This. Footstomp hits 2x as many dudes and has a larger radius to make the most of the proc. These factors also play into FS being a better PBAoE attack in general and thus better to put the Geddon set in.

In my sig, along with guides for all the other Corr secondaries

A defender who neglects their secondary is a bad defender.
Look, I give Tankers and Defenders a lot of stick for having low damage. But the fact is, if you're not using both your primary and secondary, you're not contributing to your team as much as you could or should. The argument that a given set (like kin or emp) is busy so you have little to no time to blast doesn't hold water IMO. That just means you're unwilling or unable to properly prioritize your powers.
Kinning, Emping and Therming are all very busy. That doesn't mean you shouldn't blast, I just means that you should ensure the blasts you use are the ones that count. -
Yeah the endurance thing is a really good point. Therming itself can be pretty end heavy with maintaining all the buffs on a full team.

Well, Fire goes great with everything. I personally don't think its a good pairing for Thermal because there's no synergy.
I think the best primaries for Thermal are Sonic and Rad.
Edit: to elaborate, Thermal is a really busy set. You want to pair it with something you can pare down to the core powers and still do justice to the set. For Rad, that's CB and Irradiate. For Sonic, that's Shriek and Scream.
Fast activating, solid powers. But Silas, Fireball and Blaze are also fast activating and awesome powers!
True. And in that sense it works, but I personally feel you can't truly do Fire or Thermal justice if you pair them together. Thermal is really busy but much less offensive than something like Kin, which goes great with Fire. Thermal lacks a way to make the most out of RoF, which is one of the best powers in Fire.
Cold has Sleet and Heatloss for massive slows and -res, Dark has Tar Patch for the same thing and Kin can make RoF do so much ******* damage that it's not a big deal stuff will scatter some.
Plus Fire played well draws a helluva lot of aggro, something you don't want on a Thermal since you're often the squishiest person on a team -
Cool idea for a thread, Nator.
I love this cover of Hey Ya by Obadiah Parker. It's a really cool take on the song and hearing it like that makes you realise the lyrics aren't what they appear to be

Quote:Actually, given the abundance of +defense buffs and the scarcity of +res buffs combined with the high Brute resist caps, oranges do make a big difference for Brutes on the RSF.Oranges are hardly what makes the difference with wipes when it comes to playing a Brute. Build, Base resist/def, IO sets, and skill play much greater role then inspirations. With the task in question being the RSF, doubtful a couple of oranges alone will be the savior.

Haha, what the christ I didn't even know it cost that much. That's ******* awful.

Thanks
It's pretty bad though, I've been meaning to go back over all the guides and update them, clean them up and flesh them out a little more.
The intention to do so is as far as I've gotten so far
First priority is the melee teaming guide though, so I can really put the final nail in the lolmelee coffin, heh. -
Glad you found the guide helpful
For my build though, most (if not all) of the credit should be given to Kahlan. He helped me with my build (which is a slight rework of his build, heh).
I can't look at it indepth atm (at work, boo hiss) but will take a proper look when I get home. Looks very solid.
The Aid Self thing I had been contemplating myself for i19. There isn't really anything else I'd want and would be decent with minimal slotting. It's basically a free respite, especially nice given how easily you can fire it with the defense Forts have.
I dunno, I'll have to do some playing with Mids. Psi Nado with the FFB is definitely a good idea, I'll have to give it serious thought.
I refuse to change my stance on Psy Scream though -
Plus DP is slow as hell and has redraw which is a hassle with an intense and fast-paced set like Kin.
-
Can anyone post some more screenshots of all this stuff? Or is there another thread somewhere with more screenshots?
Loving what I've seen so far, but that said I'd also vote to ditch the wrenches -

Quote:Aside from just working on other stuff, I'd reckon the biggest delay on this is the Patron powers and the Speed pool. Not currently, but has been highly suggested on numerous occasions both on the forums and at various hosted functions.
Almost all the other power pools don't have much, if anything, in the way of SFX to customize and almost all the APP powers have already cusomizable versions in normal powersets.
I'd be happy with just Superspeed and Hasten getting customizable. Just kick that Live and I'll wait for the APP/PPP stuff -
Cocky is what people are who don't have much skill or intellect and as such feel the need to grossly inflate what they do have in order to compensate.

Quote:This is true. It's a stupidly good power. Instantly neuter almost entire spawns with a fast recharging, large AoE with a hefty debuff attached?People talk about ROF/Tar Patch and how good it is. But /Dark is just such an incredible set that special mention must go to practically half the powers
Fearsome Stare has to be one of the very best powers in the whole game.
Don't mind if I do!
