Relevant question, does this apply to the pets gained through temp powers, secondaries, the heavies, and / or Thugs Gang War?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can't set Pets to defensive stances, so this should only affect Henchmen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah but the Heavies go through stances.... At least I think they do....

I don't know about you guys, but I finish most of my missions in less than 15 minutes. 15 minutes is even plenty of time to fight an AV. If you're taking any longer than you will probably never win (you're not overcoming the regen enough).

I can see it being really useful when you're on a large team and you get one of those carnie maps where all of the spawns are practically touching so even pulling a single minion will often cause three spawns to come after you. There's nothing like trying to fight 12 Master Ills at once.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well then if you are finishing missions in 15 minutes or less then you probably dont need the SG base buffs since obviously you mow through them like the proverbial bat out of hell. But then you are probably thinking about just the mission itself instead of say... travel time to get to sg base, load up the salvage, select buff, get from sg base to mission, zone into mission, and actually getting to the fight you wanted the buff for in the first place. And I know or dang sure NO mm could finish anything other than a fed ex mission in anything less than 20, effective pet set up is a lil too long.

15 mins is not enough time for a master mind
by the time we get to the zone and set up our pets and run to the "spot giving us a hard time" the buff would have worn off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No way. Every single zone in CoV has a base portal in it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But it takes around 8 minutes summon, equip, upgrade, buff our bots / ninja / undead / mercs / and soon to come thugs and really buffs to damage / speed / def etc help the MM but it would be better if it helped our henchmen.

I'd say they'd be annoying to the point of being semi to mostly useless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, yes, that's the other potential concern.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Empowerment station buffs are currently set at 15 minute durations (far longer than any other non-toggle buff in the game). They are bestowed on you as soon as you craft them, and last 15 minutes from there. The idea is to have enough time to get you past that sticky part of a mission that was giving you trouble.

15 minutes is the time we are going to the Training Room with. If it turns out that that's not enough time for you to Empowerment Buff, get to the mission, and get you through the tough fight, then it will be increased.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm travel to base... factor in lag.. factor in travel time back to mish... factor in time to get to tough spot in mission... and the x factor of a spawn infront of the door at actually might layeth the smacketh down on me, need to go afk, ninja pirate mech piloting leprachauns suddenly invade the zone.... th... I rarely nay say but I dont think 15 minutes is a good duration, temp power might be the way to go with this Pos.

I noticed the martial artist, Foreshadow, seemed to not only use kicks, but chi-enhanced hand strikes as well. Does this mean MA will be getting some energy melee animated attacks to choose from, or are we getting a different, more "street fighting" MA set to choose from? Also seriously looking forward to a gunkata scrapper, if thats one of the archtypes that's coming

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think Street Fighting is actually planned. (I *THINK*. Thats not to say I am right)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think that stuff is Foreshadow's special abilities.

Like States gets that lightning crap and Psyche gets mind riding(or whatever is called)...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats what I thought too, plus street fighting is going to be more "boxing like" in appearance from what I've been reading about it .

That Lightning sword attack is probably one of the most kick - azz attacks ive seen this side of Onimusha or Devil May Cry

  16. Ozi my blaster, since he is a master of teleportation, would be using his powers to evac people day and night. And when not working on evacuation he'd be teleporting in food and water.
SentinelDragon my scrapper: He's a govt. he'd be patrolling the superdome and maintaining order as much as possible
ShockHawk my other blaster, there'd be a lot of bad guys in electric fences over and over and over again.
Flipshot my defender: He would be assisting Ozi with rescue efforts using flash arrow as a singnal flare, taking down any opposition hostage takers with his oh so swift arrows (snap shot rules) so that Ozi can tp in, round up survivors, and then tp out.

