Quote:I very much hope the content for this goes beyond "Go here and defeat all, then go here and defeat all some more, then go and defeat X AV".The system will be called be Incarnate system (many CoH players should be familiar with this) and it will consist of new content and special Incarnate levels that confer new abilities to your character.
If this lets me solo the STF, then it will be pure awesome. -
You all needed The Incredible Mini and her super awesomeness. I might have to hop on this weekend and punch stuff. The "Shatner roll" in STO is fun, but its no KO Blow for sure.

Quote:I made Mon'Kee last night after you logged... terror of the Klingon Empire!Klingon MonKee scares me.....I mean come on a pantless Klingon MonKee commanding a starship?
Wait until you see him. He is a masterpiece, especially with his pet Targ.
Sorry to hear you all didn't get the MITF last night. -
Are ye daft man?! The new patch is out for STO today!! I can get another couple of character slots... I can make MonKee as a toon with an all MonKee crew!
Wait until you see my versions of a Klingon MonKee and Mirror Universe MonKeeThe Klingon one kinda looks like Sun IRL.

Well, I was hoping to surprise you all and hop on CoH to come along.
I had high hopes for MonKee when I requested his assignment to the ship. Sadly, despite MonKee's assurances of "great progress" in repairs to his aforementioned "improvements", they seem to have now resulted in the star of my favorite Vulcan Love Slave holodeck program being replaced by what I can only describe as a horrific convergence of Roseanne Barr and Ernest Borgnine.
As much as I dislike doing so, I believe I will have to put a reprimand in his permanent record for this "incident" - possibly even demote him in rank. However, to be fair, he at least was able to get the smell out of the ship from his last tinkering fiasco.
I hope none of you ever have to experience the smell of Cardassian Yamok sauce... -

I would go, but MonKee and I were ordered by Starfleet Command to patrol sector Zeta Reticuli 02091 Alpha in response to several reports that the Borg were setting up a staging area within the system.
He is also confined to the ship until he fixes his "improvements" to the antimatter injection assembly and EPS distribution conduits which he promised would "improve the pew pew factor of our forward Tetryon cannons by 110%!", but instead made the replicator replace my delicious morning coffee with what can only be described as a blend of Cardassian Yamok sauce, aged Havarti cheese, Tulaberries and Bosco.
Be glad you can't smell it... trust me on this one... -
Most of mine were Mini Foley toons of some kind.
I remember deleting Robin Foley (MA/SR) - Foley had BatFoley
I had a Mini AR/Dev blaster Lil Bang Bang that I just couldn't get into playing at all
I had deleted the original Mini Starwoman (INV/SS) after they nerfed the crap out of INV and changed the aggro cap a long time ago. It simply wasn't fun to herd the entire Perez zone anymore after that. I did re-roll her eventually as Stone/Axe -

Quote:Not so much anymore since the free 30 days is up and all the l33t, disenfranchised WoW crybabies left.Time to thread jack. Sorry all.
But.. the STO boards are kind of hostal.
Quote:Question, was it just you and a friend when you did this or did you have a full team? (or were you solo?)
Quote:And any advice on tactics would be awsome. If you don't want to reply in this tread, PM me if you wouldn't mind. I'd really appreactie the help.
Part II: There are two types of Borg mobs in the station - stationary (around the nodes) and patrols. You can pull the patrols to clear them before hitting the node campers. Take out the nodes first to prevent ludicrous amounts of Borg reinforcements, clearing your way to the first Boss. Always destroy the nodes first whenever you see them!
Part III: Defeat the first Borg boss - pretty much a straight fight.
Part IV: On the final room, have 2 people provide cover fire while the other 3 do the Mario hop around to deactivate the force field units in the corners. Some things to keep in mind here ...
a. Use melee attacks to KB the drones into the acid. This is faster and more effective than shooting them to death while trying to deactivate the corner fields.
b. This is where Engineers are helpful. If they keep dropping phaser turrets/force field generators, the Borg will be mad and shoot at those instead of you. It buys you some time.
Part V: Once all the forcefields around the corners are down, upload the virus and the shield protecting the center thingy comes down. When it does, shoot it until it goes boom and the BQ will come out. Shoot her until she dies. We've found picking a corner to spawn her helps provide some cover from the drones that keep respawning. Having a Science officer here helps to debuff her and to buff you. Science powers can also spam exposes very quickly, so you'll have a better chance of getting/landing several critical shots to kill her quickly. She can do silly amounts of damage (1 to 2 shot you).
In terms of fighting the Borg ships... Science BOs and having a Science toon goes a long way. My Tactical/Escort toon does ok with Jam Sensors/Science Team II only (I've taken out 2 Borg cubes soloing), but my Science toon has much more powerful control powers at her disposal. -

