    You don't want to be on a team that needs those to complete the TF or SF. If they believe those things are mandatory, then they are doing it wrong or just plain lazy.

    Shivans/nukes are not needed for to them.

    In my latest AE arc, I have a timed mission in which you need to rescue 5 people from an office building before it collapses.

    The editor reports no errors anywhere in my arc. Yet, every time I test this mission, it fails a few seconds after I rescue the first person. I save them, they thank me and run off, then about 5-10 seconds later I'm booted out and told Mission Failed!

    I have no clue what is causing this. Is it a bug I'm unaware of?

    I'm not certain if this is related, but I've noticed quite a few arcs that when entering, you are given the "You cannot enter" pop-up note just before you are zoning in. I'm also seeing that allies are not behaving properly. If set to follow, they follow for a while, then stand in one spot and don't move and wind up getting "lost". Spawn points on maps seem to be out of whack too.

    All of these combined, I'm inclined to think its a bug. /bug it or petition it... they may know of something causing the issue.

    Yes, it will redraw. Any of the attacks in the pool sets (air superiority, flurry etc.) will do that.

    I have always taken kick on my tankers simply for humor reasons. Most all of my tanks are small and due to their height, it looks like they are kicking the baddies in the "family jewels". Plus, when the knockback lands from kick, I just find it funny especially when it makes the target fall off a bridge or ledge.

    Yes I am aware. You're still very limited in what you can use. Try making custom groups with more than 2 minions, 2 Lt.s, 2 Bosses, 2 EBs and an AV. It still takes up a lot of space.

    Just playing devil's advocate here...

    You made the choice to move to a more populated server. During double xp weekends, that server tends to reach capacity and you know you will have difficulty logging in. That's a consequence of your choice.

    Also, suppose they increase the capacity, and the new limit gets reached and the server goes gray? What then? There will be complaints regardless of what the developers do.

    Lastly, just as there are thousands who enjoy being on a populated server, there are thousands who enjoy lower-population servers. Not having a grayed-out server on double xp weekends is a benefit to that.

  13. Not entirely a "lore" question per say, but something I've been wondering about in terms of "characterization".

    My question is two-fold:

    Question:

    1. According to CoX lore, the Freedom Phalanx carried on their normal duties during the events of the
    Might For Right Act. Does this mean the Freedom Phalanx agreed with the mandatory service required (or "draft") on this or did they just not know about the abuses going on?

    2. This part is more "what if" - suppose the events of Civil War (or something similar) took place in the CoX universe today. Which side would the Freedom Phalanx choose? Would they all be a united front for one side or the other? Or would there be some dissension among them?

    Some MA ideas

    Just a couple of ideas I had for improving the Mission Architect system. I realize some have workarounds already, but I wanted to post this to throw the ideas out there.

    **New Features:**

    New Mission Detail - "Prevent Negotiation(s)"
    I envision this working by combining the available options for "Fight A Boss" and "Add Battle". It would allow us to create scenarios where more than one faction (probably limit to 2 factions like the "Add Battle" allows) are negotiating with the other without having to use up two "Add Boss" options and finding a map that allows for 2 boss spawns in the same location.


    "Be Introduced to New Contact"
    When we complete a story arc outside of AE, our contacts introduce us to someone new. I've run quite a few story arcs in AE that continue a larger story in another arc. It would be nice to have an option to have the contact for one arc "introduce you" to the next contact so you do not have to return to the terminal and search for the next one in the chain. I am thinking all that would be required here is a single field to enter the next arc ID into.


    Special Multi-Objective Boss Spawns
    It would be nice to be able to create a scenario similar to the end of the Statesman's Task Force where you have to defeat Lord Recluse's gang in order for him to spawn. Limit it to perhaps 4 or 5 required objectives that have to be completed before a boss spawns.


    "Generic" skins for existing maps
    It would be great to see a few of the existing maps (like Arachnos and Council) available generically skinned without the group logos on them. This is mainly for immersion purposes when creating "secret lairs" or "bases" for custom groups.

    Alternatively, perhaps allow us to select a map and then select the "skin for it". So, for example, instead of having options for "Warehouse - City of Heroes" and "Warehouse - City of Villains", just have the option for "Warehouse" and then let the author pick a "regular" or "abandoned" skin.