  18. Character Name: unknown right now
    Server: Liberty
Archetype: Katana / Super Reflexes scrapper (or maybe a Inv / Em tanker not sure yet)
Inspiration: Actually basing this off of the character for the series of short stories and eventual novel im writing about a 23rd century Bounty Hunter / Private investigator, its going to be along the lines of a cross between Blade Runner and Rorouni Kenshin, Ninja scroll and Raiders of the lost ark with a little bit of Heavy Gear thrown in. (Concepts borrowed not ripped off, im virulently against plagarism of creative content, and cat juggling) He's a bit of an urban samurai whos generally good natured, a smart mouth and isnt concerned much about the world picture and is more about the little people.

Well, if the Paragon Fire Department is anything like the Paragon Police Department, the firefighters run screaming from fires the way the cops run screaming from mobs (except in the Hollows, where they seem to have stationed the few cops with backbones and firearms training). No wonder they need heroic support.

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL im still trying to figure out why Paragon's S.W.A.T. isnt very S.W.A.T.-like. Everyone knows big city S.W.A.T. teams almost always have snipers on roof tops and such. And why the heck do they always get stuck by themselves in the hollows in the middle of the gulch, by their lonesome surrounded by trolls and outcasts..... Dont they know without a travel power Hollows = doom?
  20. Ozi - Wu Tang Clan, Gravel Pitt

planned archer character - Bad Man by John Cena
  21. Character Name: Ozi
    Server: Liberty
Archetype: Mutant Energy / Energy Blaster
Inspiration: Ozi is a modified version of a character of a sci-fi character I had when I was playing RIFTS, he was a mutant then too (though he had martial arts abilities as well as energy powers ) but the memories of his past were slightly fried in a fight with a very powerful enemy. This splintering of his thoughts caused him to develop a darker aspect of his peronality which changes his outer appearance to a more monsterous form. He has three costumes, his first one is his "space hero" costume, the second is just a suit he wears when hes tryin to look GQ, and the third is the monsterous form (which im workin on) He's also sort of inspired by Predator, or rather my tactics with him are, I like using the stealth approach teleporting around the battle field sniping teleporting away invisible I just wish some of his energy blasts came from his eyes...

    Character Name: Sentinel Dragon
    Server: Liberty
Archetype: Mutant MA / SR scrapper
Inspiration: Wuxia and hong kong cinema, power rangers, and anime (and one DANG good bottle of rum) were all in effect when i created this character. Though I ended up liking him so much I didnt delete him, heck I changed my forum name from LoneRonin to SentinelDragon I liked him so much. Im going to work a bit on his origion, because i gave him the generic govt agent treatment and it doesnt seem to fit him.

Character Name: not known yet... or rather im not saying so it doesnt get jacked
    Server: Liberty
Archetype: Mutation, defender Trick arrows / archery
Inspiration: A little bit of Bobba Fett, a little bit of green arrow, a little bit of Predator. This will be my "ruthless vigilante" character.
  22. The following is a file from Interpol's special investigations unit.

    Case Number: SIF-8431-LL
    Classification: Confidential
    Case Status: In Progress
    File Updated: 220740Z JUL 05
File Updated By: Special Agent Simon Graves (FBI)
Subj: Menthu a.k.a Fallbrook, Samuel former covert operative for Interpol Taskforce: Nomad

