Karl Rove Man would have helped write the act. Of course, he would know all the loopholes and use them to his advantage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Karl, this actually works beautifully.I will PM you with my email addy if you would not mind sending me Karl's costume file and info?
-
I just tried this out on Test and the emotes and costume change emotes make it worth every penny
Ok, I have to admit the Icon Cosmetic Surgeon is pure win. I can finally make toons that are normal size, then drink a "super serum" and become Mini!!! -
Does Triumph have an "Illuminati"-type contingent of our more "famous" (and "old-timer") characters?
If so, what character(s) of ours do you feel would be in it? -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, registration helps to keep tabs on hero's powers that have a potential to go out of whack, such as in Faultline or Siren's Call.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or in the event they "Go Rogue".
I'm not an expert on CoX lore either, but I agree with you that toons in the CoX universe are "registered" with their factions from the start. I don't know if that includes having to reveal any secret identities or not. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not certain about the lore for CoH, but aren't the heroes already registered? If not then I'd be all for keeping a secret identity and doing whatever necessary to maintain it. Some back stories would undoubtedly include the hero/villian not having a secret identity; at that point the morals of the character would determine their side. I would say most villains would register, as more having been arrested multiple times wouldn't have much of a secret identity left; not like they couldn't go bad later anyways.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very interesting point to bring up - the morality of a character and how that would determine what side they choose.
Makes me think of Dr. Hamilton from Star Labs on the Superman/JLU cartoons. You always thought he was a good guy... then you see him as one of the primaries in Project Cadmus. And yet, did this make him evil? -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, it's a male name. It kinda looks like you were useing it as a last name but every Jameson I know it's their first name and they're all male.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know after reading the responses to your comment here I can understand why you may have thought this. I guess the name automatically makes people think of J. Jonah Jameson, hence the thought the character should be male. It does not hurt to change it to something else. Although for the record I do know of a famous woman with the last name of "Jameson". Linking to further details about her is most likely not permitted on these forums. LOL!
[ QUOTE ]
Maybe I should pay closer attention to the dialog.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes IIRC he says something to the effect of "Ouch! That hurt!" when you first find him slumped over and surrounded by enemies in the mission. The premise is he had been defeated and is going to the medics similar to others in the mission. The final clue of the arc is supposed to get you thinking of why he runs off. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hasn't a similar theme to Civil War already happened in the CoX Universe ?
The Might for Right act, and subsequent repeal is really what Im thinking about, but Im not 100% famialiar withe the whole Civil War stuff to be sure.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know what you are thinking of and in some ways the The Might for Right Act is similar to the Mutant Registration or Superhero Registration Act from Marvel, the major difference being the events that precipitated them and the legal requirements.
The MFRA was essentially a mandatory draft of superhumans into service - they had no choice or say in the matter. The SHRA was somewhat more flexible in offering the option of becoming a paid government employee.
I'm not sure about the CoX lore when it comes to each of our characters having ID cards. It is my understanding that our "alter egos" are registered and not the secret identity (if they have one).
And yes, it would indeed make a great backdrop for a MA story, wouldn't it?This is kinda why I was asking people what side their toon would choose.
-
I had been reading a few articles over the past few days reviewing the return of Steve Rogers as Captain America and it got me to thinking about his assassination in the finale of the "Civil War" storyline.
We all have beloved characters of our own here on CoX, be they villain or hero, and each of them has their own unique background of who they are and how they came to be.
My question is this; if the events of "Civil War" had happened within the CoX world, which side would your toon have chosen? Would they have been for or against registration with the government and why?
If your favorite toon is a hero, would they have fought other heroes to defend their position? If a villain, would they have opted for registration in exchange for amnesty or would they have remained rogue operatives?
I'm curious how each of you would see your favorite character choosing a side in this. And yes, there is a reason I am asking. -

Arc Name: The Hero Who Loved Me
Arc ID: 232417
Levels: 45-50
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Jade-Star
Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis: During a Rikti assault on Paragon City, a legendary hero goes missing. You must team up with Turbo Starr and unravel a mystery that may have deadly ramifications for Paragon City!
I'd appreciate feedback on this arc. I want to make sure the clues and dialogue are understandable, so any comments on maps/story parts is appreciated!
When you play it, pay close attention to the clues and character dialogue, as well as what transpires throughout the story. It is intended as a prologue to a much larger story that will be continued in future arcs.
I hope you will find it fun. It has a little bit of everything, and not everything is what it seems
Feedback is appreciated and feel free to PM me with questions or comments.
Thanks!

