Dominators do reasonable, damage and controllers have their secondary.
Bust more trial mobs are either immune or highly resistant to controls.
Now they would be very usefull on the DA stuff, if the DA content presented anything resembling a realistic reward.
Just cutting off an AT's primary isnt going to endear it to anyone. -
Quote:TPN Says hi!The ones that do are very useful though. They're providing more AOE than any other single player aside from Judgement which everyone has. /Mental also has a regen debuff that can be made perma- That goes for Doms too.
I expressed my feeling on Tanks. I just wanted to address more AT's in my post to present my feelings about them.
Most trials primarily take place in open environments. Masterminds can be incredibly useful on I-Trials if they manage their pets appropriately. -
Blasters need almost a rebuild from the ground up.
Snipes are useless, crashing nukes are nearly useless, and blasters need real mez protection and secondary revamp on most of the secondaries.
Wont hold my breath for this. -
Quote:Most blaster builds dont have crashless nukes, and a Cor can often equal or near equal a blaster while providing support, sometimes at the same time. What is the basis of this information? Blasters with crashless Nukes tear stuff up during iTrials. /Mental Blasters and Dominators, Controllers, Defenders, and Masterminds all have debuffs that are invaluable for the AV fights. Stalkers and Scrappers are both able to bring DPS to the table in order to speed up those AV fights, too- Getting through fights quickly is definitely a plus on an Incarnate league. If anything is obsolete during Incarnate Trials, it's Tanks. Brutes with taunt are able to pull/tank and do much more damage to boot. That's not to say that Tanks don't have a place or can't be useful, but I think their role is the only one that's significantly overshadowed by other AT's.
I said scrappers are fine, and even tanks are fine, though its usually only 1 tank per 24 or 16 people depending on the trial.
MM's have the debuff's but they are HATED during trials, clogging up halls and adding confusion especialy since the pets scale very poorly. -
Quote:It seems to be getting worse lately.Certain ATs have always been more desirable than others, that's not new nor specific to trials or the lrsf.
However, I've never seen people denied spots on trials due to their AT, and TBH that won't be happening any time soon in a casual game like this. Unless of course you're dealing with a bad crowd, but that's not the game's fault, it's just bad player mentality, where you could easily be teaming with other people who don't have such a mentality.
Oh you dont remember when the LRSF was hard, and the only teams that made it were 6 cor's, 1 brute and 1 pity spot.
It was actually called the pity spot, because you only got in out of pity because you werent playing the UBER builds.
And Im starting to see that mentality come back again with the two newer trials. And Im really worried if next set of trials comes out, we might be right back into the LRSF problem.
They made the LRSF problem go away by nerfing it into the toilet. -
We are already starting to see the LRSF problem rear its ugly head again in itrails.
Cor/def/Brute/Tank wanted, everyone else go take a hike.
Control has little to no value on itrials other than Baf, which is so easy as to be meaningless.
Cor/def/brute has so much damage that blasters are meaningless. Stalkers... well they are better but still kinda weaker than brutes.
Scrappers are fine, but it seems like brutes are preffered. And MM's are pretty much right out, having swarms of pets all over the place does nothing to make a trial less confusing.
ITs really not too bad till you get to MoM and DD, but if the next generation of incarnate uses new something/ currency/ merits/ components.
We could see an entire tier locked to half the AT's of the game. -
Its particularly stupid since the way ive seen every team do it ever is to just lead Grey right into the biggest pack of mobs and Superspeed away.
This arc needs to go to the graveyard.
Here is one of the things thats really boring me out of the game.
Required arcs or missions.
Missions you MUST run on every character is there any reason to make an old game even more tedious. -
Quote:The arc is the opposite of fun, its unfun in the extreme.Just as a side note, it doesn't. The sad truth is that even if you have something that is universally regarded as fun in the game, and then add an exploitable shortcut to get the reward for doing it without actually having to do it, people will flock to the exploitable shortcut instead of doing that fun thing.
As another side note, "fun" is in the eye of the beholder. A lot of people in this thread keep trying to state as fact that Monty's missions aren't fun. While not as fun as other things in the game, I've never found them particularly dull or onerous. They're just something I knock out along the way as I'm leveling up, no fuss, no muss. For new players, it's something neat they get to discover and unlock.
If they started selling access to the Midnighter's Club/Cimerora in the Paragon Market, it wouldn't unduly distress me, I really don't care that much. However, I am glad that they closed up the exploit, something I'll always support.
Chasing down cot in long winding halls is NOT FUN.
Cot and Orangebagel missions have NEVER ever been fun, they are just frustrating and stupid.
Can always page a gm that the badge isnt being awarded, Tying up GM's always get a dev response.
And before anyone says this is only hurting other players, while that's true, we have a limited amount of tools to make our displeasure known and cancelling doesnt carry the weight it used ot.
So Civil disobedience in effect is one of the ones we still have and I feel fully justified in using it. -
THis has to be one of the stupidest most unneeded changes ive ever seen in any game ever
Really can we at least put an Astral Christie complete on this.
