All of your points are made off of a false assumption that the Devs are against farming, and your wrong, they are against exploiting, and all of the things you have pointed out about the changes the Devs made are to stop exploits, not farming, but farming exploits.

Stop thinking that farming = exploit because your wrong.
Think about this, if the Devs were truly against farming, then they would have put a hard stop to it by now. Ok?

    Get over it

    [/ QUOTE ]

The devs recently gave that buff to Infernal's Demons/Behemoths, and changed the Family's salvage drops to Tech. Both of those seem like movements AGAINST farming.
  2. QR

    I'm neutral to farming. Entirely.

We JUST got something that makes potential farmers able to do what they do in the convenience of Mission Architect, and so forth. Can't you just be happy with the advancements in place? At least for an issue or two?

Heh. Reminds me of the line from Friends, "Can open, worms everywhere!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Sounds about right.

Mainly because I suspect that there are more things possible in-game but which haven't been implemented for fear of unbalancing the game. Or they can implement a power but it wouldn't be a strong enough reason to build an entire powerset around it.

For example, while a wrecking ball would be awesome, it really just amounts to a customization with new animation. (Of course, this would be true of most melee-type weapons, like nunchuks, frying pans, giant rolling pins, etc.) So far the Devs have tried to avoid that sort of PC powerset, but it might not be out of place for unique NPCs.

Plus giving NPCs unique abilities keeps new ideas flowing for opponents and allies. It keeps things exciting and fresh, and a new experience each time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're forgetting that these NPCs have character-like models.

Why do you think you don't see Sorcerers with Martial Arts? It's because their little skirt-thing doesn't support it. Things like Nun-Chucks, a 'Wrecking Ball', and so forth seem ripe with clipping issues depending on how you make the character.

As for Shape-shifting, and so forth... Again! They can't give these powers to PLAYERS. They sure as hell aren't about to give them to NPCs.

I haven't gotten my magical booster set yet, but I love the videos of the costume change emotes on the NC Store page. Well done, Jay, or whoever was in charge of those!

My suggestion/request is that we get at least one more costume change emote when the science (or maybe mutant) booster pack comes out. Something like a shapeshifting costume change emote, or an emote where you pull out a little device to change your costume (like the image generator Beast and Nightcrawler used to use in the X-Men), or there is a Star Trek Transporter-esque effect to your change. I know that second one would be more tech than science, but the tech ship has sailed with the cyborg pack.

I'd just like something to change costumes on a character that doesn't use magic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

/signed only if we can get a Magic-themed emote with fire as well.

I like both ideas (unlockable editable [within reason] enemy models, and enemy power sets).

I'd love to get Radiation Melee on a melee mob.

EDIT: And, for that matter, 'power pools' for custom enemies. :/ Why should PPD and the like be the only ones that get Leadership?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya' know, I always wondered this. I'm just thinking "Why can't I give 'em Medicine?!"

I could see there being two options kinda like so:

    - Choose Model from Selection
    -- Hellions
    --Skulls
    --- Gravedigger
    --- Death Head
    --- Bone Daddy
    -- Circle of Thorns
    - Create Custom Model
    -- (Costume Creator)

And then for the powersets, just take that exact same sort of graph...

    - Choose Powers from Selection
    -- Hellions
    --Skulls
    --- Gravedigger Chopper
    --- Gravedigger Slammer
    --- Gravedigger Brawler
    --- Etc...
    -- Circle of Thorns
    - Create Custom Powers
    -- (Powers Screen)

"Supply and demand" heard of it?

    Business 101.

I'm not trying to get into a drawn out argument here (or an argument period), but as far as what the OP is suggesting, I'm not EXACTLY, for it. in so far as being able to adjust a toon's size within established perameters of the current size slider (4' - 8') should not cause the "end of all things". and that is what I mean... I was not as clear before so that's my bad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You're joking me, right?

