That system benefits the seller and "shafts" the buyer.

I disagree that system based on hiding information is fairer than system providing information.

Listing valuable item for throwaway price puts you at risk that someone buys it at that price in absence of high bidders. Having best bid information will exclude such risk, so you can avoid listing you valubales unless you have sufficient funds to do it.

Another solution can be folding listing fees into transaction fees.

You already have this information. If you have bids on item then you can reliably sell it for 1 inf, if you have item offered, you can reliably buy it for 2B.

    Why? How?
how about /unsigned. the market is not a store. it is not a market. it is an auction/consignment house. for the love of god, stop using it as a store. place a bid and go walk away and do a mish or 2 and your bid should fill or you may drop what you needed.

also, if the bids are not what a player thinks is high enough to sell on the market it will go off market. this will hurt everyone.

I am gonna have to get more levels, and believe me I am not gonna go get new contacts and see the new story lines I am gonna PL my toons to 60 and then check out the new SFs, but then I am gonna have to get new builds for all of my Toons... Does that sound like fun NO WAY!!! LOL I think it would be awesome if we could get some new Strike Forces before they raise cap.

For me this game is all about the people. I tried STO and one thing I hated was the auto teams I like this you can find you friend say hey wanna team? You are not just thrown together probly with a team that will not finish a mission that has a tough AV. LOL So the thought of Auto teams YUCK... I like nothing more than comming into this game jumping in coalition chat and doing SFs with my SG mates.

That is what this game is all about for me Friends and fun. Some people enjoy PVP some enjoy Missions. I personally could spend an entire day on my 50s that I have played OVER AND OVER Doing SFs. I can't wait for going rogue.... I have no 50 Heros and it would be fun to try out some of the Hero SFs. We need more content not more levels.
Fixt for the WALL OF TEXT... it hurts the eyes.

Of course, it could pretty easily be argued that comparing newspaper grinds to WoW questing is also apples to oranges.

And why would you call BS on the Dungeon Finder? It exists, it works, and I've found it to be handy for when I want to team, even on the legion I have sub-60.
i 4th the BS call now that sol beat me to thirding it. i tried WoW and found that after the 10 day trial i still had not hit the level cap for trials. adn i was on vacation the whole time and played up to 6 hrs a day. now , i know i didn't have access to all the neat little tricks and stuff, but it takes less time to reach 50 in CoX then it does in WoW. and that is with no exploits at all. and no power leveling.

    password bug

then you have to verify files. if it still does it, then uninstall the game and reinstall it. i also don't care that it says you should turn off your virus/spyware protection while installing. DO NOT do this. you will most likely end up with a lot of bad stuff on your comp that you do not want.

there is no possible way if all the files are correct for CoX that you should be able to log in with a different/slightly modified password. the only way to log into the game with a different password is if you went to your master account and changed the game password.

For example. a restriction on reselling of goods that have already passed through the market or an interplayer trade would make being a marketer considerably more difficult. For clarity, I'm not saying I think that's a good idea; the ramifications are certainly not obvious.
the biggest problem with this is, how does the game know that what you are putting up for sale hasn't been put through the market yet or vise versa? it can't.

the simple solution is for everyone who is using the market as an "IWANTITNAO!" source to stop doing that, place a reasonable bid and wait. i think that the problem lies in the name that is being used which is "market" which implies store. that lies in fault with the red side. the blue side name doesn't imply a store. it implies an auction/consignment house. of course, if people that complained used the market both ways, both selling what they drop that they don't need/won't use and placing bids on things instead of buying it now, we wouldn't be having these discussions.
  7. aside from the fact that the devs said there would never be another level increase after 50, i will say that whoever thinks adding more levels to the game will make it more interesting have never actually watched what happens when the new levels are introduced. what happens is, people power level through them and hit cap again and then after a month or so start whining that they want more levels. or the causal gamer never has anytime to get to the max level which makes them feel alienated and they soon leave the game.

if you want to play a game where level increases are what interests you then go to the other games that do that. this game is all about the "casual" player. it has a level cap which can be reached by normal game play and not tedious grinding. it doesn't require the best loot to play. it doesn't require you to run back to your dead body 50 miles away with the hopes that no one stole your stuff.
  8. sounds great and all until a virus get put into the costume codes online and a player downloads them. not a good idea at all. just sayin...

