spy opened the door and Sister Psyche walked in.

“I’m so sorry to hear about your mother and Phantoma Storm.”, said Sister Psyche.
“I’m sorry to hear about Synapse.”, said Silent Spy.
“Yes, me too.”, said Sister Psyche.

Sister Psyche sat down at the table with Silent Spy. Statesman walked into the apartment and seated himself.

“How are you feeling?”, asked Sister Psyche.
“Terrible.”, said Silent Spy.
“Silent Spy, we need to ask you some questions.”, said Statesman.
“Sure.”, said Silent Spy.
“Who was the villain?”, asked Statesman.
“She went by the name of Radevil. I think I knew who she is. I have seen those powers before…”, said Silent Spy.
“What exactly happened?”, asked Sister Psyche.
“I was given a case to find a man named Mei Kyoujin. Me and a friend, Netherflare, we working on the case when I was informed my mother was taken by the Tsoo. We went to find my mother and I was separated from Netherflare. Synapse, my mother and I were held hostages and needed for some form of a ritual. Then, Radevil and a werewolf named Werehound were needed. The next thing I knew, I was having a nightmare and Radevil launched a neuron bomb at Phantoma. I don’t know how Phantoma got there, I haven’t seen her in months.”, said Silent Spy.
“Who is Netherflare?”, asked Sister Psyche.
“Netherflare…”, said Silent Spy, remembering her friend.
“Where is she?”, asked Statesman.
“I…I don’t know.”, said Silent Spy as she broke into tears and ran off.

-~Radevil~-

“You have done well.”, said Lord Recluse.

Radevil was in Lord Recluse’s rebuilt mansion, with some of his trusted assistants.

“Thank you, my lord.”, said Radevil.
“You even managed to kill Synapse.”, said Lord Recluse.
“Yes, but I rather it was Positron than him.”, said Radevil.
“Still seeking revenge?”, asked Ghost Widow.
“Yes.”, said Radevil.
“Would you like me to kill him?”, asked Black Scorpion.
“No, I think that I can do it myself.”, said Radevil.
“I will give you any help you need.”, said Lord Recluse.
“Thank you.”, said Radevil.

Captain Mako barged into the mansion and shut the doors behind him and locked them.

“Master.”, said Captain Mako.
“Yes?”, asked Lord Recluse.
“There has been…an incident.”, said Captain Mako.

Ghost Widow, Captain Mako and Lord Recluse walked towards the door and peered out the door window.

Suddenly, the doors were knocked down as a car flew threw the doors.

Lord Recluse grabbed the car with his spidery arms and chucked it back outside.
Ghost Widow grabbed Radevil by the arm and took her into a secret exit, followed by Captain Mako and Black Scorpion.

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy ran through Paragon City looking for Netherflare or any sign of where she can be. She has already interrogated the Tsoo, Circle of Thorns, Hellions, Skulls, Trolls, Outcasts, Council, the Rikti and even the Banished Pantheon. She then had an idea…Crey Industries.

Silent Spy jumped to the top story of the Crey Industries tower in Steel Canyon and jumped through the window.

Countess Crey sat at her desk, right in front of Silent Spy.

“Hello, Silent Spy.”, said Countess Crey.
“What did you do with Netherflare?”, asked Silent Spy.
“What do you mean?”, asked Countess Crey.
“Did you do something to Netherflare?”, asked Silent Spy.
“No.”, said Countess Crey.
“Are you lying to me again, Countess?”, asked Silent Spy. “Do you remember last time you lied?”
“Yes, I believe you went to jail.”, said Countess Crey with an evil smirk,
“What did you do to Netherflare?”, asked Silent Spy.
“I told you that I didn’t do anything…directly.”, said Countess Crey.
“What did you get someone else to do?”
“Oh, she’s dead now, its no use.”
“You killed her?”
“No, I said I got someone else to kill her.”
“You’re to blame.”

Silent Spy charged at Countess Crey, ready to tackle her.
Suddenly, Countess Crey pulled out a new Crey weapon and shot Silent Spy.
The gun paralyzed Silent Spy and knocked her out of the building.