I had a post wrighten out and then lost it. Anyway I sent you the basics of what I wrote in game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for trying out my arc and taking the time to send comments.
I had a couple of questions about your comments on it;
1. The character of Lt. Jameson in mission 1 - you said that this character should be male? I am just curious if whether the character is male or female makes any difference.
2. "Hero Reinforcements" (ie. Captain Amazing) runs away when rescued in mission 1 - Yes, he does run off, but this is due to him being wounded and heading to the infirmary. His dialogue when you find him says that he got hurt. The mission contact does say that "other heroes are responding" when you first speak to him and accept the mission. Captain Amazing is not intended to be an ally for the mission itself, as there is a reason for him to run off after you save him (beyond being wounded). His reasoning fits into what transpires in the 3rd mission and more importantly, the mission complete clue of mission 5. I'm curious if you read the clue or it did not make sense?
Thanks again for running the arc and providing your feedback! -

Can I volunteer to auction myself to single women IRL who play CoH? -

LOL I already have some RL minis that miss their Daddy a bunch.

You can still make minis without ... you know, making minis. I think that makes sense, right? -

I'm sure "more content" and "more villain content" are also somewhere on the Things the Community Has Been Begging For list
[/ QUOTE ]
They have been since I've been here (60 months in July).
The game has not had any new zones or zone revamps in a while. They have to start adding something in to pull people out of the AE. -

[ QUOTE ]
Still, regardless of how much interest any one individual may or may not have in this particular feature, it's something the community as a whole has been begging for at least as long as I can remember. Given the amount of work that probably had to be done just to get us a "simple" change of hue for the entire powerset, it makes me happy to see they were working on this.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with this sentiment. I just really want to see more content. TFs, raids, GMs, Events.
Whatever. Just more content. Scratch that. More content that is engaging and new. Again, especially for villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
I could not agree more, especially when it comes to villain content. Lack of content is the main thing that has kept me from really playing redside.
I'd love to see some Galactus type GMs! Would be fun to have hundreds of people fighting a REAL GM!
The game needs some serious "epic" content too... stuff with huge battles, massive invasions, killer robots and other spiffy stuff. Kind of like this but in a superhero format.
P.S. We need pet Monkeys that do Cobra Strike too. -
I agree and I'd also love to see ambushes where we can select who will be spawned in the ambush. It kind of stinks to create a custom group of individual characters, then have multiple copies of them show up.
-
Congrats Fanci! I can't imagine what it must be like to have a loved one away like that.
I'm very happy for you both and that he is returning home safely to you. Now you can make some RL minis! -
[ QUOTE ]
For example, instead of walking in on the two groups as they're negotiating, you could intercept one of the groups as it's on its way.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is what I have now and it works ok, just not what I had envisioned for the story. I had wanted the player to "walk in and interrupt" as they were talking. Instead, I opted that they arrive just after negotiations were finished. -
I am no expert with the MA, so my apologies if this is a simple question.
I'm trying to add a "stop the negotiations" type scenario (think missions where you have to "Stop the Weapons Deal" etc.) into an arc, but finding the available tools for this limited.
I've tried adding 2 bosses/surrounding enemy groups into a room, but the dialogue does not always work properly when you enter said room and depending on the map, it is either impossible (due to spawn location) or size. Sometimes, my "negotiators" show up clear across a large room. From an immersion standpoint, this doesn't work - they would be shouting at each other from across the room.
I've also tried using the "Add Battle" option, but this does not allow you to necessarily pick the characters you want, like having Nemesis "negotiating" with Nosferatu.
Is there a better way of achieving this?
I'd like to see this become a feature in the MA, similar to how the "Add Battle" feature works, only allow you to choose specific people instead of an entire group.
Thanks in advance for any help! -
