I think after the 2nd time you'd be petitioned for griefing.

    Funny as hell, though. :P

    Hamidon Is Real!

    The 'Cartwheel Galaxy':

"The Cartwheel Galaxy is a lenticular galaxy about 500 million light-years away in the constellation Sculptor. It is about 150,000 light-years across. The galaxy was discovered by Fritz Zwicky in 1941 and was once a normal spiral galaxy like the Milky Way before it underwent a head-on collision with a smaller companion approximately 200 million years ago.

This image combines data from four different observatories: the Chandra X-ray Observatory (purple); the Galaxy Evolution Explorer satellite (ultraviolet/blue); the Hubble Space Telescope (visible/green); and the Spitzer Space Telescope (infrared/red).

Now, I know, Hamidon isn't a galazy, but who's to know? Maybe it just STARTED as a giant amoeba, and grew into something so massive? Rest assured, folks... The Hamidon is out there in space, possibly hitting it up with Rularuu and Shiva.
  3. Y'know what? I feel your pain!

I DESPISE playing Tankers... They take forever to level and practically require a team if you don't want to spend an hour on a single mission... At least on the lower levels.

A nice DB/WP Tanker that I thought fit a nice concept. As I grew to about level 20, they released Dark Armor/Dark Melee for Tanks. Dark Armor fit the concept SO much better! What did I do?

I deleted him. I made a new one.

Get over it, guys. If you can't bear to go through the incredible 20 levels all over again, then you have simply chosen a poor powerset combination for your playstyle. And if you're worried about your character having existed for a long time? Well, that's just too bad. Either keep the character, or delete him and start again.

I'm nor sure if I should be impressed or concerned that my first thought upon seeing an erotic picture was "Wait! I recognise those wings! Could it be?!?"

    I'm a lucky SOB... I work with 2 players.

I was hanging around around the Deli department (I work in a grocery store... Yeah. :P) and as I'm getting my meal I hear the assistant deli manager and one of the meat slicers says "So, I tried soloing the Reichsman. Baaaad idea."

This immediately caught me. "... What AT?" Immediately I have both pairs of eyes on me. "What server?"
    "G-G-Guardian?"
"GAH!" Turns out they play on Freedom. I rolled up a Defender and got onto their team. Turns out? There are 11 people in the district I work in that play, and we got together for a team. After they played enough tricks to bring me close to the debt cap (LOLDEBT) they told me I was 'in'. It was the hazing, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

    Here's to you, guys.

    What If...

That's a tall glass to think about. Oh dear. I'll break it down simply:

    1. We'd have Recluseman.
    2. We'd have one more Weaver.
    3. Hero 1 would develop a God complex and be a total dick.
    4. We'd be by fighting Rikticore, Riktidel, Riksman, Rikter Psyche, and maybe Riknapse.
    5. Synapse would be a happy man.
    6. They'd hook up with CoT and produce the ugliest babies known to mankind.
    7. Paragon skies would be cloudy.
  8. Sigium

    Underwater?

I'm gonna be the only one to oppose this: /no

I'm galeophobic, and afraid of sharks, as I'm a huge wuss... Yeah, even in CoH. I know that the FIRST boss enemy is gonna be a big ol' Great White.

Yeah, it would be nice for some people, but I've got other things on my list of preferred.
  9. LOLPROLIFERATION.

Does anyone remember when CoH first made it through? The original powersets? I believe, with the exception of Defender Primaries/Controller Secondaries, and a few Blaster Primaries/Defender Secondaries, everything was completely unique. Tanks had 4 primaries, Scrappers were the only ones to have a Broadsword, or a Katana, or Dark Melee. The good ol' days... Right?

No, no, I kid too much. Shame on me for being evil, and whatnot.

Moar proliferation, even if the devs will never ever ever ever make a new Controller set.

You've already made it very clear in another thread you'd posted that the game needs a '100% Revamp'. My suggestion? Go play another MMO. Simple as that.

You could use Tickets to buy Influence, Merits, Vanguard Merits
You couls use Vanguard Merits to buy Influence, Merits, Tickets

This way the player has a nice level of freedom, but it is important to have reasonable exchange rates between the currencies. I am not sure what exchange rates should be, but here is a swag at it...

    1 Merit = 720,000 Influence .... A Numina Regen/Recov sales for 180M cost 250 merits
1 Merit = 1 Ticket .... A Merit random roll is about the same for ticket roll
    1 Merit = ? Vanguard Merits .... I can't think of a way to associate them

Actually another thing to check in game (making a list for later in your thread, sorry).

Take a level 50, and a lowbie (say sub-5) on 2 accounts. Start Leventera's arc in flashback from a SG base. See if the badge is awarded to the lowbie.
That's right! Silly me, I forgot you needed that damn badge.

Even so, Cat, what's 35 levels worth of merits? It seems to me like it wouldn't be too incredibly horrible if we were allowed to trade in our surplus of something (if we chose to keep a surplus) for something we don't have enough of.

