gee wonder who gave me this.
incase you haven't noticed donna this is not a serious changes to PvP thread. with that said, we need a floor in the train or under atlas that burns up the FC'ers upon contact. -
Quote:incase you haven't read any of the thread, which i believe you haven't, i have been one of the ones who has given many a solution to dealing with mezzers. you are one of the ones who is insisting that mezzes are imsurmountable. you choose to disregard any of the solutoins that have been given to you and keep whining. if you have been around for as long as you say you have, then you should already know what can be done to deal with the mezzers. as for the saying something long enough line of bs, maybe you are the one who should be asking yourself if that is what you believe. When you resort to describing someone that disagrees with you as a whiner you have stepped over the line into the land of RUDE thank you very much. The rest of your post is little more than learn to play. Which is a complete failure to listen to what has been said in this thread in terms of what is available and what might be done. Its as if you believe that if you say something often enough and loud enough anyone that disagrees with it must be wrong.
-
not if you put a team together to do it. im sure many people would like to be able to get into cimerora. and anyone who is on the team will be able to without doing their own arc.
-
Quote:actually it's not rude or ignorant. it is telling people who whine that they want an easier game to actually use the tools they have been given for dealing with a situation. in fact the only ones that are being rude and ignorant are the ones who fail to listen to the advice and keep insisting that mez is a problem or advocating that melee should have their mez protection removed or dropped down. with so many of us saying that there is no problem and so little of you saying there is, then maybe it is really time to look at how you approach spawns on your squishies.I have seen you tell people what is and isn't unpleasant. Your single response is learn the joys of defiance 2.0 and whenever someone disagrees with you you tell them they need to play the at.
What this thread has shown is that Mezz protection is not an I win/I lose button. We have had examples of squishies with melee protection in various forms (Dominators/ Masterminds/ Blasters) it is obviously not an I win button for them. We have had examples of Melees without mezz protection (/Fire) and for them it hasn't been an I lose button.
So yes when you jump on your High Horse and tell people learn to play or that they want an i win button its rude and just plain ignorant of what has been posted in the thread. -
so how many times are we going to have to go through this with you samson? people do not want to team all the time. get that through your head already. if the game was purely focused on teaming then maybe, but IT IS NOT. get yourself some global friends that feel the same as you do and you will never have a problem with teaming.

reset your modem and router. this helps alot. also make sure to do a disc clean up and defrag.

