  1. When playing my KM stalker (just started him as a result of the I22 changes)... I honestly couldn't tell that AS was animating at all... I just see a bunch of orange numbers and a badguy fall down and then queue the next attack as fast as possible.

    I like it!

but yeah.. all AS's should be equally awsome.

I'm playing up a new KM stalker simply because that chain exists. I also ended up selecting /EA because I liked it's endurance tools.

I'm having trouble calculating the chain because I honestly don't have good information on non-hidden AS.
  3. The thing i like the least about shadowmeld is it's animation time. Losing 3 seconds of attacks is annoying to me... But where it works great is to use it as I charge into a spawn (the animation doesn't root you, thank God). I use it like a "burst survival" power to absorb the alpha. I use it on my MA/Fire toon, and there's really nothing I'm afraid of for the 15 seconds it's up... and very rarely is there still a threat after 15 seconds that's not controlled by the teams' taunters or controllers. My build is completely focused on recharge, so with only about 10 seconds of downtime I have it ready to charge 1st into pretty much every spawn on all but the fastest moving teams.

That said, with it being almost my only source of defense, I do die more on this toon then a lot of people would want in their scrappers. But Rise of the Pheonix turns that into a good thing.

    So Uh...Spines?

IMHO, the biggest problem with spines isn't with spines.. it's with the NPC run away AI which makes spines beyond annoying to play. If they boosted the runspeed debuff to prevent runners from getting way (I mean REALLY REALLY slow them down) then it'd actually be a pretty sweet boost for more then quality of life reasons ... they'd turn around but not escape... that could work like a ghetto hold power.

    ATO Question

glad I asked... actually I won't upgrade any since, as I understand it the +10 recharge counts as the same as my 5 purples... it's a shame I can't upgrade my proc without losing the recahrge... since the set in question is the defender set... i'm not really too disappointed... but it does seem wrong that upgrade would have a negative affect on my build's goals.

    ATO Question

    Quick question...

If I have an ATO set 6 slotted in a power, and I apply a catalyst to upgrade 1 of those enhancements... do I still get the set bonus for being 6 slotted? ...or is it only 5 slotted now since one from the superior set?
  7. When I'm in full "I need money to finish this build" mode, I convert to alignment merits and buy level 40 miracle uniques or level 50 LoTGs... (the lower level ones often sell for more, but they sell slower and I'm more of a "lets get money NOW!" type guy.

I also use alignment merits to buy my own LoTGs for my own builds.. .and I also use them to get low level stealth recipes that just aren't for sale for use on my own toons.

  9. I didn't read that link (yet)... but here's what I already know...

Loki is attacks earth with the intention of ruling the world (and probably bating a trap for Thor.. cause why else would he do that?)
SHIELD tries to form the Avengers.
    The Avengers don't get along.
They eventually decide to team up because Earth needs them.
    They save earth.
    There's room for a sequal.

Ok... now I'm going to look at the link and see if I'm surprised.
  10. Mid's is so universally used and desired... i'm really surprised that the dev's don't create and maintain and offline build planner... and then incorperate a way to save/load builds in game for respec purposes.

Ironically, probably one reason this doesn't happen because the people who've created/maintained/etc mid's have all done so well.

I wouldn't call it ultimate, but a sonic/Dual Pistals always looked interesting to me. Decent debuffs from sonic, and if you use predominantly chem rounds, makes for an interesting layering of resistance buffs and -dmg debuffs. More so with void judgment and paralytic interface.
With DP I find I prefer to use lethal rounds on hard targets. Then you get the -resist from piercing rounds which isn't part of the other ammo types. As someone mentioned earlier -resists is really the most desired debuff for what the OP is wanting.

Given that traps has the highest -resists and -regen, plus it gives good -damage and +defense in huge amounts and it comes with status protection.

Granted it takes a little time to ramp up it's -resists... but in a hard fight you have a little time, and if you don't, you didn't need it.

In my opinion, Traps *is* the "Ultimate Debuffer"... with defender being the AT with the highest debuff values.
  13. I seriously doubt people will now refuse to team with people working toward the badge, as some people have suggested. I team with people running this arc regularly with my toons who already have the badge... I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Personally, I like any content that has a reward that can't be obtained more quickly by farming. I probably won't make friends saying this, but I'd like to see more things locked behind story arcs ...anything to entice people off the farm is a good thing IMHO.
  14. I'm a little miffed that another issue when by and my hands are still burning when I use hasten but I can't say that anything they've done is a negative thing.

