well, to answer your question: the purple recipes are suppossed to be ultra rare. ultra rare means hard to come by. ultra rare means not everyone will have them immediately. ultra rare means that as supply drops demand goes up as does the price that people will pay for them. ultra rare means that if people aren't dropping them because they are doing AE prices will go up because supply and demnad deams it so. ultra rare does not mean instant gratification.

no, i understand that. but if you bust in on someone brand new to the sceen all you have done is drive them out. believe me i have been on both ends of the stick. i'm not fighting for either side. but take into consideration that these are the exact type of complaints the dev's got which helped them give us what has become PvP today. it also didn't help that the dev's snuck around test watching and not saying anything and assuming they knew what was going on.

like i said, i have been on both ends of the stick and when i was on the recieving end i stayed out of zones until a couple certain groups left. then i went in and was actually able to watch the open PvP and figure out what was going on. yeah i took some deaths, but they weren't 1 after the next after the next unlike what i was getting from the affore mentioned groups. when i felt comfortable i joined in. took about a week or 2 of watching and asking questions but i got to the point where i felt comfortable. now after a yr and a half i have found myself doing the same thing to new people that was done to me by the nicer groups. and we have actually had new people come back rather then stay out.

but what you seem to be missing is that you can not base what other people are willing to spend on what you make. that is where your half [censored] brain dead idea falls apart. and again, if you look at the ability to make money through AE and the drastic drop in RMT prices, you actually start to realize that the RMT people are trying to compete with the AE in terms of infl/inf. once they see that it is not worth their time because maybe 1-3 people are using their site they will leave. but that doesn't mean that all of a sudden prices will drop. what that means is that people are making more then the RMT can offer and have no use for them.

again, your idea has no merit and has had no merit since AE came around. maybe pre AE some form of this would have been half acceptable, but seeing as how infl/inf is falling out of the skies and jumping out of the ground and off the trees, it doesn't.

and did anyone stop to think that maybe these are new players trying it out to see what it is about? i mean it is easier to just go to a zone then figure out the arena kiosk. and if they are new players, which is what the dev's wanted, you have just chased them out, which is what the dev's didn't want. good job keeping the PvP zones low population.

why should people be investigated? because they have an easier time making money playing the markets then you do? if you haven't noticed the prices at the RMT sites has been going down drastically because, imo, no one is using them and they are trying to get people to use them. they are a dying thing in this game and soon enough won't be around. they had nothing to do with the skyrocketing prices, the AE did.

when people stopped doing regular farms and the supply decreased of purples, i watched them go from 50-60 mil a pop to 100 mil a pop. then as time went by and supply became nil i watched them go from 100 mil or so a pop to 200 mil a pop. why? because people had made enough money from the AE to afford it. obviously you haven't been apying attention to this or you would never have suggested people being investigated.

you haven't hit any sore spot with me. and i have never spent anymore then 100 mil on anything. and seeing as how i make roughly, on the small end of it, 500 mil a week selling at the markets i have no reason to worry.

and you astill haven't answered the question as to why you wan't people investigated. simple to answer if you had any idea what you were talking about.

not going to say never going to happen, just going to say stupid if they did. they are like purples in that they exemp down with you just like purples. most people don't know this which is good because it leaves them to a majority of the PvP base. also until the patch that is on test comes to live, you're just gonna have to deal with standing around for 5 mins until the rep timers reset. which means noone can attack anyone for the 5 mins or the timer won't reset right now. which drives the prices even higher.

I currently have 3 bids outstanding for an Armageddon triple and 2 Apocalypse triples. Each bid is for slightly over 100mil, and have been sitting for a month. I WANT those recipes, but considering the amount of work it takes me to make 100mil, I believe they are not worth more than that. Yet people are paying 200-500mil redside for these. I guess they want it more NAO than I do, and have more spare time to make that inf. Mr. Quint, stop acting like everyone around you is a noob and get over yourself. Not everyone thinks 10-25% of the inf cap for a single recipe is a worthwhile investment.

so what are you doing with the drops that you get that you don't need? selling them to a vendor? why not spend some time at the market doing some research bout the recipe and made enhancement and see which is going for more then sell it in the way that will get you the highest amount. doesn't take a genius to figure that out. then you won't just be earning inf from doing the run but also from marketing your stuff you don't want/need at this time.