One issue I can see (not insurmountable) is that Vanguard merits are right now 35 and higher.

To keep that if desired, may require some new tech/programming.

Even if you created a autmatic recipe in the invention table that was a level 35 or higher, that doesn't gate anything right now. A level 1 can happily craft (but not use) a level 50 recipe.

I haven't tried this (and have no game access right now), can a lowbie directly purchase a high level recipe from merit vendors ? (I recall what is avaiable being level gated, but haven't really bought a lot with lowbies)

That may be a way to the level gating mechanism. Have a 'recipe' sold by the merit vendors for say 10 merits, that uses no salvage, and just a little inf for the crafting, an gives 50 Vanguard merits.
Sir, I do believe the level requirements have been taken off, have they not? Simply Super-sidekick yourself to a higher level and get yourself up on deck, and you're fighting amongst Vanguard. During DoubleXP weekend I made it in when I was a mere level 33.

Something to send your hair/cape/auras to wave/flicker would be a nice addition. (instead of it just being when you're moving)

From what I've been told however, with the release of Going Rogue, Heroes will be "upgraded" to the requirements of Villains. (Heroes currently has half the requirements of Villains) Nothing has been said for certain though, but I don't even see much more than that coming into the picture.

The engine for CoX is actually pretty old, much older and harder to work with than say the Champions Online engine(as far as I'm told anyways) So that means that there are certain built in limitations, so for example the highly coveted "power customization" was something that was asked for for years. It wasn't possible until they created a work around for it(allegedly anyways) So adding something that we might think of as simple/not that hard like flowing hair might actually be a b*$@h and a half to do.

Then there's also what has priority to consider. Do you imagine the general game populous would prefer new powersets, or flowing hair? or new zones/TFs, or flowing hair? The devs take into account what they want to see happen, what we want to see the most, and what can be done in a reasonable amount of time and find a balance between the 3. That doesn't mean that flowing hair won't ever happen, just it'll likely be a while depending on where it falls on the devs list of "things to do".
This is all well and nice, but where do you get your information from, if I may ask? Link to the devpost if you don't mind?
  17. A casual player is someone who says 'BRB Bio' and actually goes to the bathroom/goes to get coffee/goes to water his plants, rather than spending his 'BRB' with tabbed browsing.
  18. Let's just say... Let's just say you're trying to get your Vanguard Costume piece, or a nice, shiney HVAS, or just the new Costume-Changing emote. You've got enough recipes for being your level, you just want your shinies.

I'd like to propose a simple 'trades vendor' who will give you 5 Vanguard Merits for every Reward Merit you turn in. 20 merits -> 100 VMerits.

This way, if you're just not having fun slaying Rikti, you can simply trade some excess merits in that you're not using for a recipe drop in. This trade works one way, and you cannot trade Vanguard Merits in for Reward Merits.

I'd like to think it's a simple idea, but perhaps the community will tell me otherwise.
  19. As everyone's already stated; more, more, more.

I'm aware that there's a few people out there currently running the bare minimum of requirements and can barely see the jagged polygons of their already-blocky characters and refuse to update a PC model that's been outdated for years. I'm aware of these people and I sympathize with them to an extent.

I'm also aware that in terms of being high-and-mighty, Paragon Studios seems more along the lines of 'Mom and Pop' rather than McDonald's. They're friendly to the community and would like to avoid alienating any players to provide a more enjoyable experience to everyone! I'm aware of all of these factors when it comes to a graphical update.

That being said? I would be happy with a complete overhaul of everything we've got graphics-wise. Our costume creator looks... Decent at best, what with it's mittens and mutant feet. We need a massive change to compliment such a paramount expansion, which will be the first in several years, and a tremendous opportunity for Paragon to increase it's subscriber base, and to appeal to a wider audience; those who are attracted to the shiney bits and pieces.

Work on the polygons; give them a major overhaul to smooth them out. Add more options, like adding hair to hoods, hats, etc. Freshen and liven things up, but don't overload us with OMGBLOOMEFFECTS. Give us some more realism in our proportions and make the creator look like something human. Some more idling poses, and some smoother animations (although most are relatively smooth as it is).

I know, I know, people want to stone me for this; it's not fair that they should have to update their PC after all this time playing and being a loyal customer only to find that their rig isn't up to specs, but such is life. Paragon needs to think about a larger consumer market, and the market is gaining; the market is growing more and more advanced, and if it's interests don't keep up with it, then the interests won't remain interesting for long.

I'd be up for it. $1 for a nice, shiney costume code? Sure.

And while we're at it, can we utilize some of those pieces for costume parts? >.>
  21. I'd love to see Power Customization for Power Pools.

I could imagine one animation for teleport would be something more like Nightcrawler, where he disappears into 'smoke' kinda stuff, rather than a flash of light.

Can we all agree that this would be nice?

Oh! And springy shoes for SuperJump! Big ol' Spring Boots!
