Perhaps there are people on this game that can't figure out how to do it but, that doesn't mean they should just make it a situation where money wins over all. What'd be the point of even playing then? Might as well hand NCSoft a blank check and not even log on since that kinda removes any challenge at all of playing. If you or other players haven't figured out how to pull it off then why not ask your friends that have to show you how to go about earning IOs quickly. It's what I've been doing for my friends.
As long as these enhancements aren't store EXCLUSIVE, it's not pay to win.
  2. Street justice is the "coolest" of the three. I don't know about quality, though. Super strength and it are very close.

Very out of date and VERY infected. Completely wrecked my laptop a good bit a few months back.

On topic, though, I liked Fire melee/shield on brute. Interested to hear how mace is though!
  4. I think Zombieman's trollin' :P.

    Looks great!

Eh. Curb Stomp usually applies to busting someone's head with your foot. Shin breaking is self explanatory.
  6. Could've sworn we had Widow Maker already. Either way, awesome!
  7. A, in my opinion. C's a bit too silly for most toons I have, and not a fan of the goofy rings myself. Yes I know it's stereotypical retro space, but hey, I may just want the jetpack or something and not the whole set.

Not only would the writers be catering to me, but they'd be catering to everyone else who's chimed in about my thoughts on this matter. They'd even be catering to all the folks who pick up this game over another, newer MMO. If I were to come back to this game anew and find all the redside content written for truer villainy, I'd probably do a happy dance.
    QFT.

By the way guys, stay on topic. May be too late to say that though. Nalrok isn't asking to destroy the world or do anything game changing. He's talking about how even regular villain content is bland. We need more Dean Arthur styled arcs. Have someone ELSE be OUR lackey. We order HIM to get us access to secret codes to Longbow bases or other highly secured areas. That's sort of an example of what Nalrok is talking about.

On the co-op matter, he's tired of villains suddenly turning their A-hole meter down to zero and going out of their way to fight with the heroes. Yeah yeah, cosmic horrors, Battalion, Praetorians, etc. It'd be nice to sort of have multiple replies to choose from for new story arcs, too. Especially if it's a co-op zone. The new intro story for Rogue Isles does this real well with the Longbow guy you torture for information. First Ward did it pretty straight. Haven't done much of Dark Astoria to avoid SPOILARZ.

Of course this post will just be overshadowed in the argument of "herp derp pvp"

Don't have any farming toons with /SS, and never have. Just know a friend who has it.
  10. You could, but it's pretty slow. It'd also be repetitive and dull. By the time you're in the 40s you'd be able to estimate the average number of steps your toon takes through the trial :P. It's moderately decent exp. even later on but barely more than a solo newspaper mission.
  11. /SS is bad for farming for the knockback. Definitely drop Titan for that reason too. Fire melee works great though. Or elec. Fire aura is probably the best for farming (seeing as most farms are fire farms anyways), but it's average in the regular content.

By the way, know what would be kind of nice? Rularuu pack. It'd be nice to have the weapons from level 1 . Would prefer that over Roman pack, but that's my opinion.
Also as silly as it is, I actually bought the option to get auras and capes at level 1. I personally found it very worth it. It's not entirely silly to buy something you can earn in game.

Only shield characters can use them.
Only broadsword users can use the swords. I also see way more shield users than broadsword.

  15. I maintained to go through the tip with a straight face. However, I had no other way to express myself with the situation.

What a weird morality mission. Screws with my head. I like it though. I don't really see how it's evil, but I like it. I mean do we really want FROSTFIRE to become God instead?

Maybe it's that you'd rather have ultimate power and live for so long everyone else ever is dead than die in peace surrounded by loved ones or something.
  16. Because I'm playing City of Heroes

    (Why?)

Newspaper missions that have you stealing things are particularly bad at this. You find some fabulous piece of technology or magic, and instead of using it, you're told your character just sells it to "someone a little higher up on the food chain" because "a buck's a buck". (Both direct quotes from the missions)

Why can't I use that Sonic Device or the "weird weapon"? Why can't I make the Crown of Enos work for me? Why can't I become powerful enough to control the Dagger of Erishkigel? Keeping things like that to give the character more power for further schemes would be more villainous (as the game defines "Villainous") than just selling them and forgetting them. Give me the option to sell them (for a larger Inf bonus on mission completion) or keep them (for a limited-use temporary power).

Newspaper missions also treat you as if you're a former jailbird - which, to be fair, you were, according to the old Tutorial, but that doesn't apply anymore - who's living in a tiny apartment with walls so thin that your neighbors can hear your every action, even if you're a newly-arrived space alien who has his own supervillain group base.

The Dean MacArthur quest is an example of how to do a story arc that isn't about your villain working for someone else. Dean is working for you, and you gather even more people to work for you as the plot goes on. (Sure, it still ends in failure, restoring the Status Quo, but at least the trip there isn't full of the contact belittling and insulting you)

The Mayhem missions are also good about this, in that they don't ascribe any motive to you at ALL, letting you decide why your character is doing the mission. One player can say their character robs a bank because they want the money (which he'll spend on making himself comfortable), but someone else's character robs a bank because they want the notoriety (including the chance to take down a hero).

A villain doesn't have to be an Omnicidal Maniac to not want to work for other people, and just because you, the player, know that your character isn't going to get to rule the world doesn't mean the character shouldn't be allowed to try.
    ^THIS SO HARD. SO HARD

Writers, if you read this, please calm down a bit. You don't HAVE to trump the potential-but-never-happening destruction of the last villain plot every time. Not even because Statesman dies.
Sort of what killed Dragonball Z. Bigger and bigger cosmic horrors gets a bit redundant.

The event channel is a system channel, not a chat channel; they can't talk in it, so no, it wouldn't work.
They could still use Request/Broadcast for that area instead of announcing to the entire server :P.

  22. I didn't realize how much I missed travel powers until I returned to some old MMOs for a very short time.
  23. I'm tempted to roll a grav toon now.

Stupid question, but I've been inactive on CoH for the past month or so (except a few pop ins here and there)...Are the gravity changes on live too?
  24. Even better...Teleport an enemy into a time-slow field full of caltrops/mines :P.
  25. I wish you luck then! The statues look like they're in EXCELLENT condition. I'm not really a "OMG MINT CONDITION HNNNNG" sort of guy, but they look shiny and pretty.
