  1. I don't agree.

    1. Over time this will get people to run more and different task forces increasing variety.
    2. Also, these events will obviously be less popular on Tuesdays in the future, but everyone was racing to get a taste of 19.5.
    3. Finally, your comment largely represents the gameplay of a powergamer (ie. the person who regularly has time to run multiple TFs in a single evening). Powergamers generally tend toward repetitive content anyways.

Finally, we will eventually, it seems, have other ways to get the Notice of the Well, so our experience will change some once i20 comes out.

OMG STRIKE PACK IS COMING OUT TOMORROW CAUSE CAUSE ITS ITS A LIKE TUESDAY AND STUFF ALWAYS COMES OUT ON TUESDAY!!!!

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=251447]SEE!!!!

I'm starting to find it funny that whenever a [insert thing here] is announced there are freak out threads that always say its coming out NAO! when it's not.

Though it would be cool if the strike pack did that very thing tomorrow though.
I legitimately do think it is coming tomorrow. I suspect it was fully tested behind the scenes and the appearance on test server on Friday was just just to keep versions up for when it hits live. Anyways, I've been wrong before.

Also, it says a "publish" and we are caught up with the test server minus i19.5.

    Issue 19.5

Wow, i figured the eagle-headed thing was a fan mock-up. Looks like fun!
  5. Any thoughts on making a broadsword / fire scrapper into something which is reasonably sturdy? I have spent some time in mids and a bit of time respeccing (mostly SOs at the moment) but what I have ended up with is both fragile and terrible at managing endurance.

    What should I do?
  6. answer D) not enough information to solve

A larger slice of a smaller pie. Not bad. We'll never know the nuances of the matter, but it can't be a bad thing.

I would prefer context, but we'll have to take what we can get.
  9. The rare and ultrarare alpha enhancements are just new numbers (which have already been decided upon) and new recipes. It seems like they will be trivial to add, be it before i19 is released or soon afterwards. I doubt we will have to wait until i20 for them.

  13. Sounds great. You should probably release it right now to any avoid further confusion.
  14. I wonder if there was plans for a second project, aside from City of Heroes proper, which fell through and that staff aimed at that project were eliminated.

See how this comes down to preference?

I have never used gladiator shoulder's since the new one was implemented. I much preferred the old metal style to the new leather-armor-looking one.

Ironic considering that your forum avatar features one of such pieces.

That's why I like that legacy tailor suggestion, which is the best of both options.
You make a great point, which is that people create some amazing costumes by mixing pieces which aren't intended to go together. Properly mixed clipping on the face and head can lead to some really interesting results! Some of the oldest pieces work best for this, since they don't have a fixed "look" but, instead, are more of a geometrical protrusion.
  18. The loss of the old Gladiator shoulder is one reason I favor option 2. I realize that this also entailed a geometry change, so it might no be subject to the same considerations as stated in the OP.

Basically, I feel that the costume interface has already outgrown itself. I don't really like the idea of any sacrifice being made with an eye to extending it's life. Every time i go to get a geometrical chest emblem, I am reminded about how insufficient the system is.

All in all, I would rather have more options, even fugly ones, when making my costumes. I am sure that, even with the best intentions, there will be old pieces that I prefer.

  21. This thread is an interesting commentary on the review process.

Honestly, i think this sort of back-and-forth could happen about a lot of reviews. Most reviewers, however, would not put themselves in the position for it to occur (not that they necessarily should).

I have not watched the review, not do I intend to. I do think it is unfortunate that the reviewer opened himself up to criticism but seems unwilling to accept it. There was a feigned interest in comments in the first post, everything since has been troll protocol.
  22. Also, I think a replacement for fitness, passive powers which give, say, +2.5% max health and another which gives +2.5% max end. might be nice, esp. for those that don't really have anywhere good to allocate their powers.

Basically, one or more weak passive pools might be nice.
  23. Do they literally mean a signature? Sounds crazay. I just assumed the signed NDA comment was a circumlocution for closed beta as opposed to open beta.
  24. It is possible that these inherent powers unlock at fixed levels (swift and/or jumping at 6 : health at 14 : stamina at 20). If I were to recommend how to implement the system, that is how I would do it at least.
  25. CoH isn't about "Look what they did" as much as "Watch what I can do."

And I wouldn't trade it for the most intricate gameworld.
