  1. The Atomic Rockets web site has a whole page dedicated to futuristic sidearms. A few of my favorites:

    Gyrojet:

    Cosmo-Dragoon:

    Calico M950 9mm:

un-named pistol with lots of "bling":

Obviously, if you go into a Chinese tea shop carrying one of those swords, the shopkeeper will give you a discount (unless he has a larger sword stashed behind the counter).
  3. One of the devs at the HeroCon banquet told me that this might be an animation bug, so...

Basically, custom mobs in Mission Architect almost never fly, and instead usually run along the ground. According to this dev (Synapse?), mobs with flight power in MA missions are always technically "flying" according to the game engine, but display the run animation if they are close to a floor. If that is the case, then can the animation be fixed in MA so that "flying" critters always use the flight animation? My winged villain group just doesn't look right running around like a bunch of ostriches...

Guess I'll have to change my hostage to non-combat for now. She didn't have a lot of combat power (my plot had her badly drained by the bad guys), but it made more sense for her to have some combat ability than none.
  7. There are lots of surprise ambiance noise sources throughout the game. Try listening outside the bowling alley in Atlas sometime, or the red phone booth in the Pocket D.
  8. I'm tempted to make an AE story arc out of Steelclaw's script. However, since I'm still working an arc for one of my SGs, I should probably finish that first.
  9. I've found a few maps where front/middle/back works for mobs, but not objects, or vice versa. In the mission I'm working on now, "back" works for floor objects, but wall objects must be set to "middle" in order for them to spawn in the "back", red-marked area of the map.

I can set the objects in the desired locations using this modified nomenclature, but this also means that some future patch will fix the bug, and "break" my mission. I've only got a few missions to retest after each patch, but it must be a royal pain in the butt for people that many published arcs.

Considering that this forum move was supposedly long-planned, I am kind of surprised and disappointed that such a useful feature was not tested before turning off the old message boards.
  11. Hmm, I'm pretty sure what I saw was a texture or other floor option, rather than a slow fields. I have seen slow fields, and they don't look like the "water" I saw in some bases.
  12. Any plans to get the Dev and Community Digests working again? They were the most useful parts of the forums for me - if they're going away, I have much less reason to visit these forums...
  13. I've sometimes seen sections of floors in base pics that look like water. I think I stumbled on how to do it once in my base a few months ago, but I can't seem to find the combination to recreate it. Can anyone tell me how to create a "water" floor in a section of my base?

    Here are two videos -

    Earth armor colors (7 megs)

    And Spines customization (3 megs)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very nice, I'm loving the spines customizations, though I'm a little disappointed that you're limited to earth tones for earth.

Now, what about those new MA/SS animations???

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't think it's limited to just earth tones. I think what the person was commenting about was a set of earth tones in one part of the color picker. I have trouble finding more than one or two realistic earthtones in the standrd picker, so one customized to provide additional earth tones would be nice (if I am interpreting that video correctly).

    Reinvent the early game experience?

    Sounds good to me.

If they're serious about doing this I will kiss Positron on the mouth (no tongue).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Based on your comment, I predict that Positron in Steel Canyon will soon put his helmet back on.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Well, considering the devs pretty much said making the Epic Archetypes unlockable only when getting a toon to 50 was a mistake...

    [/ QUOTE ]
As I recall, they devs have stated that only the first set of Epic ATs will have this requirement. Any future ATs will be unlocked by other, yet to be specified, means.

Not yet, but assuming that the meta-data hidden in the picture file is correct, I will soon!

    Active Build

    [ QUOTE ]
    ohhh I seeee...
Thanks for the info. Looks kind of useless though, unless like you said - you were into PvP:

    * # Each build always has the same amount of earned experience, but alternate builds will not train up alongside the active build. # When choosing an alternate build for the first time, the character will start at Security/Threat Level 1 and will have to be trained up, level by level.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm planning on using the two builds for solo-optimized and team-friendly builds. Since the two builds always have the same amount of experience, it'll be a lot than trying to level up a second character from scratch.

The picture I saw wasn't any sort of rock formation, but a MASSIVE decorated throne.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ahh, then what I saw [u]wasn't[u] what you are talking about.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I've seen a screenshot of Rularuu's throne... I thought that was from an instanced mission? So it's actually somewhere in the 4 normal Shadow Shard zones?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just saw what I think was the throne. Think it's in the first zone, near a base.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, it's still there. Also, it's NOT behind a 'door' like an instanced mission/shop. It's more so a secret passage... I was able to just find it again just now after only a minute of looking (mostly the actual travel time).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Grr... Now I'm going to be spending days going back and forth through those tunnels. I swear I've everywhere down there twice, even the pipe room with the Arachnos soldiers doing all that welding...

EDIT: Found it! Much harder to find, IMHO, than the one in Faultline...