That's actually a cool idea. Not sure it solves any of the problems, but it'd be cool.
  16. I honestly don't think people avoided teaming with stalkers.... they (and I) did avoid playing them, though.

I'm planning a KM stalker now.

It's as if the toggle is causing a hit before the next attack and therefore it does not get the proc crit?

When I have chilling embrace turned off, so far I have crit every time after AS. I queue next attack immediately after hitting AS.

I am using the non-superior version of the proc, DB primary using ablating strike after AS, and have been testing on the small packs of prisoners around the Zig (425 so far) as a level 34.

Not sure if this helps, but at least wanted to share what I'm seeing. : )
(There's lot's of posts about Chilling embrace, so I'm just responding to that subject in general, not this particular post)

Is CE the only power that causes this issue? Has anyone looked at this to know if it's an issue for Oppressive Gloom, Cloak of Fear, and/or Disrupt?
  18. I'd like to see Excecutioner's Shot have no range penalty. Similar to archery, it'd be a nice boon to have full range with the ST attacks in exchange for redraw and damage late in the animations.

Oh.. and I'd like to see Peircing Rounds give it's -resist in other the forms besides just lethal.

    Check this out

Just watched some of your other videos, too. They were great. That's the best explination I've seen about the Staff Powerset coming next week. Good work.

We know from the Thor film that Loki was going after the cosmic cube. We know from the Captain America film that the cube was part of the Norse history in the movie universe. Does it have the power to bring forth the Midgard Serpent? Maybe. Or a close approximation. I would say the legends of the Serpent probably were less reality and more myth. Even so, this looks like a battle worthy of the team.

As to the JLA, I've always been a DC fan. The biggest problem with DC is they have no long term plans movie wise. They are not quick to act on their properties, and to come out with 3 or more good character movies involving the team frankly seems unlikely. By the time the got #3 out, the actor (actress) for #1 would have moved on long ago. A JLA movie is only going to fly if you have a 90% stable and familiar cast. I'd be impressed if they'd just do a World's Finest type team-up between Superman and Batman -- possibly as a lead to a JLA movie. We've never even seen that in live action yet...
OK OK... there is that one thing though, right? I can't be the only one who thinks this. The concept of a team comic superhero movie scares me a bit because generally I suspect they will spend too much time getting every charictor involved in the action and not enough time making us care about each one of them. Since we have the prequel movies, perhaps it'll be more forgivable here... but I've always had a fear that this movie will be a little too much like GI Joe or Transformers which basically was just about special effects with very little plot development. While, that can be fun, I really really want, instead is a truely great movie. I'll deflinatly see this movie... probably multiple times. But I suspect what I'd prefer to see is a well done Hulk movie... or perhaps a Thor Movie with other Heroes showing up as in a cameo. Joss Whedon name being attached does give me hope.
  21. As great as the trailer looks... I still get more chills hearing the music queue up at the end of that batman trailer.
  22. The best thing about DP is Hail of Bullets. It's a crashless nuke that on most teams you can use every spawn. It's got the same recharge as the defender version of soul drain, so you can use them in tandom very nicely.

All the other powers are flashy and look nice, but as a whole are similar to attacks you would find in any other set.

For this reason, I actually prefer the set on Defenders, as they can still take full advantage of the hail of bullets to soften up a spawn for the team, then go back to focusing on their superior support powers while "looking cool" with an attack every now and then.
  23. I think the Hulk is level T4 50+++ maxed out and frankly a little bored with the game. He's happy to help his friends out sometimes and occasionally he'll go bust up some street fight between arch villians from another dimension just to pass the time... but really he'd probably be happier playing his new alt that has different unique challenges he's not expirienced before.

Speaking of pets... I'd vote for giving the bomb movement and have it act exactly like seeker drones. Summon it and let it follow you into a fight to go boom... or summon it into a spawn from a distance to start a fight (which is an excellent way to use drones). That' be very useful and it doesn't deviate much from it's original intent.
  25. I think trapdoor is appropriatly difficult as a gatekeeper npc. I don't want to knock the OP, but I'm 100% certain any AT and powerset combo can beat him solo. If you fail, then its because you didn't do something that you could have. Presumably because you haven't learned to do that yet. Once you learn what is needed and succed in excecution of that task, you've passed the test and can move forward to incarnate content.

Maybe that sounds harsh, but seriously, we're talking about a fight that can be ended in less then 10 seconds solo by a lot of people. And I'm certain any brute can do that finish him that fast easier then most.
