could take a few hours or a few days. depends on how much action is going on. and rep degrades at 1 point per hour i think. been a while since i've checked.
-
/unsigned. for various reasons. the main one being that it is not worth dev time.

Quote:look, there is no way this should be added to the game. deal with it. as for shooting down ideas, have you read any of them? or maybe should i ask, do you know what a debate is?From any programmer's, author's, scientist's, etc. point of view, the more voices/opinions/numbers you have for any particular subject the better. I know I (and others) ask 5 people to read my research paper before I actually submit it. I'm sure you do the same. The same's true for many fields. It gives any professional another source from which they can make a decision.
On other side about this idea is it gives the programmers of CoX an unbiased vote base. Yes, they use this forum for ideas, but I have to say, if you post any idea that isn't flashy or full of fun new stuff! It's going to be shot down by every single d***ed critic on this website.
A poll would make it simple. Here's the idea: Now vote on it. No bickering, no discussion. Just straight up numbers. The main point is to get opinions that aren't tainted or shot down by critics or opposers of any idea.
Also, let me stress this point again:
The poll would in no way be binding to the developers. If 95% of voters say they want farming again, the developers could easily say no and move on.
not everyone has good ideas, but when something comes along that is decent, it is met with other ideas that can flesh it out and make it better. then there are the totaly bad ideas that are comletely destroyed becuase they will harm the game. plus, i don't think people really want to be taking polls everytime they log in or everytime a dev a dev comes up with an idea. that can get really annoying and drive people from the game -
Quote:still not a good idea. this is not "our" game. it is their game. also the devs do not want to much info getting out way to early about updates because so much can change. it is always a good idea to keep people guessing for a while as to what is coming out. that is what keeps people playing. and castle "says" he has not finished with PvP and that the past changes were the start of a "new" PvP system.Just as a quick informal followup, the main advantage to this idea would be the continued and ongoing success of this game. I think that, a lot of the time, ParagonStudios is just fishing in the dark when they make updates. Not everybody who plays the game uses the forums, however everybody who plays the game will be a line of text away from voicing their opinion. That sounds like a wider opinion base to me. City of Heroes / Villians is a small community, so ParagonStudios can not afford to make arbitrary decisions that will alienate their customers. Games like WoW and others may be able to get away with it, but due to the small number of subscribers, the voices of the players must be heard for the game's essential survival.
The other list of changes this update would cause are wide, however the large upsides are listed below:
- Wider range of opinions
- Sneak-Peeks to future updates
- Democracy styled governance (more opinions heard)
- Better customer based anchoring (the more content you know is going to be changed, the more likely you will keep playing)
- Increase in player approval. (IE: No messups such as the PvP gimp) -
politics seriously does not belong in a game that is for fun. and if anyone wants to gather data about what people want they can come to this section of the forums.
-
pay attention to the orange numbers that pop up over the enemies head. there will be a second or third number that pops up along with your regular damage numbers.
or you can do the easy thing and watch your combat chat. -
Quote:this is not data to support your claims.
I should have also mentioned that it doesn't just happen to me. It happens to most if not all of the people that I have talked to. That means it's server side.
as for the itf lag hill, pull the enemy down to the first bridge. no lag.
as for crashing, try /unloadgfx after a few missions and see if that helps. -
go into the archetype section and PvP section of the forums and there are all sorts of builds there to work with.
and yes, PvP is completely different from PvE now thanks to the i13 changes. -
the global server does this from time to time. do not worry about it. it will return.
-

Priest/Nunn badge:
you have successfuly sat through Silver Mantis's dialogue without thinking about perverted things 1 time. -
could always, and i know this sounds bad, start your own private sg and store your stuff there.
-
i run wireless. and the only problem i have has been around since before i17. i loose band width because i am on an unsecure connection and when someone else turns on and gets on the connection and downloads stuff i lag and rubberband. notice i said "before i17". i haven't noticed anything else new at all. just seems like regular old new issue glitches to me.
-
it is not CoH doing anything to your comp. get a wired modem card for your comp and try it then. if no problems, it may be your wireless card. and post a CoHHelper report and HijackThis report. it will help us help you.

Quote:the cape missions were changed back in i16.
Ah, thanks. That's a helpful clue. I thought the only new i17 missions were those new 20-29 arcs and the taskforce update, so it's good to know there's more new content, too! -
i have a feeling the devs need to roll back to the original market interface and forget about this new interface all together.
-
what i would suggest is doing a disc clean up and defrag. then shutting down your comp, then doing a modem and router reset by unplugging all power supplies, disconnect the cable from modem to router, wait 1 min then reconnect the modem to router cable, plug in the modem then wait 30 secs, then plug in the router and wait 30 secs, then turn on your comp and see what happens.
-
try a disc clean and defrag. if that doesn't work, then you may want to store alot of things from your hard drive to a disc or flash drive and clean out all of the files you do not need anymore. this will free up space on your hard drive as 9% is very far on the low scale. you should have at least 25% available.

Quote:i'm gonna sneak this in before anyone else does...Im telling u that I had a bunch of really expensive sets.. orange lettered special sets. that were mixed up and slotted like sorrocco ( of course wrong spelling). all the Mako bite stuff. Orange handcuff looking enhancements. every thing i had was some type of special enhancement.. Did u ever see the purple enhancement that u can only use as 1 slot. I think its for a pet. check the black market. some of things cost 50 million a pop. this was one of my early toons that i used and didnt know what half the stuff meant was just trying to get bigger overall bonuses.. 168 million at least i should of gotten back... go to the black market recipes for enhancements are very very expensive. 50 SO's are for rookies...
before you leave, can i has your stuffs?
now, learn about the game before you make mistakes like this. it's as easy as coming here and asking a few questions. -
Quote:no matter how many times you change the flavor, diaper, sauce, looks, or anything like that, the answer is no, was no and always will be no.Ok, we've heard of the whole full respec thing before.
This is a proposal to make it actually work.
What I want is essentially a reroll while keeping badges and souvenirs. In other words it is just like the current option (rerolling) but there is no issue with badges deterring you from doing it, and people who want an AT respec can feel like they can do so, without interfering with the alt incentive. -
-
go to nvidia.com and search for the newest driver for your card. it will ask for your operating system so it can make sure you have the right version also.
-
take your attitude somewhere else please. you mis-read what you were getting back when you did your respec. not only that, but if you had stuff you wanted to keep, you should have. the levels of an io(generic or set) do not really matter after 30. so i suggest you sit down, shut up and learn about how things work before doing them.