Growth is NOT on the top of the list for things we want, and the effort trying to mandate how we can grow, where we can grow, clipping issues, and what different periods of 'growth' mean are all things that the developers would need to factor in. And on top of that, the powerset lists are already saturated with Defense sets.

The costs would far outweigh the benefits. It was only recently that Shields became a different case entirely.
  8. If they can't give most of these to players, why do you think they can give them to MA characters?

If you let the people get a hold of the ability to give enemies NO powers, then you create no-risk rewards

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not that they haven't already since it's quite easy to create enemies that have no ranged attacks. Just give 2 melee sets to a custom critter (avoiding SS and others that have ranged attacks automatically) and get flight (whether via the power or a flight pack). Virtually no risk (they'll try to jump at you and can kill you that way, but that's more player error).

    [/ QUOTE ]

But that doesn't apply to everyone. Hell, Demons aren't a risk to someone with Fiery Aura, are they? But they're still a risk to SOME people. For MA? It's Scrappers, or those without ranged attacks that are forced to get into melee range to get the job done. I don't complain, there have been worse outcomes.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
You can also set a critter as non-combat within the mission editor.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

If you let the people get a hold of the ability to give enemies NO powers, then you create no-risk rewards, which would reward people for monotony... You know, moreso than what they might feel with running Farming over and over.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I'm hoping this will eventually get put into the game as well as the ability to give custom models default power sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Excellent call!
  12. My suggestion is to unlock default character models that can be used in the Critter Creator.

For example... You unlock 'Circle of Thorns Mages Base Models' for 75 Architect tickets. This will allow you to use the models of the Circle of Thorns. They will not be editable beyond their colors, as an addition to this.

I realize that this creates some complications, like what happens when you give Tsoo Sorcerers, or Madness Mages some Martial Arts moves, but I DO think that this suggestion would be a great one.

What does the community think? Ability to be given base models as an alternative to a completely custom costume?
  13. [ QUOTE ]
You know, I thought of something. It would make sense if this was a feature you had to purchase with AE tickets to use.

Maps can be randomized, hence the amount of floors you'll get can differ.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Similar to adding an Escort you get the field for "Mission Failure". If you have Random Maps selected it would not be available.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I still fail to see why this would benefit us at all. In fact, the idea sounds annoying as hell.
  17. Maps can be randomized, hence the amount of floors you'll get can differ.
  18. This isn't a problem, it's a fact of life.

Report the mission for content, disable broadcast chat, play in a quieter zone, and live with the fact that not everyone plays like you do.
  19. I would totally make a Male Blaster...

    Hello Kitty: Urban Assault.
  20. My only concern is that what happens if someone labels every enemy as 'one per spawn', and takes a big team out?

What if there's only that one enemy with 'one per spawn', and takes an 8-man team out on the field? Will they just encounter mobs of 1?
  21. [ QUOTE ]
They can even re-use that glowy animation that plays when folks click on the datastream.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was what I was thinking, either that, or the Mist effect from Storm Summoning, where it covers the character in clouds momentarily... Tinted green/yellow, of course.
  22. There's a rather 'un-smooth' moment when the Contact Hologram turns into whomever you've selected to be your contact... It just instantly changes.

Can we get a small animation/effect that will play while it changes? Similar to how it already acts, only the active person will see it at the time it needs. Just something that will hide the Contact Hologram and allow the new contact to take it's place, so it gives a smoother feel, rather than something that just kinda... Changes.

I thought this was going to have something to do with the band, Disturbed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I went to that concert. Best night ever...

Anyhow, the powerset is sort of already taken via the Sonic Blast/Resonance powers. Granted, they're very different from wielding a guitar, or something, but I could already assume that this would create incredible, horrendous clipping issues.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
And here I thought you were going to make a suggestion to patch the players...

/signed, absolutely. Yes, it's come up before. Yes, I'm completely deaf in one ear, in fact. Even without THAT consideration, I play with headphones - and am not always wearing them (such as when I have to wait for a phone call or some such.) This would help even those with full hearing when they can't have the sound up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow. I did not know this.