thats right, becasue it is not recommended to use the same password for everything.
  10. does it help to squash this thread with, even though it has been said a couple times already, the devs have stated that it was a mistake to have things unlock at 50. i mean, if you can't trust a red name answer, then who can you trust.
  11. even if they switched it to a currency, you honestly don't think that people would farm that? then that just makes the cost of them rise more.

with the drop method, there doesn't seem to be as much effort as if there were a currency system. and with a currency system, not everyone has a chance to get a drop. specifically the casual PvP'er. with the drop system, he can go into PvP and kill someone and chance getting a drop on his first kill. with a currency system, he would have to make several kills over a period of time to random roll for one.

i can see how a currency system would intice people to PvP more, but i think the drop method works fine, just needs to be adjusted.

edit: no snark meant to any of you if my post sounded that way at the start.

Allowing players to keep playing CoH1 (along with any new bits of content added to it) wouldn't be such a terrible idea. And offering both lifetime and monthly subscriptions would be a sound business decision in that case, as the money coming in from CoH2 would help to offset the cost to maintain the server farm, if nothing else.

    -Rachel-

Edit: I should also note that the money coming in from the Lifetime Subs to CoH1 would help to offset the CoH2 development costs. And you would still, likely, have players playing CoH1 on a monthly subscription basis, as well. If only due to the minimum system requirements of newer and newer games.
yeah, my "ever" was a little strong. if they do make a CoX2 then sure, at the release of CoX2 they can offer them for a limited time to CoX.
  13. then what? purples next? i do agree that there is a severe lack of supply of PvP io's but the only way for them to fix it would be to up the drop rate back to what it was when they first came out in i13. plain and simple. well, that or just remove the damn 10 min timer.
  14. yeah, then call the manufacturer of the card. it may need to be replaced. but, depending on how long you have had it for, you may be able to do so fo free with the warranty.
  15. for the last time, unless you took buisness classes from teletubbies or one of those other shows for 2 yr olds, an ongoing game offering lifetime subs after running for so long either screams dying game or points everyone in that direction. if they want to offer them for CoX2, fine. but absolutely, possitively not for CoX. ever.
  16. if you can, try to update the video drivers. that may help.
  17. venture over to virtue and pay a bunch of ERP'ers to act out The Wizard of Oz as a porno...

but no seriously, i would use it to make more and io out some of my toons that need it.
  18. easiest work around is to pull eveything to the bridge then go for the comp and av's or start from the back with the comp and av's first then move backwards through the map.

  20. this is way to re-draw heavy. set something up with one of the various weapons and maybe.

yeah, check that first. you might just ahve to pick up a new power supply. i picked up a 600w for around 60 bucks i think.
  22. i'm using a 9800gt and have no problems running the game. do a CoH helper report and post it here so we can see your comp specs. also, if your power supply isn't pushing 26amps from the 12volt rail, it wont work. how big is your power supply?

Ok fair enough. Yet if they have never played the game, how would the content not be new to them?
it really has nothing to do with the content so much as how much longer is the game going to go on in their minds. for a game that has already established itself, it would make absolutely no buisness sense to offer lifetime subs. if they make a CoX2 then go all for it at the begining for like a month. then cut it off. but absolutely not in this version of CoX.

i seriously think you may want to compare the amount of people that PvP to the amount of people that PvE and then adjust the drop rates accordingly. there will never be a supply with both types of players gunning for them on the markets. with probably 60% of the 95% off the PvE'rs wanting them and around 5% or less of the community PvP'ing to get these, the drop rates need to be adjusted. not so as to make them to easy, but to at least get more showing up on the market then there are currently.

i appologize if i sound rude, but this is a problem that does need to be addressed. i also know that those are not actual numbers, but from what i can tell they are a close representation.

Ultra-rare obviously isn't intended to mean off-market sales at 2x the inf cap or more. Just like common/uncommon/rare is reflected in market prices for items that are already purhcasable with merits, the same can be true for ultra-rare.
and we all know how castle handled PvP...please do not let him get involved in the market.

and one of the devs stated, i believe, that they did not want purples purchasable this way. ever. they are meant to be ultra rare which means hard to come by which means a time sink for people so they play the game longer. makes perfect buisness sense. what he is refering to is PvP io's, the drop rates on those do need to be looked at as the population that is trying to feed the market with them is sooooooooo small.
