This sounds great. Here's my entry, it's something I call...
Pandas vs. Rikti
ArcID: 68930
Faction: Heroic
Level Range: 30-50
Length: 4 Missions
Difficulty: Medium
Estimated Time: 30-60 minutes
Synopsis: In a parallel universe, Earth is populated by sentient pandas. They've been invaded by Rikti, and they're losing. Using an ancient device to interface with our Architect system... they are asking for your help. -
I've finished my 3rd arc today, and would love for someone (Venture, Hell_O_Ween, anyone really) to review it.
My previous arcs were always very serious. This one is still very story-driven, but it also leans a bit into fun and and some comedy. I hope someone will give it a try.
It's a tale I've penned down as:

Thanks so much for the review!
Well... I've been busy with another arc. I don't know if you have a one per person rule or not. But I'll just post it here, incase you wanna give it a go. Or for anyone for that matter. This is less dark than my previous arc. I focused more on adventure and fun on this one.

I've been making a few arcs since open beta, and I can't seem to get enough of creating story arcs. Well for my latest one, and probably my last published one (since it's my 3rd one, filling all my slots), until of course, I decide to unpublish something (or get lucky with a Dev's Choice or Hall of Fame).
For my latest one, I decided take a step from making a very serious arc. It's still very story-driven, just a bit more... let's just say fun? comedic? adventurous?
This is a little tale I've penned down as:
Pandas vs. Rikti
ArcID: 68930
Faction: Heroic
Global: @Shadow-Rush
Level Range: 30-50
Difficulty: Moderate
No. of Missions: 4
Estimated Time: 45-60 minutes
Synopsis: In a parallel universe, Earth is populated by sentient pandas. They've been invaded by Rikti, and they are losing. Using an ancient device to interface with our Architect system... they are asking for your help.
Notes: Story-driven. Adventure. Some Comedy. A bit text heavy. Solo-friendly. Only one EB. Also fun for teams.
I hope you'll give it a shot. The pandas need all the help they can get! Would be great to get some comments and feedback. -
I know Venture is now backed up with all these requests, so I'll just post mine for anyone who wishes to check them out. (Of course, Venture is more than welcome to try them too when his list is open again.
)
I have two so far:
"Shaded To Black" ArcID: 4996
A new group of villains working with Arachnos; technology abound; Manticore on their tail, and you answer the call.
(For levels 40-50. Story-driven. Investigation/Sci-fi/Adventure. Has one EB and one EB/AV, Allies are provided. Solo-friendly below Invincible. 4 short missions. 30-60 minutes.)
Notes: This is my first one; the one I did during open beta and spent so much time on (I think a couple of weeks). Even though there is an EB/AV in there, I created this to be soloable (as long as you are below Invincible. I made sure to mention it). The EB/AV is sort of important to the story.
"The Missing" ArcID: 37636
What starts out as a missing person case turns into something more sinister.
(Available for all levels. Story-driven. Mystery. Solo-friendly, only contains one custom standard-level EB. An optional Ally is provided. 3 short missions. 15-30 minutes.)
Notes: This one is shorter than my previous one, but many have thought it to be better in some areas, mostly because of the story. It has less custom mobs and is less epic than the previous one, but it has a bit more heart I think. -
Hi. I'd like to add one of mine to the list. It's called "The Missing", Arc ID: 37636. It has 3 short missions, and one standard-level EB. The faction is heroic. It's story-driven, and has a bit of a mystery.
It's shorter and has less custom mobs than my first one (the other one in my sig), but I think this one has more heart. No kill-alls, no blue caves.
I hope you get to give it a try. -
Gah! I just had one of the those days... sigh. If you noticed the Arc ID for this arc changed (it's now 37636). I was editing, and for the life of me I don't know why, but I accidentally clicked Unpublish, then went to click Cancel, but clicked Accept instead. I lost the few ratings I had.
I feel like an idiot. That's the last time I try editing an arc just after waking up and still half-asleep.
This is just a heads up that the Arc ID has changed.
Turg: Thank you!I haven't been playing other people's arc much yet, but yours is on the top of my list when I do!

I would love to get some comments and feedback on this arc. It's shorter than my previous one, but I believe it has a bit more heart. I've proofread it a few times, but like always I might have missed a few typos or grammar errors, so if you find any, I'd appreciate notes on it.

Shadowrush (Main Hero)
Level 50 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper
(My favorite character, my first 50, and my main character overall. He wasn't my first created character though. It took a couple of early tries, rerolls, and playtesting before I found my concept, AT, and powersets. Reached 50 back in early or mid 2006)
Mr. White Shades
Level 50 Electrical Melee/Electric Armor Brute
(He was a level 30+ Thugs/Dark MM, but was rerolled into a Brute. Used to be my main villain before he reached 50, when I realized I like Stalkers more. Reached 50 in either late 2007 or early 2008, can't remember.)
Chronostrike (Main Villain)
Level 50 Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu Stalker
(Created to be my main villain and Shadowrush's arch-nemesis, when I realized I wasn't totally happy with my previous villain, or Brutes in general. Reached 50 in mid 2008.)
Laser Archer
Level 50 Archery/Energy Melee Blaster
(Created along with 3 other alt characters. Part of my big 5 heroes, one for each basic AT, with Shadowrush as the leader of the group. Reached 50 in late 2008.) -
This is still my favorite screenshot of Shadowrush so far.