Silent Spy fell paralyzed for one hundred floors of the building and then was able to control her body. She jumped through a window at the bottom of the building and rolled inside.

She was on the second floor, if she did not jump in, she would have inevitably died.

Silent Spy looked around. She remembered this building, she used to spy here a lot. She opened up one of the secret doors to the Crey Industries lab and was shocked at what she found.

-~Radevil~-

“Keep on moving.”, urged Ghost Widow.

Radevil, Ghost Widow, Black Scorpion and Captain Mako walked through a secret cave exit. Then, there was a minor earthquake. Part of the cave caved in. Black Scorpion, Ghost Widow and Captain Mako were on one side; Radevil was on the other.

“Keep moving, Radevil!”, shouted Ghost Widow.

Radevil continued walking through the cave, suddenly, another part of the cave collapsed.

Slowly, the entire cave began to collapse.

“Help me!”, screamed Radevil.

-~Chief Longbow Jackson~-

Chief Longbow Jackson has worked for the Longbow for many years. As he wandered through the rubble of the once-Tsoo base, he was surprised to find one more survivor.

And then, he died.

Chapter X: The Last One

-~Silent Spy~-

There was cheering.
The Tsoo were all around her…she remembers the Tsoo…

The Circle of Thorns constantly kidnapped Cassandra Thine, Silent Spy’s mother, a fortune teller. However, when Cassandra was pregnant with Silent Spy, the Circle of Thorns handed the baby over to the Tsoo. Silent Spy was separated from her mother and raised by the Tsoo to be one of them. In fact, she was the best fighter of the Tsoo. However, Silent Spy began to notice how evil the Tsoo were. She fought against them and ran away, hoping never to see them again. It was then when she learned about her mother. She rescued her mother and they were reunited, for a while. Her mother was kidnapped over and over again, until finally it stopped.

And now the Tsoo want Silent Spy and Cassandra and several others…

Silent Spy woke up in her floating orb. She watched as hundreds of Tsoo soldiers cheered as two people were dragged across the room. Both of the people were thrown into orbs. The orbs then floated towards Silent Spy, Cassandra and Synapse.
One was a girl, the other was a werewolf.

“Hello.”, said the girl.
“Do I know you?” , asked Silent Spy.
“I know you. My name is Radevil.”, said the girl.
“Yes, I know of you.”, said Silent Spy.
“I am Werehound.”, said the werewolf.
“Why are we here?”, asked Radevil.
“A ritual.”, replied Cassandra.
“Only one person is missing.”, said Synapse.
“The ‘hollow one’.”, said Cassandra.

-~Surgetron~-

As Surgetron sat in his case, remembering the last time he was in a lab like this…

Saadiq Nightfall worked for Crey Industries. However, Saadiq began to realize how evil Crey Industries was. They tried to eliminate him by exploding the lab he was in, but failed to kill him. Instead, he was exposed to radiation and was electrocuted, granting him powers to manipulate electricity with a powerful surge. Thus, he became Surgetron.

“We need to get out of here.”, said Surgetron.
“How do you plan on doing that?”, asked Netherflare, who was being held captive in the case next to him.
“What can you do?”, asked Surgetron.
“Manipulate fire, why?”, asked Netherflare.
“You can melt the case open.”, said Surgetron.
“Why didn’t I think of that?”, said Netherflare as she began to melt away the glass case.

-~Phantoma Storm~-

Phantoma Storm washed ashore and regained consciousness. Her leg was badly bruised. She manipulated the fresh oxygen in the air to restore her wound.

She was on a beach in a mysterious island, lost at sea…again…

Tabitha C. Salamanca was kidnapped by a group of pirates. On the pirate ship, she began to become ‘one with nature’. She quickly learned to manipulate weather and realized that this can help he escape. She summoned a bad storm to destroy the pirate ship. All of the pirates died, but come back to haunt her. They took away her soul and made her delusional. She was able to create illusions. With the phantom ghosts that haunt her and the powers to manipulate illusions and weather, she became Phantoma Storm. A hero.