oh and just because most people stil don't seem to understand: PURPLES ARE SUPPOSSED TO BE ULTRA RARE. get over it.

i have plenty of toons that i would like to have purples in but i don't. big freakin deal. i wait for them to drop or wait for a bid to fill.

yeah i have had both happen. i have also had my bids at ww/bm show up in a tell which is funny cause then people get to see what i bid.

what part about "it is the PURCHASER that sets the price" don't you understand jd? seriously, if people weren't willing to pay the high price and GETITNAO then prices would still be around the norm. what happens though is people who don't understand the market see the high prices people who WANTITNAO have paid and then list what they are selling at a higher price then that figuring that is the normal going price.

next time you get a purple drop sell it and see how much you get for it. the whole idea of a market house is that the person with the highest bid wins. some people go out of their way and list something high and buy it with another of their toons at a high price to drive up prices which is bad market ethics.

the only purples that seem to be doing this though are the melle, ranged, targeted aoe and pbaoe. the damage sets. because eveyone uses them. notice the hlod, immob, confuse and sleep are still relatively cheap. although some are starting to creep up due to alot more control toons being made.

also remember that prices went up as soon as the AE came out. when they doubled from 50 mil to 100 mil in 2 weeks i suggested to everyone i knew that we should be running regular farms for a while to keep purples in the market and prices down. but guess what, the fast xp was an addiction to them and the AE is where they stayed. and where they stay to this day. at least until dbl xp weekend, then back to AE they go. see the problem there. AE rewards are where the money is at this point.

somone in another thread had pointed out that when your account logs in it is flagged with a number that is tied onto the RNG. i don't remember the post word for word so i won't try to explain it but i do remember that it is that number that deems what drops you get and how frequently you get drops.

just thought i would ask. usually when that happens on infinity it turns into 2 hrs of broadcast PvP and there is no one left in the zone about 10-20 mins after it starts.

you do realize how many accounts that would put under investigation correct? you also do realize having been around since before i9 and the invention system was introduced that alot of people had toons with hundreds of millions sitting around doing nothing? think before you speak, plz.

you also realize that almost anything can be gotten by running a few missions in ae and rolling your tickets. the only acceptions are purples and PvP recipes.

if you guys want more chances to drop things then set your diff to 4 and run regular missions. you will get harder, more populated spawns.

problem with that is there are really no AT's that can do everything. you can get a couple combo type AT's like blappers, or spine scrapster(scrapper with some ranged attacks) but nothing that will do everything.

what server are you on? if it is infinity or freedumb or pinnacle or gaurdian i may be able to help.

edit: i can also make a new toon on whatever server you are on that i don't have one on.

and a price cap will see everything listed at the price cap. the only reason things have shot up is supply is low and demand high. that is what happens when eveyone is getting new 50's and want's to trick them out. if you run regular missions with your 50's you will drop the things that you want eventually. and the things that you don't want you can sell at the market and get infl/inf to fund your purchases.

remember, the market is not a store, it is an auction house, where the highest bidder wins. place your bid and wait and if you drop what you want before having your bid filled then drop the bid and you get your money back.

well, as long as you have 2 accounts to do this or a very trusted friend, all you have to do is pass the super leader on to the one you want it to be. if not it becomes a hassle with only one account. as the super leader gets passed on by the earliest join date in the sg between the leaders.

roll a blapper. best of both worlds. and strategies can change on the fly.

they will not split the xp that way. and you still haven't gotten past the point that AE is an alternate means to lv from 1-50.

edit: this would also create problems in the regular missions as now if you do take that new player who has all this xp banked, when he out lv's the people on his team by 5 lv's they wont wan't him on the team anymore because they are no longer getting xp.

well that depends on if you put any enhances in brawl i guess. i usually do so hence my suggestion.

because some people dont take granite. don't ask why no one knows. but on the other side, none of the toggle armors works with granite. so usually at 41(patron power freespec) most brutes drop all the toggle shields except for granite unless they are using the other armors for set bonuses.

if you select a power and lock it in and then look at the top right corner of the attributes box it shows the acc as percentage not ?.?.

base acc is 75% on most things. what powers specificaly are you having a problem with?

thats a good idea to. get both badges at the same time. just remember that at lv 50 even brawl will kill the ghosts so you might want to exemp down to lv 20-25 or so through ouro.