Quote:you do realize that break frees can be used even while mezzed don't you? and you can change 3 of the same inspirations into a break free while mezzed. No its lose sooner or later and no amount of skill changes that. It doesn't even take very much mez, just enough to drop your auras or prevent you from using an inspiration.
now for this:
Quote:Imagine if melee characters had no immobilize protection. Not stuns and holds, just immobilize. Then imagine that the enemy AI was designed to immobilize and kite. Frustrating, huh?
why does everyone seem to think that break frees either aren't exsistant or won't do anything? -
Quote:updates are what keeps your card running at optimal performance. same thing as updates for your operating system. it is always a good idea to get the latest drivers.I'm not sure about others, but if my card is running fine, I really don't bother with updates and I've had it for over 2 years now.
I was looking at the list of things and thinking which I could remove, I'm always finicky about this stuff cause I don't want to break something else >_> Though I'm sure about at least the obvious stuff.
edit: updated the list, removed a bunch of things, not sure about what else I can remove. -
Quote:have you not read any of this thread? squishies have ways of dealing with mezzers before they become a problem. go back and read the thread all the way through. please. And what happens when the melees fail at their "job" of keeping aggro? Who dies first?
Scrappers, brutes, tankers, MM's, controllers all have the tools to be completely self-sufficient. They can control a solo fight and/or have the survivability to take a few hits. Blasters, defenders, and corruptors don't have the tools to deal with mez whatsoever, with ice blast being the obvious outlier.
So how, really, is it different in melee or ranged? There are still plenty of ranged mez attacks from enemies, and they still completely take a character out of the fight. It isn't a one-shot kill, but for however long the mez lasts, that character is not contributing to a team. If solo, they can't defend themselves or fight back. (blasters get their tier 1 and tier 2 attacks- better than nothing, but not enough when you're already being overpowered.)
Squishies want mez protection for the exact same reasons its invaluable to melee characters. Solo, the "job" of both is exactly the same: defeat the enemies before they defeat you. Melee characters can do this easily. Squishies have the deck stacked against them with significantly less survivability to begin with. Lack of mez protection was always a bad idea considering the frequency and power of mez effects in this game, especially at 30+. -
Quote:k i'll respond to your idea that melee needs less:
Now back on track my position was not that squishies needed more protection as much as melee toons could do with the less and that it would improve the overall game experience.
NO THEY DON'T. unless while on a team, on your squishy, you want to be huggin the floor all the time. it is the job of the melee toons to keep the aggro off the squishies so they can do what they need to. take away even some mez protection and you would end up with the same situation as if melee had none at all. believe me when i say this would not improve the overall game experience. -
so what do you do when your hover board vanishes from underneath you when in the air and switch to combat? do you just fall out of the air or sit there hovering on nothing?
and with the cape. do you grab it and hold it out away from you so it catches the wind? and as far as i know, with out some kind of jump booster, you would only be able to jump about 4-6 ft high at the max. guess how far forward that will get ya... not very. -
Quote:actually i have a **** build on my fire/kin right now. in fact i have to do a respec and get rid of the 25 common io's i have in him. and if you are talking smash/lethal resistance then the mezzes CAN hit you. resistance means you don't take as much damage where as defense means things hit you less. so my half *** built fire/kin takes on maps full of +2/x8 with no problem. and that is getting right into the middle of the mob where i am more likely to be hit by the lt's and bosses that have MA that mezzes. i still don't see why squishies would need mez protection. i certainly don't with the half *** build i have right now. the key is tactics and some inspirations if you need them. but most people should not be trying to do things they know for certain their toon can't handle. again that is not the games fault or anyone elses but the player of the toon.
Yes its very possible to build a squishy to deal with particular circumstances well. The famous/infamous Fire/Kin with smash lethal cap is a great example. On a council map as you describe the mezzes can't hit you. On a Rikti map that fire/kin doesnt do so well.
in fact, here's another prime example of squishies not needing mez protection for ya. i have a fire/cold corruptor half *** built also. when rikti head gunmen were the rage to set up the massive ambush in the back room in the AE, i solo'd those set for 6 people with no problem. maybe a death or 2 a run but that was from incomming damage not being mezzed. i very rarely got mezzed on him. -
Quote:my examples, if it wasn't clear enough, was the first 2 were for teams. the second set was for squishies playing the normal difficulty setting for solo. there is no need for this discussion at all. but just for s&g's, i run my council map set +2/x8 on my fire/kin with no problem ever. even before i16 when the mobs had 2 bosses and 6 lt's. if i do manage to get mezzed, i eat a break free and go back to the buisness at hand. by the time the break free wears off the spawn is dead.B: "Mezzer" ???? If there were only one per spawn nobody would be talking about this.
Its a little more like
A. Squishies spot spawn
B. There are about 3 or 4 mezzers in the spawn.
C. They try to prioritize and hit the most dangerous one first.
D. All goes well 2 of the mezzers are out of the action and one or 2 of the squishies is out of the action.
The mezzed people are a little annoyed especially if they have for all intents and purposes been one shotted by minions.
if people are having a hard time at normal diff, then they should not be playing a higher diff with their squishies. true story. -
did you do it on one side only? i also have heard that both factions need to turn in salvage.
-
no problems with mine either since i16. try /unloadgfx when you play it. aside from that file a ticket.
-
ok. im going to say this as clearly as possible for the 3 that still don't get how mezzes and melee don't work.
A: tank/scrapper/brute runs in and takes aggro for entire team.
B: tank/scrapper/brute is hit with all the mezzes.
C: blasters/defenders/controllers/corruptors/dominators are free to do their thing to aggro'd mob.
D: mob dies, everyone lives. good times.
now take away tank/scrapper mez protection/resistance:
A: tank/scrapper/brute runs in to take aggro for the entire team.
B: tank/scrapper/brute ends up out of commission due to mezzes.
C: everyone on team dies. bad times.
now mezzes and squishies:
A: squishies close in on spawns.
B: squishies identify mezzer and hit aim/build up or aim or build up and use thier snipe power or longest ranged attack or controllers/dominators hold/mez the mezzer and no problems.
C: mezzer either dies or takes another blast to the face and dies.
D: squishies move on to the rest of the spawn. good times
now for some squishies played as melee that shouldn't be:
A: squishies run into spawn and get mezzed and die. bad times.
i hope i have made it easier for people who think they are something they are not or proven that there are really no problems that a very few people think there are. there are options in place that will help deal with the few and far between times when a squishy gets mezzed. they are called inspirations.
change your tactics when playing a squishy is the only advice that can be given if all you do is solo. it is not the games fault nor anyone elses for you not planning your strategy before going into battle. -
and here, just incase you didn't see this one...

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. -
the CoH Helper report is saying that you have service pack 1 for vista and your video drivers are from 2008. try updating both anyways and see what happens.
-
you won't spawn one all the time. it is a chance to spawn one.
-
did you have a lapse at all in the last 90 days? in other words, did your accont go inactive(unsubscribed) for a day or so?
-
you have to update to service pack 2 for vista and update your drivers for your video card.
-
Quote:and this is the statement that shows you know nothing of mezzes. give squishies a little mez then up the mez capability of the enemies. you do realize that by doing this it trivializes the mez protection you just gave squishies correct?
Heck, I even stated that if they gave a little mezz protection at the bottom (ie. squishies that have none now) they could actually increase some of the effects of mezzing without crushing the squishies and even make things slightly challenging for people that have high amounts
give up already. the devs will NEVER change the game to suit 1 or 2 people who have decided not to change their tactics when playing on squishy toons. -
tickets are now based on map size i believe.
-
yeah. i'm sure they did that just to break YOUR balls. get over it. they try to pick a time when the least amount of traffic is on so as to not hurt to many peoples play time.
