  2. Ive been asking about how to level a redside character because its so hard to find teams and have gotten this sort of advice from help.

    Get powerleveled to 35 and start chaining itf.
    Get powerleveled to 20 then go rogue and run hero tf.
    Solo to 20 then go rogue and run hero tf's and missions.
    Delete the character now and go blue.
    Get powerleveled to 50.
    Get on during primetime and pray for a team.
    Start as blue and side switch after 35


    OKie now this is clearly a problem and somewhat a dev problem and somewhat a self fufilling player problem.

    The core problems.
    Redside has about 1/4 of the players blueside does on most servers.
    The shortage of players has created the perception the only way to level redside is powerleveling leaving less people to team.
    Redsides go rogue and go teaming on blueside leaving less people to team.
    No one uses first ward at all.
    No one uses praetoria at all.
    This leaves the only coop zones RWZ, Crim and DA.
    Blueside content in general is much easier, faster and more effecient.

    we need either cross server or cross side teaming in a major way, powerleveling is effecient but not very fun, and ive had to resort to it more and more on redside characters

    I know ive brought this up before, but the problem is getting worse and no real solutions have appeared.

    I think the point is that once a toon runs a trial they arent going to want to run that trial again till the next day.

    So this actually creates two problems.

    THe player is out of trial use for the next 30-60 minutes depending on trial.

    The toon is not out of use till the next day.

    There NEEDS to be some revamp of the trial system, because right now.. its not working well.


    I Blew a conniption a few weeks ago because I had a new 50 trying to start a baf, and the DD trial forming at the same time kept stealing all the players from my trial that was starting. Especially all the experianced ones.

    Running the game the way you want to stops at the point where you interfere with other peoples enjoyment.

    Trials NEED to go cross server.

    Look back in the posts, STJ got alot of flack for being a poor performer when it came out. Basically it doesnt compare well with SS, Fire melee or mace. Im sure Stj can pull off some strange things like soloing an av with only such and such.. but

    Single target sets tend not to be well received in a game thats primary focus is killing thousands of mobs per level.

    Even if they boosted beasts single target damage.. there is still that problem.

    Basically soloing AV's is a very very very small percentage of the population, fast leveling and to some extant farming is a much more popular pass time.

    Aoe makes leveling easier in a team or solo... poor aoe is NEVER going to be liked by the playerbase in general.

    Its EXTREMELY difficult to nerf a for pay set, it sets up a expectation that any set thats good thats for pay will be nerfed later on in a Bait and switch.

    I almost feel to nerf a for-pay set would require offering refunds, otherwise they will loose trust with the players and SEVERLY reduce purchases of for-pay sets.

    Time and TW are not changing.
  9. Are there any plans now to improve beast mastery cause honestly the set..

    Stinks like rotten foot cheese..

    those fixes dont seem like they are going to do alot to change the fact that thugs/Demon outdo it in both single and aoe damage.

    From having played other mmo's if players cut off the supply of new players entering a system, devs will step in to take action.

    Da is very disapointing as far as rewards and progress go, the missions are awesome though a bit too tough for new incarnate squishies, and very few people will team for them, anyone who wants to team goes on trials.

    Da needs about double the reward level it currently has, and there needs to be some encouragement to take newer players along on trials.

    And some leaders will take nonshifts on DD or Mom, but taking players off a team then telling that team they cant come along is just so horrible, I cant even find words for it.

    as I said Ill just go free till this sorts out.

    You missed the part where I was talking about grabbing people from the Baf/Lam forming for the DD trials.

    Had about 14 people set for a baf, getting close to going, and someone starts forming a DD on top of the BAF thats already forming and we start loosing players.

    IM sorry but forming a trial on top of another one already forming and then telling the people who are +1 sorry out of luck, sorry we took most of your team, oh well too bad.

    That is JUST WRONG.

    I have no problem with asking for +2 or +3, but taking all the +2's and gutting another persons trial, then telling them they cant come on yours is about as bad and antisocial as it gets.

    Huh this sounds exactly like the situation the devs said they wanted to avoid when they were going to take away Emp's from Baf's

    They actually did a good reversal of it though by giving 2 emps to harder trials, now easier trials get ignored for easy/high reward high level trial and it leaves non level shifts stuck.

    This is going to be fun if people start going preem because they give up on the incarnate system because of lack of advancement.

  17. ITs very hard to start a baf, when every time you do, the bigger teams steal all your players

    I saw a baf and a lam both fail to start because of Dueling Trials.

    Da/Apex/Tin are not realistic for level shifting.

    Someone worked out it would take something like 6 months to t3 all your slots, running every day.

    +2 or +3 only, support only, Send tell with AT, Grabbing players from lower level trials to fill out DD, leaving unshifted out of luck.

    And you say IM imagining things.
  19. Having overpowered legacy items is worse than a bait and switch manuver.

    The only realistic solution is a correction of the item and an automated refund of points to everyone who bought it
  20. THey cant very well let some people sit with a bunch of enhancements that are better than anything else anyone can get.

    Thats just asking for trouble

    Oh if you bought a bunch in these 3 days, you are elite and everyone else is scrub and can never reach you.

    That has NEVER went over well in any game.

    But I saw it more than once.

    I've said I have no problem with asking for level shift, that makes sense thats under a players control. A player can actually pretty easily change his level shift.

    A player cant change his AT choice.

    You cant change your AT or powerset choice after creation.


    Its allright to exclude for shift, its not allright for AT or powerset.

  24. Ive just seen it start to pop up again

    UG and TPN usually want +1, Mom and DD +2 or +3

    And I have seen alot of Mom looking for more support only.

    But what really worries me is if they change something of the currency for the next level of incarnate requiring harder trials, which could leave alot of builds out of the game.

    Yes yes, an organized team on Vent can do just about anything.

    Masterminds in general on a pickup TPN are bad news. And its not even the camera's, its the narrow halls, its a real mess.

    And this is about more than just MM's.