As Phantoma sat on the beach, she heard a scream coming from the woods.
She ran through the woods until she found something peculiar. It was a Crey Industries lab.

She walked closer to the lab when there was another scream coming from the woods. She ran towards the scream and found the werewolf that chased her earlier be sucked into a portal.

Phantoma quickly made herself appear invisible and jumped into the portal.

-~Cassandra Thine~-

Cassandra sat in her orb.
She knew the ritual was going to happen tonight.

She looked around her, Werehound and Radevil were staring out her.

“Do I know you two?”, she asked.
“No.”, said Werehound. “But I know you.”
“Yes, you know me.”, said Radevil.
“Who are you two?”, asked Cassandra.
“Do you remember the day that Lucy died?”, asked Radevil.

Cassandra stared at Radevil in awe.

“You, you are that Helen girl?”, said Cassandra.
“Helen DiVil?”, asked Silent Spy, remembering that name.
“Helen?”, asked Werehound.
“Yes.”, said Radevil.

Cassandra remembered that day…

After Lucy was killed and the shelter exploded, Cassandra was alone in the disaster area of Terra Volta. She ran towards Independence Port, but was attacked by the Sky Raiders on her way there. She managed to escape them and ran into Independence Port, down Valor Bridge. A car was driving towards and Cassandra screamed. The car swerved out of the way and went off the bridge. Cassandra fell to the ground and woke up the next week in the hospital.

“Do you remember me?”, asked Werehound. “You were running, I was driving.”
“Yes, I remember you.”, whispered Cassandra.

-~Netherflare~-

The glass has almost melted open.

Tammy Rip died. Crey Industries experimented on her in Founder’s Falls when her body was taken away by the Devouring Earth. She returned from the dead and became Netherflare.

The glass melted open and Netherflare fell out. She hit a button in the lab to release Surgetron.

“Thanks.”, said Surgetron.
“No problem.”, said Netherflare.

“Get her!”, said a loud voice from outside of the room.

Countess Crey barged into the room with two guards and a scientist.

The scientist shot Surgetron with some sort of dart-gun.
The dart hit Surgetron in the neck.

“Die, freak!”, said Surgetron.
Surgetron blasted electricity at Netherflare, electrocuting her and knocking her backwards in the wall.

Netherflare felt her heart begin to race up faster and faster as if it were going to explode.
Then, it stopped.

-~Phantoma Storm~-

Phantoma looked around her.
There were six orbs floating in the sky, five of them were filled.

A Tsoo leader approached a podium in the room.

“Find the Hollow One! Then we have them all and the ritual will begin!”, shouted the leader.

Phantoma cowered in fear.

‘I cannot mess this up.’, thought Phantoma.

Phantoma Storm and her team entered the Terra Volta reactor. Her team was pretty well-rounded. There was a man who was invulnerable, a martial artist, a energy blaster, a healer and a Kheldian warshade. The heroes got closer to the reactor and then had to cross a long hallway.

“There are bombs in the hallway.”, said Phantoma. “Stay away from them.”
“Calm down.”, said the Warshade. “We will be fine.”
“You better be.”, said the healer. “I don’t want to be responsible.”

The invulnerable tanker, the martial artist, the blaster, the Warshade, the healer and Phantoma Storm walked down the hallway carefully.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded.

Phantoma Storm and the Warshade ran ahead.
The tank, martial artist, blaster and healer began to run after.

Then a bomb went off. The bomb exploded covered the hallway. All the bombs began to go off, knocking everyone in the hallway around.
The Warshade and Phantoma were able to protect themselves by going invisible. When the explosion cleared, the tanker and martial artist walked out of the hallway. The healer was dead in the hall.
“Crap.”, said Phantoma.
“We need to hurry.”, said the tanker.
“I’m leaving.”, said the blaster and began to walk away.

The tanker, martial artist, Warshade and Phantoma ran towards the reactor core door.
“Don’t open the door.”, said the martial artist.
But it was too late. Phantoma Storm had opened the door. A minute later, the reactor was almost completely destroyed.


