how? our event isn't called the winter olympics.
  2. first off curb, update all your drivers. then update to service pack 2 for vista. your video drivers look like they were corrupted when installed.
  3. yeah. do not hack or change the game files. it will get you banned faster then you can hit enter to change them. you might want to try asking in the development section of the forums under technical issues and bugs for ideas for this though as you might get more help there.

Cool idea but with the options already available for transporting (in-base porters, O-portal, market, mission, booster pack) I don't see it happening.

    Whats the problem?
ah yes, such a simple solution when you type it. what happens when that isn't what happens? don't assume something would be one way when you actually don't know.
  6. the one thing that is brought up all the time this is suggested is that it will not draw new people to PvP. that is absolutely true. if someone doesn't want to PvP they won't. no matter what carrots you dangle in front of them. if someone does want to PvP then they will. you can not change peoples minds about an aspect of the game.

also as j_s says, it would probably be a nightmare to get working correctly. i'm sure that the devs had this in the back of their heads when they gave us free transfers and that is partially why they have left them as such for now.

Again, this is on behalf of others. I personally luvv AE.
how about just take the 2 mins to explain to people how to put the AE chat in their tabs? then it goes away. not all at once, but as more people find out it will.

So, when you can't reply with facts you rely on sarcasm. Duly noted.
i'm going to stop you right where you are. PvP is around 1-3% of the population of the game. it would be a huge waste of dev time and money to create another server just for this. they would lose money. then the server would be shut down. does that make it clearer for you?

and if they opened it up on the servers they have now, a huge portion of the player base would up and quit. they would lose even more money. then you would not have a game to play. again, does that clear it up for you?

This isnt your problem. No one is getting behind you. You are on a runaway train, and you can't seem to understand MOST people dont have a problem. Only you do.

If you suggest your friends are having problems, Then esplain to them how to log on to the forums, and let THEM come here and voice their opinions. Because You sir, have no opinion on the matter. You are just a long winded hussy, who doesnt know when to stop.

oh no, P_P what did you do? now he will write a 2 page thesis that no one will read because we all know it will be full of... stinky stuffs. hyper will have a heart attack replying to that one. make sure you do your finger exercises and cardio first hyper...i cant saves ya over the interwebs...

WoW's PvP instances are cross server and it works well... but even if they were to do that in CoX how would open world PvP ruin your PvE experience if it's not mandatory? PvP is like AE in that if you want to be involved in it then great if you don't... then it has absolutely no effect on you other than (as has been pointed out) maybe witnessing it which can be entertaining in and of itself.
the problem is as many have already stated... how many people will grief you because you are not flagged for PvP. that and the mechanics are completely different from PvE to PvP. it will just not work at all. and this game is not about PvP. it was not created with PvP. PvP was added in i4 and there weren't many people that wanted to do it then.
  11. the answer is still no. the amount will not be attractive if you make it to small and will only cause major problems if it is to big. i really don't think there is a median here.

the LoTG is not a set bonus. that is why you can have 5 of those and 5 of the 7.5% recharge set bonuses.

i was thinking more like it didn't have any charges but would run out when the mission/arc was over. but that way would be to hard to code. probably more feasable to give it 100 charges. if you run out you just go get another one.

sorry to hear about the troubles. i am glad to hear everything is working out. good to see you again.
  16. actually P_P, it sounds like he is one of these RMT peeps. he is just trying to hide his sales pitch in long, drawn out posts. this would not surprise me as infl/inf can be made hand over fist over feet over leg over bunghole and the RMT sites probably aren't doing so well. the last time i think i got an in-game email, i think it was 1 bil for $17. so obviously they are suffering from people not buying anymore.

i, as well as many others have said, the only way for prices to start coming down is to create more infl/inf sinks that are just interesting enough for people to use but not so attrative as to keep people from doing other things.
  17. damn hyper, did that hurt to put it in one post? i thought i was looking at a new page for min lol.

