I was expecting ranting about the game's content being inappropriate or something, but this is awesome. Kudos to your daughter and to you for raising such a cool kid!

Quote:I'll admit it was kind of a jerk thing of me to say, but I'm tired of people worshiping 4chan and feeling just because they lurk it frequently that they're apart of this big family and are "legion". Don't get me wrong, I love anonymous and I don't find 4chan nearly as revolting as most do. But the "LOL IM A /b/TARD HURRRRR" is -_-;.
P.S
New-frog to a Chan GirlM00t's Angyl is like tossing charcoal in a pond and expecting it to turn the water into gold. Sense none? Common not found.
And no I'm not breaking rules 1&2. -
Quote:When you put it that way, I guess it balances out. Paragon City will never be peaceful thanks to the villains, but it won't crumble to dust for good thanks to the heroes. That's because the default setting for the game world matches the major goals of the Heroes - if we log out with Paragon City in the same state as it was in when we logged in, then we've been successful.
Every single villain group in the game, from Tyrant and the loyalists down to the Skulls and the Hellions is trying to make the game world into a worse place - which would require some changes to the game on a small scale or a massive scale, depending on the size of the threat - which would also fragment the meta-storyline, adding even more work to the development process - so not only are we saving the world, we're also saving the devs a huge amount of unnecessary work -
Quote:I see the new tutorial a lot more free in my opinion O_o. In the end, the old ones were the same thing just a bit anticlimatic with a "Meh" story that never gets brought up again. In the new one, you're sort of that "Guy who was there and seen it all" as far as the CoH universe treats you. Matthew Hasbey's arc is a direct after-effect of the attack, and I believe it's mentioned a few times villain side. I guess that's why Arachnos sees potential in your villain rather than just Destined One B.S.All of it. It was story-neutral. "Hello. Here's the city. These are the game mechanics." The new story system assumes not just that you are new to Paragon City, but that you are NEW TO YOUR POWERS. Sorry, but my centuries-old mutant isn't. Nor is my alien who just landed on Earth. I can, and have, made characters who fit the paradigm dictated by the new lore, but I have many more who are not constrained by it.
More to the point, the game should not constrain our creativity in this manner. If CoH wants to distinguish itself from every other MMO out there, they should embrace this "creative playground" model.
Though I don't know. I like the Freedom tutorial better for heroes, but breaking out of jail was always fun. I can't nitpick the game to death though. -
Quote:I was hoping with each of us having our own unique instances whether we're solo or the leader of a party would help with that sort of thing. One more time I simply wish I could play a game where I didn't have to "pretend" to be an insanely suicidal villain because the game itself prevented me from roleplaying a villain the way I might want to.
I don't really consider this to be a specific flaw of CoH - until someone can figure out a suitable way to create a MMO that did not have to remain static then the continuing idea of being able to play a "real" super-villain will always be basically impossible. -
Only argument against that, as hilariously awesome as it sounds, is Cole would somehow get the power to himself. Or to make matters worse, the Hamidon.
-
Maybe the villains will try and take Wade's power for themselves.

Quote:D'oh! Forgot that one! :PWell, I don't usually kiss and tell...
Also, Sam, next time ask in a PM (Muhahaha...... kidding...).
It's not so much of a moment, perhaps, but having the new starting contact (Is it Mathew Habashi?) reunited with his wife and having her stand next to him via the phasing tech, is touching... perhaps not a tender moment, but I figured I'd mention it so that I could make a few jokes beforehand. -
-
Rescuing Praetorian Yen (Though the moment after isn't so tender)
Faultline Arc in general by the end
Aaron Walker dying
Seeing Metronome get resurrected in Siege's body
Statesman's death
Hopefully rescuing Katie in the future
Master Midnight's death was bittersweet. However, I didn't like First Ward's generic turn into "LOL MAGIC" -
Oddly my hero could do the same. I had the option to watch two people die and laugh at it basically o____o;

Quote:I've had the same problem, actually. So I took a little break and came back. All of a sudden I have no power in my base. The SG is just myself and my sons, none of us were playing for a bit so nothing changed with the base. I have a basic generator and 2 circuit breakers which appear to be doing nothing.
I tried selling the generator and purchasing a new one, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Upkeep is paid, don't see any other issues. Any ideas? -
Quote:My new-frog (For use of a PG rated word) radar is off the scale.Told you guys.
They are legion lol.
Anonymous is not some ragtag group, they are not really hactivists, they are not ''a person..'' and the fault can't purely be blamed on them alone. In the sake of War throughout history did talking always get the message across? No? Yeah. Could there been an agreement on both sides if the parties were willing to reach some middle ground? Possibly, but as we all know neither side usually wants to walk 500 miles to reach said ground. They want some leverage over the other side, or to keep what the other is saying No to the most.
In this case, you can do the blackouts, you can have protests, you can meet with your mayor or governor, send letters to your senate but is that really going to solve anything? Partially, yes. However, in this day and age you have to show a little muscle, a little flex, and cunning. I for one do not see this as a catastrophe or nerd's revenge but rather a militant demonstration using the tools available. Strategy. Sun Tzu's upgraded model.
There's many ways to get to your enemy defensively, but every now and again you have to prove a point through cyber warfare so to catch the media's attention. Ever notice how the media shifts from ''Anonymous did this!"' to '' Protests around the world...'' almost immediately after? Why? Because attention that was needed had been done by a few so the bigger picture would be grasped.
Black Outs did their part, but for the News to catch on you need something exciting that makes people go, '' OH I HAVE TO WATCH THAT..'' as opposed to, '' Oh, they're rallying peacefully? Lets see what else is on. ''
It's the mind set of the peoples today, just like in the news a mass majority won't watch something or read about something if it doesn't have a formidable action involved in either a gruesome manner or destructive way.
Yup. Welcome to 2012, and Anon is just warming up.

Quote:Pretty much this.If they want to pump some LIFE back into villain zone then they need to add content specific to that area that is absent from hero-side. Villain side started very strong for it's mayhem missions and newspaper dealies, but grew weaker when Heroes got the same exact thing, and while I do like the feature, it's really hurting pretty badly now that I can make any arche-type on any side.
So if they add in something like 'territories', or what have you, it needs to stay villain specific. -
If you have a jacket, trench coat, bolero, etc. on it won't be accessible. Gotta use tights or tights with skin as far as I know.

Ah I see. That's too bad. Sounds like a wonderful person though, and as others have said, I never knew her but she'll still be missed like family.
-
That's awful :X. Any known cause? But that may be personal.
Rest in peace and I ain't religious but god bless. -
His death did imply he felt he was the only hero capable of stopping someone like Wade. He finally accepted there are many just as capable, if not more, to take his place and let him rest.
-
Maybe it could be a VIP benefit. Using the store in game is pretty frustrating.
-
It's a problem that keeps contributing to itself. Redside is dead, so nobody plays it.

Quote:God forbid a level 35 joins a level 35 task force. This just encourages people to farm Task Forces! I don't think ANYONE likes the fact that Cimerora is clogged up with people running the ITF from level 35.
Anyways, AE is fine. If people don't farm AE, they'll farm TFs. Then what would you do? Nerf regular content? I personally want to try the challenge of leveling from 1 to 50 on nothing but actual story arcs in AE sometime. -
Controllers by far.