Awesome robots guys! I like them all. Very creative!
bluedude: Nice idea for the robot's chest piece. And the cockpit idea. Didn't think of that.
TheDoomKitten: Reminds me of one of those Fallout 3 robots, but with legs!
Aggro_King: Buzzkill is cool! Love the arms and claws, combined with actual turrets! And a driver seat too!
Gruumch: Wow! Very creative use of the sewer items. A sitting giant on his throne with a scary grin! Which means, if he ever stands up he'd be taller than the base itself!
LtZerge: I love the exosuit. It's very well designed and constructed. I love the arms, it feels like he can raise it and fires as some sort of chaingun. I also like the details at the back. And the feet! Cool idea! Kind of like one of those Battletech feet, or ED209's feet. Awesome robot overall! -

Okay, by far that is the coolest thing I have seen built in a base. If I had my way you would get a Perm Yellow Name Tag that says the following: Giant Robot Builder.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, I wish. I've been wanting a yellow title for almost 3 years now. But I think they only give those out to contest winners. Would be quite funny though.

I also was wondering if I could make something similairly designed in my SGs base? If you dont want it out there and want to keep it only one of those types thats cool but I'd love to have it.
Anyways, great job! I am sure you have inspired many base builders like myself!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I don't mind people making similar robots or golems of their own. Heck, I'd love to see what different kinds of giant robots or golems people could make, if they decide to build one. -
[ QUOTE ]
Very nice!
One of the folks in my Supergroup posted a pic of your robot, so I had to track down this thread to comment on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, thanks Castle! Hmmm... so this is how it feels to have a redname in your thread... it's a tingly sensation. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's an awesome job!!!
One question...
How do you make the items stack and "float" like that? I've had some ideas for other things and I can't do them unless I can get things to stack but they don't cooperate with me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I made the giant robot using the old fashioned way by stacking desks (of course I-13 made it a lot easier, as all desks are now practically magic desks), 12 layers high if I remember correctly.
I didn't see the lamp + tile floor technique that MrWentWorth referred to above, until I visited the base forums to post my robot that day. If I did saw it, I would've done it that way, as it's easier and faster to use. I use that technique now to float things. -
Wow, thanks for all the great comments everyone!
I had a fun time making it, and I'm glad people like it. Everyone's comments made me smile and a few even made me laugh!
With some help from friends (and a few of the suggestions here), I've decided to name him Boximus Prime! -
[ QUOTE ]
That is my favorite base construction photo of I13 so far. The part where you are sitting on his shoulder rocks.
Have you named your robot, yet? It's not official until you name it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I... I haven't thought of that yet. Hmmm... what to name it... -
I've been busy redoing my base since I-13 hit. I still have lots to go, and yesterday it was time to work on my Trophy Room. While I was doing it I thought I needed a centerpiece of sorts, something big. Batman always has that giant robotic T-Rex in his trophy room. So I wanted something showy and big.
I stopped doing my trophy room for a bit, pondered, and had an idea. This was it:
Giant Robot 1
Giant Robot 2
Giant Robot 3
And I just had to sit on his shoulder.
I tried my best to use mostly tech items. My plan was to create something along the lines of the Iron Giant. Something looking like a toy robot built from various items and equipment. I also built him to be as tall as I can, using the lowest floor and the highest ceiling.
For concept, I'm thinking he's basically a robot made up of various equipment and parts, built by magic and is held together by it, kinda like a golem. And the usual, hero-stops-giant-golem-toy-robot, beats bad guy, and hero reprograms robot, deactivates it, and brings it home. -
Here's a variation on the pose from one of the screenshots I posted in the first page of this thread last year. This time with actual NPC's.
Really tough finding two baddies positioned near a car in just the right distance and angle. Also tough timing the Print Screen button while executing Elude and waiting for one of the final animation frames while he lands from it. This was also my action shot for the recent official Costume Contest.

(I really need to update my forum avatar and the wallpaper in my sig to his latest colors in-game.) -
Interesting news.
My guess, for one of the things they're preparing for... I'm thinking perhaps side-switching (one of the more suggested features). Uniting both games and fully seeing them as one universe with two sides may help usher in a side-switching feature. Where a hero could fall and move to the Rogue Isles and become a villain, or a villain could become a hero and move to Paragon City. Again, that's just my guess.
As for the offline reward system... I'm thinking it may just be refering to the City Vault, or a new system connected to it, or I could be wrong and it ends up being a totally new thing, like "rested xp" and such.
Still a pretty interesting bit of news. Makes me wonder what the devs have in store for us.
