  1. I love how the devs are hyping this issue. It's made a lot of people, me included to start thinking what could this all mean for Issue 11.

I also find it amusing that Lighthouse posted the announcement with a grinning face "" on the title of it. They know! They know, we'll be all excited with this. The devs and community guys are now just grinning and smiling at us! I just know it!
  2. Okay here are my speculations on both the wallpaper and the article.

    1) The wallpaper, like a lot of the replies here, could symbolize infinity. The head biting it's tale. Which can mean being able to go back to the start, the start of what? I don't know.

    2) The Flashback system is starting to look even more possible that it is coming. But I believe it is only the tip of the iceberg.

    3) The article looks very different from what is in the game in terms of what's happening. Speculation: The article we just read is something from a different dimension, an altered timeline, where none of us were able to stop Outbreak, nor villains going out of Breakout. What's the best way to get rid off all the heroes and villains (the player characters) in both Paragon and the Rogue Isles? Never have them start out from the beginning.

    4) With all of this, this could mean we may have story arcs regarding time travel to fix these said problems, to correct those timelines.

    5) Who is the villain(s) doing behind these? I don't know, but I could guess Nemesis (yellow wallpaper symbol and all) or perhaps the 5th Column (with all the rumors going around).

    6) Another wild speculation, I have a feeling, with the whole head-to-tail thing, we may see some way to even flashback all the way from our character's beginning, all the way to the tutorial, where all the news from the article is going on.

That's my take on it. Speculations and hypothesis only of course.
  3. Cool screenies!

Too bad I was busy when the Test Server event happened.
  4. I like the Ka-zapp and Gothikus screenshots. You captured a good moment when the blast fires and even caught a good amount of the glowing plasma ring around the burst, and the framing is quite nice. As for Gothikus, I'm a sucker for stoic poses and I like the backdrop of the hospital, and at the sametime, you caught the blimp flying on the left side.

Here's a few of mine. A couple of these I have posted in the forums at some point, but these are some of favorite ones, so I included them. Also, a few of these were taken during one of my screenshot sessions for the comic in my sig.

    The wallpaper screenshot of Shadow-Rush
Shadow-Rush jumping down from a building.
My favorite screenshot of all time... so far.
    Dealing justice to the Family.
Rooftop scene, Enigma Girl meeting with Shadow-Rush
    Watching over the city.
Having fun with the camera while using Prestige Power Quick and Superspeed.

I have lots more, but kinda tired to go looking for them at the moment.
  5. Wow... er.... that's something....

What's also interesting is, if you follow the same way of looking at this... well... she has two. O_O (badum--tssshh)

Yes, the internet and adult anime has tainted my mind. O.o
  6. So this is still ongoing?

I'd like to submit my main hero then, Shadow-Rush. Level 50 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes/Body Mastery Scrapper. His travel power is primarily Super Jump, but can also run at almost superspeed.

Not sure what you meant by signature move, but if I had to pick, it would be Martial Art's Eagles Claw.

For screenshots, there's tons of them in the comic I made for him in the sig below. I also have a large front view shot of him made into a wallpaper in the sig as well.
  7. I could simply say I like PvP, but hmmm... how can I explain this.

I have a kind of love/hate relationship with PvP.

I love it because I find it enjoyable at times when I feel like I just need to kick back and take a break from the actual game itself. Also, it's great fun whenever I just feel like competing.

I hate it, not because of the idea of PvP by itself, but because of it being inserted into this game. Because, since it's here, I am compelled to also try to do my best on it, like I do with everything else in the game.

You see I'm the type of gamer that tends to try to get every content I can as I leveled, get every badge I can, previously I collected the HO's I needed, now its IO's. It's in trying to get everything, see everything, and do everything that I can on my main character that gives me the enjoyment in playing CoH. And since PvP is part of it, I'm always torn between creating a PvE build and a PvP build. I've somehow managed to create a hybrid that works perfectly for me.

But there's always that thought... if PvP didn't exist I could've put more effort into other things, and not have compromised the original build I really wanted for Shadow-Rush. But since I wish to do well in PvP too, I build with both PvE/PvP and concept in mind. Which really took me a loooong while of planning and soul searching, and a few respecs, to do. It's all this trouble and time and effort I've spent that makes a part of me hate PvP. While the other part of me kind of enjoyed thinking of tactics, builds, and strategies.

So there it is, I both hate and love PvP.
  8. That is quite excellent!

It reminds me of one those professional in-game portraits from the Baldur's Gate PC RPG series and Neverinter Nights for some reason. That is amazing!

Well I hope you like this doodle, you can download the humongous version if you want to color it, or you can wait sadly for my queue to be done, and I'll do it then... Shadow Rush

Oh, you drew one already. Er, thanks, even though I don't really think I deserve it. It looks awesome though!

Well I don't think I could find anything better than that... Shadow Rush you ARE a life saver! My gift to you to follow asap...

lol, like Blood_Wolffe said, _Sparky_ got those pictures not me. He should get the gift.

Here are some I've gotten through using demos.

