    I find it a bit less confusing if I think of it like rewards for membership in something. If a company gives me a discount for being a member over a year, I usually don't get that discount during the 12th month even if I've payed in advance, I get it during the 13th month and beyond. The fact that I don't get to use that discount unless I stay a member serves as sort of an incentive to stay longer. In this case, the idea that you have a new token/points dropped into your bin just as your renewel is up might encourage you to re-up so you can mess around with them.

    I'd imagine they'll never consider frontloading the points, even when they develop the tech to frontload the tokens, for this reason.

    I believe the single store transaction (160 pts or something) unlocks every classic level 30 aura for all existing and future characters from level 1. Likewise the version for capes. So if you want these parts available for all your creations without having to quest or do the per character incarnate redeem, its not the worst option.

    I'm pretty sure they were not (I think there might have been no female glove options at all). Likewise each gender gets a very different belt and the three awesome new chest straps are male only (as are the fuzzy shorts): I would have rather these were shared. On the upside of this situation, only females get the new barbaric bikini bottoms: I really don't want to see them on male or huge frames.

    Unless this changed from Beta, look in your powers list for the unlimited one from the Valk/Max booster. It drops there without having to be claimed and is seperate from the charged version.

    Indeed. I was previously considering the extra enhancement slots to be a day 1 purchase: But not at $20 per tray.

    Also I'm sad to see no movement on the price or selection of costume temp powers: Still 400-800 for a list that mostly just includes ones you can get very close to in the character creator.

    Barbarian Set

    I didn't have a lot of time to mess with this set before running off to work, but I'm very pleased with what I did look at. The hammer and axe are very stylish (while still subtle) and the tons of corset combinations I'm sure will be all the rage in Pocket D. I'm guessing more people will use the double plate shoulder armor for tech rather then primitive outfits (it is generic enough for either which is awesome). I am not pleased however that the small band shoulder armor piece is only on females: It would have been great on my undead pharoah in combination with the new male wrist guards and belt.

    Overall a happy loss of 400 points.

    Anybody have compiled images of all the parts yet though? The market really needs to pop up screenshots or something.
  9. Also on a new char I tried to make this morning both the Collector's Edition capes that I have (Four Winds and Arachnos) did not show up on my selection list. Something seems to be broken with non-booster / non-market unlocks.

    I've always thought that would be a great approach: The few episodes involving the Academy have always left me wanting for them to explore it further. I bumped into a few issues of a comic series with some of Nog's adventures there that was actually pretty amusing (especially interactions with his female Andorian classmate). It shouldn't be to hard a pitch to a network either as it could have the young angsty school kid thing a lot of shows do and you wouldn't have to worry about the characters acting according to Starfleet ethics all the time because they are still learning. Also they might be able to budget on the cheap since they wouldn't have to create alien planets to often (just when characters visited home) and could reuse set components from other earth based shows (just glue a tech panel to the wall of a normal restaurant set and instant high tech earth restaurant).

    That's been an annoyance with a couple of NPC rebuild concepts (not to mention actual characters) I've had. And the Arena Info Agents have comm earpieces and appear to be built with the player rig, so its extra puzzling. That, eyeglass frames with uncolored lenses, elderly faces, and open lab coats that aren't all beat up looking are probably at the top of my parts wish list.

    As to this build, I'd almost rather see a chest logo (?the Portal one?) or maybe the stealth pouch harness. As the Security Chief standing outside the building I'd expect him to be forced to interact with scientists and corporate types a fair bit, the sort who might be made uneasy by a line of shotgun shells across the torso.

    Actually it is worse. He is just a generic balding old pale guy in a business suit. I spent some time looking over online samples of traditional Hmong clothing and Americanized variations: While its mostly limited to celebrations and the like I thought I could at least grab some simple elements he might adopt as symbolic community leader. Usually this apparently ends up being black pants with black or white shirts and vests, accented with colorful knitted vests and belts (of which I tried to address that in at least the belt so there is some color anchoring the build).

    All I can say at this point is I hope the devs do some elderly facial textures for Freedom that don't scream "Get off my lawn!" Personally I think Kong Bao's actual game face texture would be fine with a little detailing and the ability to shade/slider it like normal.

    Is it sad I'm now wondering how many Paragon Points they would charge for proper instrument instrument emotes that look like these. And better still if they open up a mini-window with controls to actual have them make sounds.
  15. I can only hope that crazy back... spine... thing on the Death Mage is available as a purchasable. In color and structure he and the Energy Mage scream awesome. Or maybe they moan it. Or chant in phrases best never heard by human ears. This is overwhelmingly better then what was shown before: Ancient and alien, and almost buglike.

    That is the Male model (not the Huge) at about 75% Physique, very low chest, and no waist. My theory is that the in game GF is at about 25% Physique with a near maximum Chest. I may drop down a picture of the lighter build I had tried but I'd have to reconstruct it first; I didn't bother saving it at the time because I frankly liked him better "fat".

    Perhaps, but at this point I'd say we are really just playing "What-If?" in this thread and hoping the devs will see some suggestions they like that flow into actual NPC builds, or at least get the impressions such revisions would be appreciated. It would be to much to hope they actually take in some of these designs directly or semi-directly, but in that case I'd imagine they would establish a more formal process of submission with specifically designated target NPCs.

    That being said, any suggestions on some better targets (I'm kind of running low on the Atlas/Galaxy Basement crowd)?

    Yeah I have a lot of issues with those three faces. I think Older Face 2 looks the scariest, more like a stretched flesh mask rather then a real face. Older Face 1 has very deep lines so it comes off as really old. And Older Face 3 heavily shades the cheek bones and chin tip so its harder to get a soft shape. If you could give me some slider recommendations I'd happily try them out, or do you think just going with Older Face 1 would be better?

    Amazingly that is the smallest waist setting. What happened is the armored top was causing an odd distortion in the belt sides without the build being scaled pretty beefy, leading to the size you see. I separately tried dropping the armored top entirely and just going for tight, which looks cool and very classicly heroic, but I started realizing that I really liked him with the bulk: He looks less sculpted then a lot of the signature characters and especially with the solid helmet he makes me think of a football player turned hero.

    I liked that JSJS looks a bit older, so I kept a wrinkled look for him. I could not see him in either the newer mad scientist lab coats or the older lab coat (which is so disheveled I regular use it as a scavenged overcoat rather then anything professional) so he ended up with a white blazer.

    As a random side note if the Galaxy contacts move and start sharing offices with the Atlas gang, I'd expect Jonathan to be using the coffee drinking emote or reading a book so he and Rebecca don't end up playing "dueling clipboards".

    I think I'd make a few nearby backup copies of the solar system, complete with all the people and no clear indicator which was the original. Then I'd make sure that each one picked up some stray signals from at least one of the the others (nothing clear, just enough to tell humankind that they weren't alone out there).

    Then, assuming I had the willpower, I'd wink myself out of existance before I caused some *real* damage with my next random impulse.

    While I find GW is stunning, Sister Airlia always makes me think of a racoon or somebody engaged in the ancient performance art that eventually developed into mime.     The natural contact from Atlas, she is rumored to have a lot of contacts and no everything that is going on in the city: So I thought playing up sort of a cop angle via the belt and scanning the PPD channel would help. Unfortunately the upper arm glitches through the holo-display. If they used something like this design I would hope that would be fixed, or maybe there could be a policeband scanner without the holo (just the hand device and arm positions): That would actually be a pretty cool emote.