“Run!”, yelled the tanker. “I’ll stay here.”
Phantoma, the Warshade and the martial artist ran towards the exit. Phantoma turned back and saw the reactor explode. There was a bright light coming from the door, earthquakes and then darkness.

When the it grew light again, everyone was dead except for Phantoma Storm…and it was all her fault.

‘I cannot mess this up.’, thought Phantoma. ‘Not again.’

She was still invisible and began to look for a way to free the others.

-~Radevil~-

Radevil began to get nervous. She felt as if it were the end of the world, and she had something to do with it.

She tried thinking of a way to escape, but there was no way. Then, an idea came to her.

“I have a plan.”, said Radevil.

Cassandra, Silent Spy, Werehound and Synapse leaned forward, interested.

"We must fight back when they try to perform the ritual..."

-~Surgetron~-

“You have done well, Surgetron.”, said Countess Crey.
“Thank you.”, said Surgetron.
“Unfortunately for you, you have not done good enough.”, said Countess Crey.
“What do you mean?”, asked Surgetron.

Countess Crey pulled out a pistol.

“You’re not needed anymore.”, said Countess Crey.

Countess Crey shot three times at Surgetron. One bullet went in his chest, one in the arm and on in his stomach. Surgetron fell to the ground, bleeding.

-~Phantoma Storm~-

Phantoma Storm looked for anyway to free the hostages.

As she looked, she accidentally bumped into one of the Tsoo.

“There is somebody else here.”, said the Tsoo.
The Tsoo members and the Tsoo leader began searching in the room. There appeared to be thousands of them.

Phantoma then had an idea.

Phantoma Storm summoned a giant illusion that caused everyone in the room to see their worst fears…their nightmares came to life.
Everyone in the room began to hallucinate that they were in their nightmare…

As the Tsoo members screamed in panic, Phantoma Storm was able to find a switch that released the hostages from their orbs.

Then, Phantoma’s nightmare began.

-~Werehound~-

Werehound saw his worst nightmare.
Werehound fell under Phantoma’s illusionary spell.
The Tsoo members changed their forms and became werewolves.

Werehound tried to fight off the werewolves.

He threw them, punched them, bit them and even ripped a piece out of the ground and chucked it, but it was no use. There were too many werewolves…

~-Cassandra Thine~-

Cassandra saw her worst nightmare.
Cassandra fell out of the orb and looked around her.
The Circle of Thorns suddenly surrounded the room.

The Circle of Thorns began to creep towards her.

“Kill Cassandra.”, said one of the mages.
“No!”, yelled Cassandra.

Cassandra shot a psionic blast of energy at the mage, sending it flying across the room. She then lifted another one off the ground and swung its body around, using it is a shield and weapon.

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy saw her worst nightmare.

The hundreds of Tsoo members began to get stronger and charge at her.
Across the room, she saw Haolk. Haolk grew into a giant monster. He jumped towards her and picked her up. Haolk then threw Silent Spy.

She felt herself get tossed through the air and into the wall. Silent Spy blacked out.

-~Radevil~-

Radevil saw her worst nightmare.

There were explosions and radiation was everywhere. Then, Radevil saw a face.
It was Ghost Widow.

“Radevil.”, said Ghost Widow.
“Yes, my master?”, asked Radevil.
“Kill the enemy. Don’t forget. Kill the enemy.”, said Ghost Widow.
“Who is the enemy?”, asked Radevil.
“Her.”, said Ghost Widow.

Phantoma Storm emerged from the crowd.

“Kill her.”, said Ghost Widow.

-~Cassandra Thine~-

Cassandra fell to the floor weak. She had a vision…

There was chaos. Her daughter, Silent Spy, was there.
“No!”, yelled Silent Spy.
“In my honor.”, said a distant voice.
It grew dark.
Then there was an explosion.
“Help!”, cried a voice.
“No!”, cried another voice.
“Completed!”, said a third.

She couldn’t make out the vision…
Cassandra then blinked. The nightmare had ended. The Circle of Thorns was gone, but the Tsoo were still there. She was the only one who was no longer affected by Phantoma’s spell.