    Detective
    Captain
    SWAT Officer
    SWAT Equalizer
    SWAT Ghost
    SWAT Grenadier
    Shell
    Hard Suit
    Assault Armor
    Automoton
    Heracles

I'll get shots of the rest (psychic, undercover ect.) if you need those as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    That assault armor looks amazing.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah it's the same one that I see Detective Murwell(sp?) has in Founder's Falls (only the colors are different, and he has a different helmet). I keep wishing that we can have this, or something like it, as a costume set. As I've said a few times before, in my opinion, this is what the Anime Armor Vet Reward should have been.
  12. Hmmm, now I'm a little confused with the voting rules. I wasn't aware that contestants were allowed to vote? Also, can we vote for ourselves? (Because of course, I'll put a vote for mine )

Heh, if all the answers are yes then here's mine:

Mindy Moonhopper (Just love how the costume seems to fit the music. I can actually see her in a side-scrolling action platform classic arcade game with this music, jumping and shooting.)

Kablooie Kate (Aside from the music fitting in with the costume, I like how the costume is designed as well. The earthly tones and colors match each other, and the pieces chosen fit well.)

Shadow-Rush (Obligatory vote for myself. If I didn't think mine would go well with the music I wouldn't have entered it. )
  13. These are awesome. I love how clean and sharp they are. I'm guessing these were made using vector graphics? Truly cool.

    New Radey Art!

Nice! Those are really good! I especially like the one by Bokuman.
  15. Wow!
Thanks guys for all the comments. Wasn't expecting some of the comments here.

Also, if anyone cares to. I'm also looking for some constructive criticism on my comic, not necessarily on the story, but more on the technical aspects of the comic. Like the writing, grammar, chosen panel layouts, screenshot angles, lighting, Photoshop effects used, pacing, etc. Just one or two comments on one of those would be good.

I wish to get better at this and would like to ask in which areas you guys think I may need improvements on.

    New Graver WIP's

    Wow! That is amazing!

    My first fifty!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Congrats!

I wish I thought of taking a screenshot of my first (and so far only) 50. I don't think I even remember which particular mission I was in when I hit 50.
  18. A couple of months ago during one of my sessions in gathering screenshots to put into a comicbook for the recent contest, I was able to capture one that really stuck out for me.

    The screenshot

A couple of my friends helped me with this, disguised as Family thugs. This is actually a frame in Super Reflexes's Elude. I was actually going after the final frame of the animation, but I accidentally hit the Print Screen button a millisecond early and got this instead. And when I saw this image, I decided to use it.

It ended up also becoming the front cover of my comic submission. Since the contest has now ended (and as I expected I didn't win), I've decided to share this accidental shot.

I've also decided to place my comic in my signature below. It's far from being a great comic, but I decided I may as well show it to some people. I submitted it as a PDF to the contest and not through HyperComics, so I never really got any comments on it except from a few real-life friends.

I never really thought I had a chance of winning or even being in the honorable mentions, since for the most part I just took the prologue from a long epic story I've been writing on Shadow-Rush. It was the only part in it that I could fit into the 8 page limit. I'm not used to writing really short contained stories. So it was the one I decided to turn into a comic. So, yes, it ends in a cliffhanger of sorts.

But I do like how it turned out though. It was my first try in making a comic. At the very least I love the screenshots I took and had a lot of fun making the whole thing.
  19. Congrats to the winners!

Hehe I knew 8Baller would win, when I saw his comic, I had guessed he would in the Overall category.
  20. Hmmm, Song 2 sounds a bit close to a kind of epic theme I'd imagine for Shadow-Rush (see sig for a screenshot), although probably a little bit less piratey-sounding and a bit more fast-paced. But I am always a sucker for Soul Calibur music or epic orchestra music for that matter.
  21. Wow! I decide to come home early and this is what I see. Issue 10 being announced, already?! And being beta tested on Test?

    Joygasm!

I just turned in my scores and comments on the top 14 entries, so I'm sure we'll have some official results in the not-too-distant future. Each story was graded according to 7 different criteria (storytelling, artistry, etc.) and then reviewed several times for accuracy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So there's a top 14? This is good news! I hope not only the winners will be shown, but the rest of the other 11 will be shown on June 15 as well.

*Prays that the Shadow-Rush comic is in the top 14*
  23. Batgirl
Silent but deadly, Batgirl is likely to knock you out if you try to put the moves on her. Oh, and she doesn't talk... hardly ever. Is that cool?

    Aurora
    Wonder Woman

Well, I am a bit quiet too, but only with people I don't know. Although, I'm sometimes very talky with friends. Heh, but I do like Batgirl though (this silent one, more than Barbara). I'm fine if she hardly talks. And yeah, I'm a fan of the whole Batman series.

I was hoping for Supergirl or Powergirl to be on my list too. I like them a bit more than Wonder Woman, but I do like her as well. I've never heard of Aurora though, I'm more of a DC fan.

I also tried the quiz a second time with a different way of interpreting some of the questions and my results were:

    Black Canary
    Kitty Pryde
    Aurora

    Fun quiz.
  24. Like some of the posters here, I am liking Issue 9. The IO sets have given me some openness and mor eoptions to my tight hero build. I also enjoyed the Statesman's Taskforce. Nothing like going after the big baddies of the game.

But like Rachael_Storm has mentioned, I was also a bit disappointed with the number of temp powers available. I too am looking for things of the "utility belt" nature, like shurikens, caltrops, various grenades, etc.

But I'm guessing, now that this system is here, it's only a matter of time before the devs add a lot more items into the game. I'm hoping the first four temp powers are just an introduction. Here's hoping for more temp power recipes in future patches and/or issues.
  25. Oh well. I was waiting the whole day for the announcement of the winners. But thanks, atleast now I can relax a bit. The last few hours looking at the site again and again for the winners was killing me.

I get to do it again on June 15!
