That's not much worse than Miss Liberty dying in the SSA, but having full health and endurance at the same time.

Out of curiosity, then, on average, which AT does more damage? In your opinion, of course.

Quote:Sorry, Troy, she suggested the pants thing. It was me who then linked it to you.So...I'm Darrin...and your wife is thinking about my pants, or lack thereof...?
I don't want to break up yet another happy home...
Yes! I think about Troy Hickman's pants!
I find your lack of pants disturbing. -

Was an alternative name choice going to be "Emo"?

Also wouldn't bother me either way. As I understand it, the personal accounts function identically to the accounts the rest of us have. I am prepared to be wrong, but I'd be very surprised if I am.

As I understand it, they have their "Redname Accounts", which they use to create their personal in-game avatars for dev/community- to-player interactions, and their personal accounts, which work just like the rest of us. Their employee terms and conditions prevent them from using "dev hacks" on their personal accounts (and the consequences of doing so are likely to be a sacking for gross misconduct). They are also not allowed to reveal their personal account global names.
This information has been gleaned over the course of several years, but most noticeably from details (scarce ones) from ex-employees about the treatment of their private accounts after employment ends.
It is also possible for their "dev accounts" to be converted into "personal accounts" with the loss of everything that dev accounts had (like badges and ultra-cheats characters with all tanker powersets, all APPs and all power pools). -
The internal wireless card on my laptop works... okay-ish for running CoH on an older Netgear 2000 series router. Using it on a different floor of my house causes some interference, though.
I don't know enough about USB wireless adapters to be able to confirm their utility.
On the other hand, my preference is to always go wired when I can (hence the 10m Ethernet cable I have that allows me to run anywhere in the house).
Sorry I can't help more than that. -
Quote:Ah, but one of the Surviving Eight DID die. They said one of the surviing eight will die.
Not one and then another one, not two, not one and maybe some more. Just one of the surving eight.
And then another one of them died, too.
[/end silly semantic argument that means nothing]
The argument being presented is the same as the silly "there are two coins, total value 30 pence, one of them is not a twenty pence piece, what are the two coins?" riddle.
Strictly speaking, saying "one of the surviving eight will die" does not preclude more than one of them dying, yes. It's a form of bait and switch. It's also a valid marketing tool. It's also, in my opinion, sloppy and stupid.
Also, just as an aside, my wife finally finished running SSA 1 last night, and she is utterly convinced that Manticore wasn't the real Manticore, because his actions and behaviour were just too damned stupid. -
Quote:Because there are no psychics in CoH, and no psychic worth their salt would ever reach into a victim's mind, draw on their fears and memories and craft a personalised illusion to get the result they want. And Statesman has never, ever, ever faced a psychic who might use his memories, hopes and fears to trick him.not how i saw it at all, he was continuing to fight, until his wife came around and told him that there were capable heroes who could take his place, he didnt have to protect the world any more. It pushed us forward and let him finally move on from a life he was more burdened with than living.
Statesman gave up because he wanted to give up, not because "his wife" told him to. Respect for the man to have the cojones to actually choose to die, but make no mistake - nothing outside of him persuaded him to do it. -
My wife finally identified what Wade clearly wanted to be free of.
Pants.
Yes, you heard it here first, Darrin Wade IS Troy Hickman. -
And for anyone wondering, one I randomly picked up on in SSA 1.7 - Part 4. Who the HECK is "Black Scoprion"? No one can tell me that a spellchecker wouldn't have picked that up.

I'm tempted to try something similar to this experiment (regardless of its utility AS an experiment), just for my personal satisfaction. I'd try it with an Eng/Eng blaster (a combo which on my main has so far netted over 7,000 hours on patrol) versus a Scrapper or Controller. If I get the time, I'll give it a go, with some rather specific rules in place to minimise preference bias.

Insert obligatory thread necromancy image here.
But on-topic, take a quick look at L25 LotG 7.5% recharge enhancements - a few months ago, I could sell these for a cool 200 million. What is the price today? -
Getting a haircut on Sept 3rd, 2005...
I bought City of Heroes afterwards, and was able to (mostly) realise my Pen and Paper RPG character in a computer game.
After that, Power Spectrum, to let me change the colours of his Energy Blast to better suit his concept. -

Congratulations to you both. As a happily married man, all I will say is that gamer girls know their way around a joystick, gamer girls know exactly how to click your mouse, and gamer girls are known to enjoy a headshot.
Next step, though... Gamer baby! -
Just to confirm, you're using game account logons and passwords, which are different to your Master Account logon and password?
Another usual issue: passwords are case-sensitive.
To aid you with one thing: the current game setup should allow you to log in and use the character creator while more of the game downloads in the background.
It shouldn't have anything to do with the game, therefore. It's a problem with your game account. First thing I would do is log into your master account and change the game account password (temporarily) to something utterly basic, like abcd1234. Then try again. If that works, change it to a more secure password immediately. If not, you'll have to register a support ticket with NCsoft. -
On the grounds that my surname is very distinctive (as is Zortel's) I must decline to post a pic of my name appearing there. However, I have personally confirmed sight of surnames for myself, Zortel, Floating Fat Man, Plasmarch, Rockjaw, and a few others I can't think of right now.
However, since it will not directly link to me, here's a little riddle for anyone who can be bothered to go and trawl around to find it (just respect my wishes and don't post my surname anywhere, please): He took a little stroll and got in trouble for being tardy. What did he do?
(Oh, and the last time I went looking, it took me ten minutes to find my name, so this is by no means a freebie.) -
Rumours of this thread's death are greatly exaggerated.
LAST NIGHT...
Richard, Shanna and Squish had a very silly, relaxing conversation about not a lot.
There were puns! Rumours! Laughs! Elbow-nudges! And one small fireball!
And it was good. -
And this is the thing we need clarifying, I think.
Here's the question I want a clear answer to: For a given billing date, when should we be receiving each of Paragon Reward Tokens, Paragon Points, assuming monthly billing?
Please also clearly define how different billing schemes (Quarterly, Half-Yearly, Yearly, Half-Yearly+1, Yearly+2) alter that.
I don't really mind what the answer actually IS, but I want to know the answer.
For instance, I am billed on the 3rd of each month. Ignoring all previous experience, moving forward, when can I expect to see my Token for the payment coming up on March 3rd? My Points? Is it March 3 for one, April 2 for the other? Some other random set of dates? I'm not bothered by the answer, but it matters. With this information clearly defined, we can identify problems more easily.
Also, to help out other issues, when should I get my next Year Badge? My account anniversary is Sept 3rd, it's never lapsed, but has had various "free" or "bonus" months added to it (let's say 3 for simplicity's sake), and I am currently on Quarterly billing. -
When I look at that picture Zortel posted, the only thing I can think is:
Both - "1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a thumb war!" -
Okay, distinct maths fail, there, since a billion times one is definitely a billion.
However, a windfall isn't going to massively affect purple drops anyway, since the chance of them dropping is so small.
If we take a fairly standard number that's thrown around of 1 in 5000, then all a windfall will do is increase that to 3 in 10000. Still not huge odds.