ITs a stupid arc, and it can be hard for some builds, and Crimorea is pretty much needed as there isnt a whole lot of content 35+ thats any good. -
They have a perception problem.
People perceive damage influences rewards then act accordingly.
The reality of it is uniportant. -
Cancelled subscription as of now.
THis has to be the most money grubby greedy piece of junk they have ever done.
It is pay to win, like it or not its pay to win.
This is what happens when a game goes free to play.
Free to play ALWAYS means more expensive, this is why I never touch free games.
I was hoping for better with this one and till now it hasnt been too bad, but this is just greedy beyond belief. -
Quote:If you are never supposed to get it.I just explained how to avoid the debuff. There is no longer any potential for debuff for you and anyone else reading this topic. The chance of getting that debuff is now 0%. And since nothing is bugged about the arc except that one debuff in that one mission, the chance of getting bugged in that arc as a whole is now also 0%. That's what I keep trying to say.
While "hiding in the basement" may have been a strong term, if you want to avoid XP, Influence, Reward Merits, and a badge because of a 0% chance of something bad happening, then by all means, go right ahead, but I'm still going to think that's taking caution a bit too far.
Why is it even in the game.
Do you even listen to what your saying? -
Are the devs serious.
Ive seen some really bad design decisions but this one takes the cake, coffee, donuts and everything else for bad design
1 botched ritual cripples, 2 makes a character unplayable.
Something that makes you unable the play the game for 20 hours BRILLIANT.
Whats next, fail a mission get kicked offline for 20 hours. -
Any blaster.
Its just not worth giving up everything else for slightly more damage than a corruptor or a dominator.
I could just post any blaster secondary, there isnt a worthwhile set among them.
Traps and devices is just the best example. -
Didnt like DP, it feels inferior to AR,Archer and Beam.
Though in different ways.
They need to do an animation and damage go over of the set.
Go archery or AR for aoe or beam for single target. -
Who knows now they are looking at making snipes usefull... really...
If Nukes and Snipes were useful blasters might actually be a benefit to a team, cant have that now can we? -
Finnally tested on a third character, my blaster, and it worked, I got a hero merit, needed to wait for the timer to clear.
So it goes to show, never chalk up to maliciousness what can be attributed to incompetence.
So its a bug, but they need to get this on known issues and get it fixed and not just sweep it under the rug and ignore it. -
Quote:I think if you asked most players if they would accept level rollbacks for the good of the game their answer would be no.If there was a good reason -- yes.
Both of those games had massive problems aside from rollbacks. Try again.
I could put up a post on this topic.
Its just that people are accepting this because its not levels, its just a status rollback. Developers of major mmo's do not get the otpion of a do-over or a giveback.
And I cant understand that attitude, a rollback is a rollback. -
Rednames are still being rather silent on this, if its a bug or intentional.
Though I tend to believe that silence means intentional since they usually ackowledge bugs and put them on known issues very quickly. -
Quote:Yes but you were making this out that its only affecting people who were using disposibles to farm.Yes, I know.
That's why I said I'm going to reconfirm *again*.
Or should I say that more slowly?
Thats a legitimate fix.
The loosing the comfirms is a ROLLBACK, clear and simple, the devs either didnt test it well or they said the heck with it players work doesnt matter, we will just erase it. This is NOT closing an exploit or mistake, this is taking what players have done and just erasing it.
You dont mind if we just erase a few of your levels do you, its for the good of the game. -
Quote:IM going to say this very slowly so the entire class can understand. So, I'll just run my toons that do the SSA for Alignment Merits through the reaffirmation process again and pick up easy Merits and an Alignment Merit along the way to making them eligible again for the easy once-a-week Alignment Merits.
I'm not upset. Easy A-Merits is easy A-Merits regardless of source.
If I was exploiting this with disposable toons, I guess this would be upsetting. But I wouldn't be so stupid as to publicly complain my obvious exploit was shut down.
A level 50 who recomfirmed hero 2 weeks ago, can NOT EARN A-MERITS.
The characters alignment was erased. -
Quote:WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS.You can still get A-merits without running tips by using merits and inf. This changes was justified by the fact they decided that unless you're alignment is confirmed, you need to spend inf and merits to get A-merits. If you run a morality mission while unconfirmed, you don't get A-merits. You do get your alignment confirmed, but you don't get the blue/red shiney. People were getting the merits with less effort and time, without needing to use inf and merits, that needed to be changed.
Like I said, it sucks, but dems da breaks.
We are talking about them erasing already existing comformations. -
Quote:Anyone else reminded of the AE fix threads by this one? You know the ones where the devs closed an exploit and all the exploiters came in yelling and screaming about it?
your being intentionally thick
We arent talking about the changing the system, if they want to require people to confirm alignment thats fine, I may not like, I may think that this is going to hurt casual players, but thats fine if they want to change it.
What we are talking about here is ERASING already existing confirmations.
GOT IT?
The change to the system is akin to requiring everyone to do the tutorial mission before being able to earn experiance again
The bug or deliberate rollback is akin to taking levels off an already existing character. -
