You're talking about the information window? There's no [ok] or [close] button? Do you see a little red dot on right side of a top or bottom border? That's the regular close window action button. Do you see that?
-
It's "good enough" invisibility that's effective in most cases. Nemesis Snipers can still see you. Rikti Drones, sometimes.

Are you wearing a ring or are you just happy to see me?

Silver Mantis: I get turned on and excited by violence by the threat of violence too when Im getting beaten on by someone who is skilled and powerful in the art of combat it just makes me feel so alive.. makes me tingle.. I start getting turned on the moment I see someone who I think can push my limits and beat me real good.. Pauses to look out over the Con crowd. I have never been more depressed in my life.

Yeah, the Defeat 10 Circle of Thorns in Peres Park, the lowest who are level 10, have been a common complaint since launch, I think. Anyway, leave the mission alone for a few levels.
Head over to Kings Row, using the Tram (open your Map, look for the T = train station). If you haven't already been given a Kings Row contact by one of your starter contacts at Atlas Park or Galaxy City, you can start with the Police Radio.
The first time you enter Kings Row, you are assigned to a Detective. He'll show up on your Contacts window and/or you might see an arrow marker to lead you to him. When you talk to the Detective, he'll give you a Police Radio. This shows up as another contact in your Contacts window (at the top). Click on it to get a choice of 3 random, generic missions. Do 3 "radio" missions and it'll tell you to talk to the Detective again. He'll offer you a Bank mission, which is timed once you enter. Complete it and you'll be granted a Jet Pack to help you get around (2 hours of real time usage). The Detective will also introduce you to a new contact.
Note: in the hero side, at every multiple of 5 level, all your current contacts in the regular city zones will offer to introduce you to a new contact. This corresponds to the 5 origins. There was a purpose to this in the past, but it doesn't mean anything now. Still, hero side, talk to all your current contacts to get 5 new ones or do some radio missions to get an intro. If you have less than 5 contacts per 5th level, talk to all your older contacts to see if you missed someone.
Note: the story zones (The Hollows, Faultline, Striga Island, etc) have their own independent set of contacts. You'll get the first contact of the zone added to your Contacts window the first time you enter. -
I rationalized the "(null)" as someone I've opened the Player Notes on previously, which I do occasionally to check their global name to try to match who's who from the global chat channel during/while the team recruitment, but didn't insert any comments. I assumed the Player Notes window does an auto-save upon closing and thus the "(null)" to serve as a null value note.

Don't forget to go click on an NPC whose name starts with "M" to see how many hours you've been on patrol to reach this milestone in its career.

I have an Ice/Dev which while safe always felt a bit low powered, especially on a team. This was mainly due to having only one AOE in the Frost Breath. Then I got Static Discharge and the game changed. Since I was already lining up for Frost Breath, Static Discharge fit right in. The quick two shot cones deals a lot of damage. It's not uncommon to cause a whole spawn group to look over their shoulders to check me out even though the Tank had them well under control.
And in case you're interested, the Charged Armor graphic is pretty discreet. -
I like having Siphon Power for those Blasters who persistantly hang out at the back and miss out on getting the Fulcrum. So I FS for the meleers, then take a hop back to SP to spread the buffs around.

Considering he's asking about PvP also, isn't Superspeed's stealth component disabled when in a PvP environment? So wouldn't Steamy Mist + Stealth IO be better all around?

I can easily see having them spawn, but it's so annoying when you can't even hit something

A few issues ago, the Invasion Rikti were changed so that they can't attacked until their teleportation animation completes which, you know, takes a while. Prior to the change, wanton AOE splash damage were killing them before they could fully materialize.
What I do is to click a Pet and target through it. Note: this is best with ranged attacks. The Pets always knows what is attack-able.
In addition, usually the Pet doesn't stay on one target until the target is defeated. That is, it keeps re-targeting. This is good in that you get to hit more foes and each will count towards your defeat badge quota. While you won't get much XP per defeated foe, you'll have more defeats being counted so it sort of evens out.
If you're a melee character, the only thing I can suggest is for you to not be in the middle of the mob of players. Stay on the outer edge of the action where you can plainly see a foe making attacks. And there ought to be a lot of them out at the perimeter. The ones at the center of the mob of players are usually AOE'ed to death pretty quickly. Plus, the Headman gunners usually teleport out to the edge to snipe at the mob of players.
Some additional FYIs in case you didn't know:
- Ctrl-Tab = default for target nearest foe
- F = follow (ie, you'll beeline directly to the targeted foe)
- Ctrl-click on an attack power (in this case) = auto-fire/auto-attack, it'll go off as soon as you're in ranged of the target foe -

Forgive me for being incredulous, but I've never heard of this before. Dark's damage always seemed, well, sub-par. Can it achieve the sustained 95 dps necessary (or slightly lower if you keep the AV in tar?)

Dark Miasma has regen debuffs in Twilight Grasp and Howling Twilight. So a dark built for survivability could probably do it, it would just take a while.

Actually, I've wanted this option since COV launched. -
My chat window scroll bars have been doing that for quite a while. This quirk doesn't really bother me though.

That's a throne? His butt must hurt. Someone needs to help him fluff up his boulders. -
With the proliferation of invis + tp to short cut missions, not many players do the old school slug throughs anymore. Even with the new, already short TFs.

Here an interesting thread with people showing off their game's user interface.
If you have more questions on your setup, take a screenshot so we can see what your issue is.

See this is the problem with Travel powers. You just zip by all the local scenery.

My characters all stall around the low-40s. That's because they have all their core powers and enough slotting that they feel pretty much "complete". In the beginning I was a bit concerned, but now I realize that's how it is for me. So when the feeling come around, I put the character on semi-retirement for half a year or so. I still log them in to work the Market and, now, shift them for Day Jobs.
The downtime is also good to let me reflect on their builds without actually thinking about their builds. Kind of like taking a step back. Then after several months, I'll suddenly get the urge to do a respec. I don't use a build planner, so I'll spend a couple of weeks camped out at the Market with pencil and paper. I plan my new builds based on what I can afford and what looks to be purchasable in a reasonable amount of time. I'll lay out my low bids for what I want and wait to see what I can pick up over the next couple of months. After I do the respec into my new build, I'll feel invigorated. I'll follow up by doing several TF/SFs to test and play with the new build which can bump me up to 50 fairly quickly. -

I didn't know it existed and it took me a while to find it. Is Follow and Info all it offers? If so, I can't say that I'd find it particularly useful.