Three years ago Samuel Fallbrook was the lead field operative for Interpol Taskforce: Nomad, a mobilized group of highly trained covert specialists who's expertise ranged from counter terrorism, narcotics, search and rescue, counter-paranormal and S.W.A.T. like operations. Agent Fallbrook himself was an expert marksman, had high ranks in hand-to-hand combat ratings, and was almost prodigal with his investigative measures. A dedicated operative without peer who displayed valor and compasion far above and beyond the call of duty. He never left a teamate down on the field, and led his team over 200 missions which has lead to the arrests of over 300 fugitives, terrorists, and crime lords, the recovery of 30 missing persons. Which made the incident at Barcelona all the more tragic. On the pursuit of the ruthless metahuman assassin, Barnibus Farrady, a.k.a. Funny Bonez rumored to be under the employ of a cell of The Family working out of Spain. Fallbrook's team had the situation well in hand till his contact on the inside blew his cover and comprimised the entire investigation. Fallbrook's field team were all captured including Fallbrook who was tortured and made to watch his team killed off one by one. It is still unknown to all parties, even Agent Fallbrook how he escaped with Farrady's unconscious body in toe, but he was nonetheles found barely alive broken and bleeding in Interpol's Barcelona office. Two weeks later Fallbrook was put on inactive duty status pending a full psychiatric review and internal affairs investigation. Unbeknownst to Fallbrook he was put under surveillance due to the still unanswered question of his escape. The weeks that followed his forced vacation he was seen in the company of his girlfriend, photo-journalist and Interpol press liason, Kelly Oceans (see file CPI-2280-DD-4). During there globe trotting vacation, Fallbrook happened to be in "the right place at the right time" assisting in the capture of criminals in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Austrailia to name a few of the places that happened to conincide with Ms. Oceans's world of crime series of articles in the New York times. All seemed normal, as far as Fallbrook was concerned till 15 SEP 02 when Interpol's office in Kingston, Jamaica recieved a frantic call from Oceans. When authorities arrived on the scene they found an unconscious Oceans, an injured alien, a smoldering crater, and no sign of Fallbrook. When Oceans regained consciousness she was frantic and erratic for three days. After sedation and clearance from the local doctors, she gave an account of the events that transpired. A group of, from what Oceans described, extra terresteral pirates, had decided to make Earth, in particular Jamaica their base. Fallbrook had initially thought them to be just another group of high tech mercenaries until one revealed his true identity to him in an attempt to defect to an Earth authority. As things tend to go wrong on an unorganized operation, Fallbrook, Oceans, and the alien defector were captured by the pirates. The alien managed to help them escape, but during the resultant gun battle Fallbrook's mutant abilities sprung to life allowing him from to stand toe to to with the leader of the band of pirates. At some point one of the many devices in the facility, the defector called it a teresect generator, exploded creating a fissure in time and space, destroying the base and presumably Fallbrook. Before agents could question the alien, a Crey's science team had taken him into custody. However the Crey's team did supply the information that there were no DNA traces of Fallbrook at the disaster site. This case file was closed up to three days ago when a UFO broke the atmosphere two miles outside of Paragon City, RI and crash landed on a New England farming commune. Before local authorities could respond the lone pilot of the craft was already in a pitched battle with a group of the miscreants known as the Skulls. Two minutes and eight broken jaws later the Skuls were in police custody (well in ambulences on their way to police custody). The pilot called himself Menthu to the local authorities and then told them to contact the Interpol office in Paragon City. While in Interpol custody, Menthu removed his mask and revealed himself to be Samuel Fallbrook. It turns out the explosion that resulted from the teseract generator's explosion teleported him several light years away onto the deck of a ship of interstellar bounty hunters. Somehow he managed to join these hunters and for the last three years Fallbrook has in a way, continued his line of work in areas never before seen by earthborne eyes. Though Fallbrook was glad to be back on Earth, he revealed information that a group of fugitives that escaped an alien society near Alpha centari, was currently hiding on Earth (see file SIF-1831-AL). After a closed door meeting with NSA, FBI, and the costumed adventurerer Statesman, Fallbrook was given the authority to pursue the alien fugitive as well as fight crime in Paragon City. As directed by the senior director of the Interpol Special Investigations division, I will continue my surveillance of Fallbrook's operations.

    End of report
  23. Ozi - Wu Tang Clan, Gravel Pitt
Sentinel Dragon - Lenny Kravitz, Are you gonna go my way?
Menthu - John Cena, Bad Man (yeah he's a WWE superstar, but damn I like the beat to that song)

Picky eh? Hmmm. My Mythology is casual at best (though I really do enjoy it). It probably means that Jack knows a bundle more than we do, to the point that when we DO find out what Statesman is... It's going to be an "Oooh ahhh" moment.