My First Officer, Lt. Commander MonKee ("Monkey") and my crew managed to have a very productive weekend.
Some of our noteworthy adventures in the Final Frontier;
- We managed to save the "Infected" Commander and crew of Starbase 82 from the Borg.
- We also discovered MonKee is resilient to assimilation, and giving him a BFG 9000 full-auto disruptor that is twice his size is absolutely hysterical.
- We went back in time through the Guardian of Forever and saved Shatner from the Klingons... then Shatner seduced my Orion Tactical Officer babe.
- We discovered the fun of the following formula (Viral Matrix + Heavy Yield Plasma Torpedo against a ship with no shields = major boom boom).
- MonKee's first attempt at Tribble breeding was not a pretty sight...
- We explored some strange new worlds, but if we got the mission to "Aid the Planet", we snickered to each other saying "F them!", then warped out of the system.
- We discovered that it is not wise to feed MonKee Ferengi Tube Grubs...
- We sent in a report to Starfleet Xenobiology Division to inquire why Klingons would drop Banana Splits when you shot them...
- We got cussed out big time for defeating two Klingons who thought they would gank us in a PvP encounter.
- We decided we hate the Developer who designed the Cardassian Keldon's and their poopy Photonic Galors.
- I discovered that you can sell Bridge Officers on the exchange, so I am going to create an army of MonKees to begin infecting the game.
- We decided the Commander level Science ships look like bumble bees.

We had about 5 gagillion feet of snow here between Thursday and Friday last week so I was home and I went nuts. The story episodes at Captain and Admiral are fun!
I'll have to get an away mission so you can see Monkey with his Bat'leth. It's so funny! -
Quote:Not entirely true. Costume changes cost influence, if you have no free tokens for them. Buying items on the market costs influence. You can turn in influence for Prestige. Buying enhancements every few levels costs influence. Personally, I also spread the wealth to alts to outfit them with IO sets. This game has -zero- in-game currency sinks right now, and it's becoming more apparent by the day that it's needed.
If their idea for endgame content is an IO that is going to cost me more over time than entire IO sets for a toon, I'm hesitant to think it is a good thing. If it is going to cost a ton of money, they better have ludicrous level buffs to them or the Devs need to go back to the drawing board and come up with something fun. I have to say, the idea of a deteriorating enhancement does not sound very appealing to me. -
Glad you had a great trip! You picked a good time for it with all the snow we've had
You missed Monkey and I saving the Federation from the Borg! We went back in time to wolf 359 too! -
I am feeling like the only player who kept Cobra Strike
It is nice to have for the IO set bonuses on certain builds... I keep it mostly for the KB IO Proc.Seeing baddies go flying from CS is funny to me.

War Witch was referring to content for the upcoming issues this year, outside of GR where she said content was the main focus for the next several updates. I'm hoping this meant story arcs/TFs/SFs and not just new badges.
-
Same here. I'm waiting to see War Witch deliver on her statements of "content, content and more content". So far, I see only 2 new story arcs for mid-level toons and an update to Positron and Silver Mantis. Nothing in terms of new/any endgame content for all of my 50s to do again.
I'm hoping that the increase from 3 to 7 open missions in your contact list is a sign of things to come, meaning there is so much new content that you need the bump. I'm cautiously optimistic about that too though.
I'll probably be back to finish up some other toons I have during the next Double XP weekend. Otherwise I'm waiting to see all of what GR is beyond Ultra Mode.
In the interim, Monkey and I will be on the bridge defending the Federation and all of you from those nasty Klingons and the Borg. I wish I could take a movie of Monkey wielding his brand new Bat'leth, creating force fields and quantum mortars, dropping mines and doing the Shatner dodge/roll on away missions. You would laugh so hard lol. -
It is possible that he is with a group of tough young guys with sinewy bodies and their fingers and teeny toes mountain climbing... challenging the rock... challenging... DEATH!
But why would Karl climb the mountain? -
Psssssssst.... I read it the way it was intended.
But yes, posts on a forum are always open to interpretation and what was written is open to interpretation (obviously).
However, the response was clarified. Telling a poster they are "backpedalling" and didn't mean what they posted even after said poster made clarifications to further explain the intent? That is neurotic.
Whether 1 person or 50 "read it wrong" is a moot point. Ultimately, the individual got it wrong.
I believe that is the point being made. -
I'll have to post a screen cap of my latest Bridge Officer from STO this weekend... "Mon Kee". To see him running around shooting bad guys with his dual disruptor pistols, doing the famous "Shatner dodge/roll" then petting his pet Tribble is so damned funny.
I was able to design him to be a really close facsimile to a Rikti Monkey from CoH lol. -
Have to agree with the comment that this is pretty neurotic. You read it wrong.