At least that's what I gathered from it.
    yep.

and the point i am trying to make about destroying everyones hard earned infl/inf that is sitting in bids is this, IT WILL NOT LOWER PRICES OF ANYTHING. there are other things to bid on that are not in game anymore but no one wants those removed, just the things that people are bidding on that don't exsist and haven't dropped on live servers yet. theyseem to think that that will teach the marketeers to stop flipping everything at such high prices, which we all know is not the case, but seem to forget that it is the buyer that sets the price. the AE didn't help things either. all it did was make items even more scarce and cause infl/inf to be almost worhtless.

in order for infl/inf to mean anything again we need more worthwhile sinks in the game. and destroying infl/inf by removing trivial recipes and io's is absolutely NOT the way to do it.
  21. Slope, look, i don't know how long you have been playing the game but PvP is not the seller of this game. and the PvP'ers that left did so after the i13 changes that, for lack of a better description, gutted PvP. that and the fact that the devs did not listen to their input on the changes before they went live. if there are no people going into zones on your server then it is you that needs to pack up and move to a different server. freedom and virtue have the most PvP action. get your friends to move with you.

we have an arena and zones, there is absolutely no need for world PvP. and this is coming from a person who PvP's all the time.
  22. 100% unsigned. and that is just by reading your title. i don't care if it is not mandatory or not. the amount of griefing you would get because you won't fight some 30 yr old with a 2 yr old complex just would not justify it.

I'm not arguing that at all. All I'm pointing out is that an exploit should be closed.

Are you saying that removing all that "stored" inf will not be a sink?
well, since you don't seem to get the concept and have chosen to see the lv 51-53 recipes as never have dropped, never gonna drop and never will drop... i'll just stop right there. i think you get the point of what i was saying in my first post about it in that you don't know that they will never drop. as far as we know the devs could flood the market with them tomorrow. sure i agree that it would be an infl/inf sink, but at what cost to the game? how many people would just up and quit due to this? i think it would be a lot more people then you think. this is why all ideas must be thought out and debated. you can't just say that you don't agree with something so remove it. it doesn't work that way. and if the devs wanted it changed it would have been done already. the end.

Oh wait, you can't because it never happened.

Note that I did not say the were never any level 51+ drops. I know of a few: Single Origins go up to 53 as rewards (rare, but possible), there was a loophole (fixed) where level 51-53 Hamidons were dropped (the developers should have reverted those to 50, but chose not to at the time). Apart from dropped, not crafted, enhancements there are the combined enhancements (special origins and single origins) that cannot be sold on the market due to specific rule changes.

However the level 51+ recipes or crafted IOs simply don't exist as far as the drop system is concerned. Given this, I find it hard to believe that anyone with an ounce of thought would think that the developers would think that people should be able to bid on non-existent items isn't a bug (unintended action). Anyone saying that it IS intended is either self-delusional or lying. If anyone had a single shred of evidence to support the position that it is WAI, it would have come to light since Issue 9. And don't try the blatantly circular argument that "because the developers haven't fixed it, that means it is WAI."
it doesn't matter that one hasn't dropped yet. and just because you see it as an exploit does not mean that it is. why aren't you lobbying against the insps that don't drop any more? or the base salvage that doesn't drop anymore? if they don't drop anymore should they not be taken out of the market to? do you now see why it is useless to try to argue that just because something doesn't drop it should be removed to try to lower prices? it will not work.

as mentioned by a few other people in various threads like this one, we need infl/inf sinks. plain and simple. it might not completely solve the problem but it will help to alleviate it a little.

actually just you fail. there are lv 53 things that drop that can be sold on the market. it was alot easier in coding with having all lv 53 things instead of trying to code in for certain things. and as of now, you have no idea if the devs plan on adding these lv 53 things that don't exsist yet into the game. so, again, it is NOT an EXPLOIT. it is wai. deal with it.