-~Phantoma Storm~-

Phantoma Storm saw her worst nightmare.

The ghosts of her memories were everywhere.
Suddenly, a giant ghost ship approached her. The cannon fired and a cannonball of ghosts flew at her.

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy regained consciousness and looked around her. She was no longer hallucinating. She hoped she was…

“No!”, yelled Silent Spy.

-~Radevil~-

Radevil walked towards Phantoma as she launched a giant neuron bomb at Phantoma Storm.

“In my honor.”, said Ghost Widow with a smirk.

As the bomb was launched, it grew dark.

“Help!”, yelled Phantoma Storm.

“No!”, repeated Silent Spy across the room.

The bomb set off. There was a huge, massive explosion.

Radevil was sent flying backwards and across the room. When she got up, everyone was unconscious or dead on the floor.

“Completed!”, said Radevil as she looked up at Ghost Widow.
“Good, she is dead now.”, said Ghost Widow. “Let me take you back.”

Radevil suddenly teleported away.

ONE DAY LATER

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy woke up in a bed. She was in the hospital.
Silent Spy sat up as a doctor walked towards her.

“What happened?”, asked Silent Spy.
“There was an explosion.”, said the doctor.
“Did anyone else survive?”, asked Silent Spy.
“No.”, said the doctor. “You were the only survivor.”

Silent Spy stared at the doctor in shock and began to cry.

End of Book I

Chapter X is still being written. It will be a long one. In the meantime, read Chapter IX again...or something.

Chapter IX: Survival

-~Phantoma Storm~-

“Is anyone in here?”, yelled Phantoma Storm.

The cruise ship was vertical and halfway filled with water.

Phantoma Storm looked for any survivors.

“Hello?”, yelled Phantoma.

A child’s body floated up to the surface.

“Oh, no!”, she shouted as she flew down the child.

She picked him out of the water. The boy began to move.

“You’re alive.”, said Phantoma.
“Where’s my mommy?”, cried the boy.

Phantoma quickly took the boy off the boat.

She began looking around on the rafts for anyone to recognize the boy.

Then there was a voice.

“My boy!”, yelled the mother.

Phantoma Storm rushed over to the mother and gave her the child.

She then flew back inside the cruise ship, looking for any other survivors.

-~Werehound~-

Werehound coughed up water as he crawled up the sand beach.
He had no idea where he was, he is unfamiliar with most of the Rogue Isles.

A young woman drifted to the shore.

It was a girl who appeared to be on the cruise ship, she was unconscious.

Werehound took her to the dry beach and began to perform CPR.

Of course, when she regained consciousness, the girl was freaked out to see that her hero was a werewolf.

The girl ran screaming, into the woods on the island.

Werehound then remembered how he got here…the other screaming woman.

His name was James Dean. He was a nuclear physicist and was heading to Terra Volta after there was a reported accident. While driving down Valor Bridge, a woman was running down the road, screaming. She was running straight towards him. James tried to drive out of the way, but swerved off the road, and off the bridge.

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy was floating in an orb.

There were six orbs and three of them had people in it, including her.

She was now able to get a close look at the other man in the orb. It was Synapse!

“Synapse?”, asked Silent Spy.
“I’m ashamed to say that it is me.”, said Synapse.
“Well, its good that you’re here. The Freedom Phalanx will come.”, said Silent Spy.
“No, they won’t. They will barely notice that I’m gone.”, said Synapse. “They think that I went out for the night. They have no idea where I am.”

Silent Spy looked at Cassandra, her mother.

“What’s going on here?”, asked Silent Spy.
“It’s a ritual.”, said Cassandra. “They want to use us as some sort of a sacrifice.”
“So, how are we going to escape?”, asked Silent Spy.
“We’re not. I had a vision of this ritual taking place.”, said Cassandra.

Silent Spy sighed.

‘Where is Netherflare?’, she thought.

-~Netherflare~-

‘Where is Silent Spy?’, thought Netherflare.

Netherflare was in a glass case that hung from the ceiling in a bunker. Next to her was another man in a case, also a hero.