    Defensive Objects
    These could work similar to collection objects, only be "defensive" type weaponry as seen in the faction bases of Bloody Bay or at the Council base in Striga. For example; wall turretts that pop-out after completing a "collection item".


    **Enhancements:**

    Colored text for required Collection objectives
    I've seen many, many story arcs that try to do this, but wind up using an inordinate amount of text to explain what color they have specified as mandatory for collection objects and what is not. This should be done automatically in the objectives listing on screen.


    Character(s) selection for ambushes
    It would be nice to be able to select an individual (or perhaps up to 3) individual characters from a group to spawn as an ambush. Sometimes, you may only want Statesman to show up to "save the day" or Lord Recluse to "spoil your plans". It is very immersion breaking to use an existing group or create a custom group intended to be individual characters, but have multiple copies of the same person show up for an ambush.


    Improve the Collection Item option
    It would be nice to set the text for clue found and clue not found within the same Collection object. When adding a collection item, if I want to create 6 wall safes to check, the first one will contain the clue and correct "you found it!" text, while the others will also show the same "you found it!" text. The editor should allow for this as a single option without having to use many "collections" to the story.


    Patrol/Battle Dialogue selection
    When creating a mission where there is more than one copy of a patrol, they will all use the same dialogue. If we set up a 5th Column patrol option and set the amount to 5, either allow us to choose how many of those 5 we would want to say the dialogue or allow us to choose separate dialogue for them. Right now, if we want to set different dialogue for them, we have to add multiple patrol options. The same applies to "Add Battle" and enemy groups surrounding objects.


    Expanded Use of Custom Characters
    Can the method for how custom character data is stored be made more efficient to use less file space? The character creator is a feature that truly sets this game apart from others; it's sad we can't make better use of them in the MA system.

    Alternatively, perhaps offer increased file sizes as a purchaseable item from the NCSoft store?

  19. I've noticed the spawn points not working even prior to i15. Maps which clearly allow for spawns in a given area will periodically not spawn properly. If set to "Back", the boss spawns in the "Middle".

    I've also noticed that allied ambushes do not work properly. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I had /bugged both of these issues some time before i15 went live.

    While showing the map locations is nice, it would be much better to allow us to set the locations ourselves by clicking a point on the map.

    I've noticed this in MA created content as well. While fun to watch the fireworks show, it causes issues with any NPC allies set to follow. They won't move off until the explosion cycle ends.
  22. Just verified that Turbo is set to follow/fight defensive for all missions and has been toned down to be a boss.

    I'm running the arc now to make sure he is working as he should. Incidentally, I've found a cute little bug in i15 here... the Rikti Drones keep re-appearing, then exploding once destroyed.

    Yes I agree and I would love to include everyone in what I am doing. Unfortunately, the MA file size restrictions prevent a person from using too many custom characters.

    I was mainly looking for characters from our favorite toons - not the players themselves - who would fit the bill of being a member of an "Illuminati" type group in the fictional CoX world.

    I'm going to try and include everyone like I did with "World War Mini"... I'll just have to switch the characters around and re-publish the arc periodically.

    If you run "The Hero Who Loved Me", you'll want to pay close attention to Turbo's dialogue when he explains why he and Jade had a falling out. It will come into play later.

    I've been testing out a few things here and there to see how they will work in the forthcoming story. Let me tell you, having to fight Emerald Fusion, Ghost Widow, Scirocco, Captain Mako and Sister Psyche all at once makes for some serious ouches.

    You're all going to love the Psi Blast/WP AV!! Which I might add when I first tested it pwned my tank and my posse of Statesman (3 shot him lol), Back Alley Brawler, Positron, Citadel, Black Scorpion, Scirocco and Lord Recluse. Who was left standing? Ghost Widow!

    I wish we were better able to incorporate custom characters into MA arcs. The file size limitations can really stifle creating characters to do this IMO.

    He shouldn't anymore. I changed him Saturday to tone him down. He's just a Boss now set to follow/fight defensive.

    Mini Turbo is just nuts