“Hello.”, said Netherflare.
“Hi.”, said the hero.
“What is your name?”, asked Netherflare.
“My name is Surgetron.”, said the hero.
“Hello, I’m Netherflare.”, she replied.

Surgetron looked depressed and deep in thought, so Netherflare decided not to bother him. Instead, she tried to look for a way out.

Netherflare began to bang on the glass, but it didn’t crack.

“There is no way out.”, said Surgetron.

-~Radevil~-

Radevil swam to the surface.

There was panic everywhere as the cruise ship was sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Radevil tried to fly out of the water, but she didn’t have enough energy. Even if she has committed herself to evil, she knew it wasn’t right to let the people on the cruise ship die.

But she just didn’t have enough energy…at all.

Radevil passed out and woke up on a sandy beach.

-~Werehound~-

Werehound saw Radevil drift to the beach…drifting…

James Dean washed ashore at Mercy Island. He was confused, unaware of anything, and vulnerable to anything. A woman found him and took care of him. She told him she was a villain by the name of Figi. She was once a hero, but then changed her ways. She influenced James to do the same, but he had no powers…yet.

Werehound picked up Radevil and carried her off into the woods.

“Where are you taking me?”, asked Radevil. “What do you want with me?”

Werehound dropped Radevil on the ground.

“You want to know?”, asked Werehound angrily. “I was bit by a werewolf when I was alone. It’s not safe in the Rogue Isles. We need to be together.”

“So why did you tie me up earlier?”, asked Radevil.
“To make sure you stayed.”, said Werehound.

-~Phantoma Storm~-

The ship sunk.

Phantoma was trapped inside, looking for anyone else.
There is nobody else.

Phantoma tried to escape the cruise ship.

She crawled out of the window and began to swim up to the surface. However, a shark swam towards her.

She swam faster as the shark bit her leg.

Phantoma bled until she passed out.

-~Netherflare~-

Netherflare sat in the case. It feels like she has been there for days.

A man entered the room.

“Who are you?”, asked Netherflare.
The man did not respond.
“What do you want with me?”, asked Netherflare.
“Nothing.”, said the man.
“Then let me go.”, demanded Netherflare.
“Fine.”, said the man.
“Really?”, asked Netherflare, surprised.
“Yes.”, said the man.

Suddenly, the glass case began to rise higher towards the ceiling. Part of the ceiling opened up and the glass case was sucked in. The glass case shot up into the air, through a vent. The case launched out of the roof a building.

“Help!”, yelled Netherflare as she was shot into the sky, stuck in the glass case.
The case began to fall and Netherflare watched as she fell down towards the ground. The case fell back into the vent and right back to where she started

“Well, was that fun? I said I’d let you go.”, said the man. The man then left the room.

“The same thing happened to me.”, said Surgetron.
“That was weird.”, said Netherflare.
“Did you get a look at what is outside?”, asked Surgetron.
“No.”
“Me neither.”, said Surgetron.

-~Werehound~-

Radevil and Werehound searched through the woods.
There was rustling in the bushes.

“Hello?”, said Radevil.

Werehound and Radevil became ready to attack. Suddenly a large portal opened.

“What the hell?”, said Radevil as she approached the portal.

An arm popped out of the portal and pulled Radevil in.

“Help!”, yelled Radevil as she was sucked in.

“No!”, yelled Werehound.

He went to help her, but knew whatever was in there is dangerous.

Suddenly, an arrow flung out of the portal and shot him in the neck. He fell to the floor, beginning to lose consciousness. A Sorcerer walked out of the portal and pulled Werehound in.

I said too much.

I teamed with Figi [Netherflare] on Radevil.

She was doing a Strike Force for most of the day [eighteen hours] and couldn't finish...I tried to help buy delivering inspirations.

After, we teamed and gained bubs (no levels, but still lots of fun).

Thank you for encouraging me to play Radevil again!

The next chapter, Chapter XI, has already been written, but I won't post it just yet.

The last chapter of Book I, is Chapter X. The story will then move on to Book II.
